It's quite amusing that the source for the above list is a post on another site that links to a post earlier in this thread as it's source

[MOC] Minifig-scale B-Wing (with instructions and LDD)
TheBear replied to krispy's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Sounds interesting, I look forward to seeing that. This image has some pretty nice colour schemes. I think the B-Wing looks cool no matter what colours you use.- 125 replies

[MOC] Minifig-scale B-Wing (with instructions and LDD)

There's always dark bluish grey like the UCS version uses, but I don't think it looks anywhere near as nice as sand blue and the 4x4 wedge slopes would still be required in light bluish grey.- 125 replies

[MOC] Minifig-scale B-Wing (with instructions and LDD)
TheBear replied to krispy's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I just added an extra pin to Krispy's 4L bars to connect to the technic bricks, like this: It is very sturdy as long as the pins are pushed as far as they can go into the engines. I am also partial to putting trans-orange dishes on the ends of the engines but I recognise that not everyone likes this.- 125 replies

Great job, everything looks good. The only problem I can see is that the engines are on backwards and one of them is sticking out a bit.- 125 replies

[MOC] Minifig-scale B-Wing (with instructions and LDD)
TheBear replied to krispy's topic in LEGO Star Wars
It turns out my dark grey canopy was the new style so I didn't need to rush out and buy a Jedi Interceptor, I will wait until the light grey ones are on bricklink. I applied the cockpit mod over the weekend and it works fantastically well, thanks again David!- 125 replies

What Lego understand is that many fans of the original trilogy are now parents and buying sets like this for their children while still secretly (or not so secretly) wanting it for themselves.

[MOC] Minifig-scale B-Wing (with instructions and LDD)
TheBear replied to krispy's topic in LEGO Star Wars
You're a genius, thank you so much for doing this. I really wanted an opening cockpit from the start but I had no clue how it could be done. This review confirms that the Jedi Interceptor has the new style canopy. I'll probably also get one over the weekend and give it a go, I wanted that new R2-D2 head anyway.- 125 replies

Congratulations on completing your build. I have a 3.5 year old and all he wants to do is open the cockpit! Maybe I will change my mind about that UCS windscreen, it looks good from above but not so good side on.- 125 replies

Post your general LEGO Star Wars questions here
TheBear replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in LEGO Star Wars
The problem with the UCS is that the front part of the engines are far too small. The back part is probably in the right place but it ends up centered due to the incorrect size of the larger part. -
It would be better to wait until we actually know what is in the set and the price is confirmed before complaining about it :)

No, don't do it!.... too late :)

In ROTJ the guys with those hats actually wear both types of uniform so the torso isn't wrong. In the shot below the guy on the right is wearing the uniform from the TIE Fighter version and the other two are wearing the one from the ISD. I totally agree with you about the face printing though, it seems that the chin strap is a victim of their current obsession with headsets. Luckily this is easily fixed by buying a few heads with chin straps.

Good job on the changes, everything you've done has improved the accuracy. I realise that the white vs grey question is a religious debate and there is no right answer, but I happen to think snowspeeders look better in light grey. Maybe they are supposed to be white, but in ESB they are very dirty and light grey makes a better contrast with the snow. If you take a look at this screen grab from the film you can see that the snowspeeder is practically the same colour as the AT-AT and much closer to Lego light grey than white.

It just goes to show that whatever they do some people won't like it. Having faces that were incompatible with everything else was a huge mistake and thankfully they have not repeated it with the Rebels figures.

Yes. I am not opposed to the idea of using third party parts but I am not convinced by the MY canopy. I might buy one anyway though just to see what it looks like in person. Apologies for veering off topic on this thread. -
I sincerely hope you are right, but did you see what J.J.Abrams did to the star ship Enterprise? :)

Very nice MOC with lots of interesting details! The official set was so disappointing. Obviously they couldn't have done something this big but if they had done something smaller with the same feel as this it would have been much better.

If you think about it early 2015 would be the last chance they might have for a long time to release an original trilogy UCS Millennium Falcon since if they leave it any later than that they might be expected to make an Episode 7 version. Plus it would still be available when they release the movie when interest in the theme will be an at all time high. For this reason it seems like the best possible time to do it.

There were a few WIP shots on Brickshelf but I can't find them now, maybe he took them down.

[MOC] Minifig-scale B-Wing (with instructions and LDD)
TheBear replied to krispy's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I've been meaning to post some more feedback on this model for a while and now that the topic has been bumped it seems like a good time. First of all I must say that Krispy did an amazing job on the instructions considering he didn't have the photos of Renegade Clone's internals. However there are a few stability issues with Krispy's version that the original doesn't have. The biggest problem is with the two smaller wings. These would fall off practically every time I picked it up or put it down. The original doesn't have this problem because the bits where the wings are connected to the main body are built firmly into the structure. It is not possible to just change it to match the Renegade Clone version exactly because the internals are different but I have made something that gives the same result. With these changes the wings are absolutely rock solid and no longer fall off at all. The second issue is something I already mentioned to do with the stability of the engines and the covers on the engine block. I modified my engine covers to exactly match Renegade Clone's so that the engines are connected directly to the covers. This makes them very sturdy and they no longer fall off. Unfortunately this requires a big change to the engine block itself as the covers are mounted differently, but this also makes the covers more sturdy and easier to connect. I made my engine block internally more like Renegade Clone's but I did it slightly differently so that I had 4 studs at the front to connect the cooling intakes. This makes them a bit stronger and less likely to fall off. Krispy, I hope you consider these changes if you update your instructions and thank you once again for all your hard work.- 125 replies

Agreed, that's the one problem with it, but it is still an awesome model and all X-Wings suffer in this area. Some people have used third party canopy parts but I have never seen one that looks particularly good. -

Hi Scott, very nice collection! Psiaki's X-Wing is definitely the way to go. I would also recommend Brightwright's Y-Wing to go with your B-Wing and A-Wing. -

Congratulations on completing your build. I'm sad to say that it looks better with the Jedi Starfighter windscreen than the UCS B-wing one due to the position of the windows.- 125 replies
