  1. Great job on the Biggs head, I will have to give that a go!
  2. To recreate the exterior of the homestead when they are buying the droids you just need a little domed building and a couple of vaporators, it wouldn't need much at all.
  3. Epic achievement, congratulations!
  4. I wasn't really thinking about the backlash, more that they couldn't make a 10,000+ part set for $300 when the UCS Millennium Falcon was a 5200 part set that cost $500 in 2007.
  5. If they just did a standard UCS vehicle everyone would be disappointed since it would get compared to Marshall Banana's, especially since his got a lot of exposure on Cuusoo. His is huge with over 10,000 parts and realistically they could only make an official one about a quarter of the size of that. By making it a playset it becomes more interesting and there are plenty of options on what they could add. Jawas and droids obviously, Lars homestead with Lars and Beru figures, Tusken Raiders and bantha. They could even motorize it but I hope they don't do that since it will eat up a lot of the budget that could be used on better things.
  6. Incredible job both inside and out. My favourite bit has to be the entrance hall but the whole thing is superb.
  7. Very realistic, you can hardly tell it's made of Lego, although I do spot a single stud in there.
  8. Very impressive build, everything looks spot on. Congratulations
  9. The old greedo head uses Dark Turquoise which was discontinued in 2004 as part of the big palette adjustment, it is simply no longer part of the Lego colour palette. Nothing in Lego has a screen accurate colour, it all fits into the limited colour palette they have created and the new head fits perfectly into this. If anyone is interested the helmet on the grey pilot in the B-Wing set is known as both "Red Two" and "Gray Leader" in the battle of Endor. This page explains the confusion http://starwars.wiki...attle_of_Endor)
  10. As pointed out recently in the 2014 Pictures and Rumors thread, R2-X2's proper body will be included in the next Star Wars advent calendar.
  11. The best way to learn is to buy some sets and build, and take a look at some of the amazing MOCs on this site and learn from them. If you want to learn from the official modulars without buying them then you can download all the instructions from the Lego website and see how they are put together.
  12. I've taken the backs off my pet shop and the house that comes with it. This isn't my photo but I have done the same thing as this It seems a little bit deep for playing with, but I didn't want to make it any less deep so I could keep all the features of the shop and all the furniture and fittings in the other rooms. It all depends how much interior you want. I prefer the open back style for display as you can show off all the insides without having to take it apart.
  13. I agree with this, too many headsets! It is nice to see another death star trooper (named imperial navy trooper) in the star destroyer since they are expensive to buy, but they have replaced his chin strap with a headset and it just looks weird.
  14. Good spot, it is an exact match for R2-X2. You have to commend them for their attention to detail.
  15. No, it's much better than that, they have given us a b-wing helmet on Nien Nunb and a full ROTJ y-wing pilot. This is absolutely fantastic news, the Y-Wing pilot looks incredible.
  16. I don't really understand what you mean by disproportionate, it looks perfectly to scale with the minifigure proportions. If you compare it to an OT stormtrooper I think it looks a lot more accurate and clear than the previous printing.
  17. I love the printing on that Rebels stormtrooper. I hope they use the torso and leg printing combined with the current OT helmet for future OT sets.
  18. Nice build, it looks cool in the different colours. I know they are hard to find but you should really try to get hold of a couple of 57906 hinges to get rid of those holes in the nose.
  19. Great review. I just don't understand why they have printed the commlink on both sides of his head, surely it would have so much more play value if they put a normal face on one side.
  20. Thanks for the comments. I would love to but it is not easy and I doubt I could produce anything at a level I would be happy with. On the other hand my test shots have proved that things can be less than perfect and still look ok in a dark and crowded scene. At the moment I'm just focusing on finishing the building, I am struggling to figure out how to get a smoother curve on the bar at the required size and thickness.
  21. I doubt they will, all you can do is click and collect if you live near enough to a store.
  22. You have to add it to your basket along with something else over £10 and then you get it free.
  23. Great job. I think that old garage was the first set I ever got!
  24. At least it's better than 6211 which had huge holes and white technic bricks visible
