Nr 6: plumber entry: three points -
It is not the end of the world, but the more I think about it, the more I feel the man has a point. As a principled matter this is not ok. Glad they apologized.

WIP - LotR Helm´s Deep (minifig scale)
KristofBD replied to Altezza's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Very impressive - especially the round walls. I agree with Deathleech: it would even look better if you slightly varied the colour scheme. But overall, extremely impressive!- 124 replies

I agree that Game of Thrones would be very unlikely: too dark and only aimed at adults (may be as a cuusoo set though). The television series will run a long time though: five more seasons after this one... That would not be the problem. This castle series is ok, but given the LOTR line, I will not buy any of these sets. I need all my money to spend on the magnificent LOTR sets. Originally I thought the Orthanc was going to be plain, but given its beautiful detailed interior, I cannot pass it. Compared to that set or the Helm's Deep set, these castle sets are indeed childish. That being said, they do a good job at it. They are certainly not bad at all, and I guess we are spoiled having the LOTR and Hobbit lines...

Press Release 10237 - Tower of Orthanc
KristofBD replied to Bonaparte's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I thought the Orthanc was too plain to make a good set out of it, but I must say I am very impressed by the interior. I am actually quite happy it has an open back and an interior. Great set - a must-buy for sure! -
Brilliant set - love the ent and the great interior. The interior is what I probably like best, but the overall shape and the building techniques look very nice as well. The minifigs are ok, especially Saruman again looks great. A pity we get no new orcs though...

@Deskp: I agree, you need two to fully enjoy the scene (but when you have two, it is truly brilliant!)

The Corsair ship is waay cooler than I first thought. It will actually be my first lego ship. Regarding the Black Gate, it's a shame the interior is rather plain. But the figs and the build will probably make up for that. Very cool sets thanks!

Well than they taped the designer video very early. But may be that's just wishful thinking of me ;)

Excellent MOC - especially the throne is a very clever build. The swords on the top are a bit strange though (why not use the other type of swords?). Overall though, I am impressed!

The Assassination Of Henri IV (14 May 1610)

Nice MOC - Laketown is definitvely unique, and it fits even though it is indeed quite different from how I imagined it. The water is also very nicely done - easily the highlight of the MOC. I do agree with Deathleech though: the dragon can probably be improved... It does not really look like a proper big and menacing dragon. May be this is also due to the fact that we have quite specific images of how Smaug needs to look... Nevertheless, very nice MOC!

Still anxiously awaiting news about the Orthanc. But I'm afraid we'll have to wait some more...

The stagecoach set is too expensive (or too cheap in the US ;), but all the others are not that surprising: they are in line with normal European licensed set prices.
