  1. Nice tweaks to the model, it really does look good. I had a few ideas myself but none of them really worked out. One was to use this wheel behind the cockpit instead of the ultra rare one, but unfortunately the windscreen piece wouldn't go back quite far enough into it to make it work.
  2. Hi Valezri, I would love to see what you have done, post it up some time! I can see mine taking years too, certainly with the figures it is a long term project.
  3. I started collecting light bluish grey barrels for a Psiaki X-Wing and managed to get 2 before I decided to use something else. They will come in very handy now :)
  4. That's looking really good so far! The lights are going to look fantastic, I thought about doing something like that but decided it would be too hard :) Your project is a lot more ambitious than mine, I really hope you are able to keep going with it. I could make some comments on the accuracy but since it is all WIP a lot of it is probably to be done anyway. I think my newer alcove design is more accurate but it does involve making the alcoves slightly wider. Some (but not all) of the alcoves have a fully curved ceiling, but doing that with lighting might be too much hassle. I have quite a lot of info that you might find useful, I will try to post some of it up here when I can.
  5. Agreed, I have never seen a MOC that comes close to getting the shape right (no offense to MOC builders, I think it is basically impossible with the available parts)
  6. Amazing build! You could spend hours looking at it and still not see everything

  8. The body on the christmas tree droid in the next advent calendar has been made specifically for this.
  9. Maybe I had bad luck but the few times I ordered from the US the postage was a lot. I tend to stick to the EU unless I need a rare part.
  10. Your best bet is to create a wanted list on bricklink containing everything you are looking for and then use the "Wanted > By Shop" tab to find which stores have the most of what you are looking for. Consider both UK and EU stores and you should be able to find what you need.
  11. I've always wondered about the classic faces in the modulars. When they started working on the modular concept around 2006 they consulted AFOLs heavily, and my guess would be that they went with classic faces based on the feedback they were given. In my opinion the quality of the faces improved a few years after that and given the choice today I am not sure the outcome would be the same. You only have to look at modular MOCs on this forum to see that most people go for expressive faces in the figures they create for their modulars. Personally I think they fit in better with the more realistic look of the buildings themselves and make the scenes depicted in MOCs more interesting.
  12. I don't think this story is very realistic. Ewoks can take out an entire legion of the emperor's best troops with just a few stones and logs so there is no way that Goatm would have been able to travel through the forest without getting cooked for lunch.
  13. I like the way you have done that. Unfortunately neither of those parts for the arm seem to be available in green but there must be other parts that can be substituted.
  14. I am considering using Kenner heads for Ponda Baba and Nabrun Leids like this guy as I think they can look ok. The only problem is that they are a bit too big compared to Lego heads like Greedo and the trandoshans, but it probably doesn't matter too much with aliens. I would definitely want better printing on the torsos though, and that is going to be difficult.
  15. Hi there, I would love to see what you are doing. Feel free to post here or start another thread, it's up to you. It would be great if we could share ideas and information as I am sure you must have found the same as me that finding accurate information on certain things is difficult. It sounds like you are doing something huge if you are basing it off that Complete Locations diagram, I am finding it hard enough just to do the bar and the alcoves around it. Regarding the height of the bar, it is very difficult to get right as the minifigures are so out of proportion. I actually have a hood which I haven't photographed yet that sits quite a lot lower than the top bars. If you look at this rare production shot of the left hand side of the bar you can see that the dispensers hang off bars which are well above the hood and quite a bit higher than the top of the arch at the back, so I don't think I am too far off.
  16. Wow, that is huge! The floorplan looks really good. For dusting what I do is remove any loose pieces and then run the hoover over it with the brush attachment. It is a bit risky but it is the quickest way I have found.
  17. What have you done to poor old Wicket!? :)
  18. They've only just come out. If you wait a bit you will be able to get them for less. The cantina will almost certainly be found for £15 less in a while and the AT-AT and B-wing will be cheaper too.
  19. Fantastic idea and really well executed!
  20. Apparently it's an ammo pouch that you can see some of them wearing. They have done it really well, you can clearly see the three individual pockets.
  21. That's better, now you are starting to make the official set look silly.
  22. Great start, all those circles and curves make this a tricky build. I too would like to see an overview shot and look forward to seeing how this progresses
  23. It is a big improvement over 4501 (except for Greedo's arms). Just imagine the cantina set we will get in 10 years time!
  24. Thanks for that, I will give it a go some time as the effect is superb
  25. There is no doubt that they did this on purpose to get OT fans to buy the Jedi Scout Fighter. What I don't understand is that everyone talks about how making moulds is so expensive, but they can afford to make two new ones for that set and not use them in the obvious places they could go.
