Technic Sets/MOCs without Tires
jodawill replied to DrJB's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
There are a lot of great GBC modules that don't use tires. Actually, most of them don't. -
I don't mind having a female police officer. When she has her hairpiece on, she looks really good. But every time I see that picture, I think about that face. When she puts that hat on, she becomes a man. You can't see her hair and her face is just the classic smiley face. So it does seem a little silly, and it kind of makes me feel weird because it's almost like they have a crossdressing minifigure.

A couple of the City sets have toilets next year too. 2015 is the year of the toilet.

I just watched the video. I love how they make these sets with a story. I think this is the best storytelling they've ever done in a set. They put a lot of thought into this one. I think the outside of the building seems a tiny bit lackluster in comparison to some of the other buildings, but the playability factor really makes up for that. Seeing this video really enhances everything for me because I know why each of these things were included.

I'm mostly excited about that baseplate. I'm going to order a ton of those for my farm. The set is really cool, but it's hard to top the Parisian Restaurant.

If such a thing as this "LUGBULK" ever existed (which it may or may not ), I'm sure TLG would not appreciate people discussing these matters on a public forum, and I'm sure that would be specifically stated in the agreement.

There were several famous female pirates. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Women_in_piracy

I think it's sad that TLG's been lowering its decency standards. Kirk Christiansen would never have let them make a set for The Big Bang Theory. I don't think adult material belongs in the Lego universe. It goes against everything TLG used to stand for.

No More Technic at Lego shop?
jodawill replied to bonox's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I've been having a lot of problems with the S@H website for the past couple months. Some days, the site is completely unusable. And every time I search for "exo suit," it takes me back to the homepage the first time, then it works if I type it again. -
Green Peace has complained about tons of different companies. No one should listen to anything they say. They make money by raising a ruckus over everything. I'm really sick of hearing about Lego and Green Peace. I wish we could just ban every topic that mentions Green Peace.

I'm confused by the fact this is on the front page right now. The images were leaked a long time ago. Is TLG finally giving EB permission to promote them?

Yeah, I wanted to attach the rigging, but that would have required adding an extra layer of plates to the fences. I had never seen the fence pieces with four studs at the time I made the ship. I'm planning to buy some in my next order so I can do that. Something related to the word skull would probably be good, but yeah, I'm definitely not using the word "bounty." Yeah, I might have gotten some more responses if I had done that.

Thanks! I actually meant that the masts are unstable, though. I guess I'll just have to detach the masts for transportation in the future. The small island in the earlier pictures was mine (I took it apart the same night I made it), but the larger landscape is part of David Gregory's castle display at Brickworld.

168B First off, I apologize for the photos. I'm not a photographer. I did the best I could. This is my very first pirate ship MOC ever. I've put a lot of hours into this, and I'm pleased with the results. I borrowed a few ideas from Red Beard Runner, such as the skull on the back. That was my favorite pirate ship when I was a kid, although I didn't own it until a couple years ago. https://www.flickr.c...57645808353830/ Constructive criticism is welcome, especially for the masts. They don't stay on there very well. You may not be able to tell from the pictures, but I did do some modifications to the base of the masts, adding some Technic plates to the bottom. I also have long axles going through the masts. Neither of those things really helped at all. I'm also still trying to come up with a name for it.

Awesome! Treasure Island is my favorite book of all time. And the 1990 version is my favorite movie of all time! Very well done!

Lego 60026 Town Square--!New Build & Review!
jodawill replied to VintageLegoEra's topic in LEGO Town
This set looks pretty ridiculous without a baseplate. The photo on the front of the box almost suggests that it does come with a road baseplate, which would have been great. As it is, in particular, that statue looks really lonely. -
1) No date has been set yet because the bricks are still being quality tested. 2) I'm not sure if it's been decided yet, but I think they'll probably have both bulk bricks and starter kits. 3) They will only be sold online.

I actually had the receiver completely exposed during the show. It's possible, though, that my transmitter was sending a weak signal because I had the zinc-carbon batteries in it for several months. Although they were still working fine, I threw them out after the show to prevent any problems. They're really cheap batteries. I'm not sure whether there's a good solution to this. A mirror might look awkward. Maybe I should put the receiver on the back of the car instead of the front so they can send the signal after they miss the train coming by.

A LEGO reality show... a good idea or a bad one?
jodawill replied to XAxles's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Oh gosh. I hate reality TV. I hate how so many of those shows try to create drama out of mundane things. If they don't try to create drama and actually focus on the building, I might like it. UK reality TV is much better than American reality TV because they don't turn it into a Jerry Springer kind of thing. -
Which survey is this? I don't remember hearing about a prize for any of them.
