  1. If you read the article the rumor is based on, it's NOT a carousel that is rumored, but rather another fairground type ride that should fit in with the THEME of the carousel.
  2. Most of the rumors seem to point at it fitting with the Creator Expert carousel as opposed to the modulars... Some iffy translation from a German website isn't helping with the confusion.
  3. Nice. Certainly a step up from the little kit that came with the rock band trio. That uses a 4x4 round for the bass, but only has one tom, the snare, one hat and the ride, and of course, non-chrome cymbals.
  4. This has a date flag of yesterday, and I don't see it being discussed yet, but if it is a duplicate topic, sorry! http://www.bloomberg.com/video/brick-by-brick-inside-lego-4-17-SlbmZEQnSfyC~y1eSm9FAg.html?cmpid=yhoo A nice 20-minute TV show on the business, history and manufacturing process of TLG.
  5. It isn't the Dutch look of MS that bothers me. It's the thinness of the building compared to it's height that stands out most to me, but the short, squat, mostly-black market portion also looks ugly in combination with the blue/tan building. I actually thought the market part was a junkyard or graveyard the first several times I saw it. Then you add the relative lack of depth, front to back of the building and it starts to look even sillier to me. Cap that off with the completely unfurnished interior and horrible stairs-in-the-middle layout, and it just gets worse in my eyes. Someone recently posted a modular MOC of their childhood home, and I thought if he'd changed the colors to blue/tan, it would have been an excellent substitute for MS, especially with a tiny bit of tweaking to give it more of a dutch flavor. One of the biggest improvements over MS was the fact that it used more of the baseplate front to back.
  6. That spider one is horrifying.
  7. 7/9 including a bricklink'ed GG. FB was already retired when I came out of the dark ages, so I've moved quickly. :) I may BL CC someday, but I find MS horribly unattractive.
  8. Maybe someday, but having bought seven modulars in two months, I'm going to have to hold off if I want to stay married. :)
  9. Having bought and built every modular from GG onwards over the past two months, I cannot imagine skipping ANY of them. They really show how the designers have grown more sophisticated, and how much more can be done with a couple new molds each year. That said, I cannot see myself ever going back and BLing either MS or CC as they would be such underwhelming builds at this point.
  10. I just finished the apartment / middle floor of PR... This set is awesome. It really makes GG look unfinished on the inside though.
  11. Now there's a rumor in the general forum that it's going to be Pet Shop... (via Brick Show) It's getting silly now.
  12. Are you sure that's a Porsche and not an Aston Martin? Because that looks a lot like it could be James Bond's house, and we know which brand he prefers. :)
  13. ...exactly, except the boards were discussing the timeline of GE's retirement when the first few reports popped up that managers had started saying this instead. It could still happen that GE goes first, but until then, I'm taking the word of my local LEGO store managers who both say otherwise at two separate locations.
  14. Very cool, but you need to extend that layout a bit so that your riders don't get whiplash at the end!
  15. Because maybe in December 2013 (or whenever the box was finalized) they were still undecided what would retire next and used the box back to advertise the worst selling set(s)? Then, however many months later when the decision is(was) made, if TH is indeed (still?) selling as poorly as we seem to hear, they could retire it, knowing they did everything they could to boost its sales, unsuccessfully, and retire it with no qualms if it was the right or wrong decision. The simple fact that we've got store managers across the US volunteering the info that TH is next to retire is one of two things: 1: An intentional lie to sell the slowest selling set and then NOT retire what is reportedly the slowest selling set. 2: The truth. If it's the first, then they risk offending or losing the trust of the customers who've been told this in order to NOT retire the worst selling set? If it's the second, people know that they can trust the local store managers, and they retire the worst selling set. So, yeah. Explain to me why you think GE will retire first, despite multiple store managers saying otherwise, and how that's a good idea. How does the maxim go? "The simplest scenario is most likely the correct scenario" Or something like that.
  16. Thanks, Lobot. That was actually the exact link I was looking for, but even searching for NYTF brought up 10 pages of results. :) I'm a full-time engineering student, so I definitely understand the idea that posting on a website isn't the be-all, end-all.
  17. OK, seriously now... this thread is massively bloated, and even with the search, I cannot find anything I want since pretty much everything gets ten pages of results... Can the mods PLEASE update the first post with the known information? I don't even care about the pictures so much, just the prices / piece counts, etc.
  18. That was exactly how I was going to try first. :)
  19. Thanks! I'm going to make a pair. Those Imperial Scouts never seem to go anywhere alone. Hopefully they can fit in the AT-AT together, and I think your folding design makes that possible.
  20. Probably all the LEGO SW sets that are NOT on the second image. (In other words, none of the big sets get a discount.)
  21. Now, if we can get a picture of the left side, we can ALL start making this awesome speeder for our AT-ATs! :o
  22. I wish that technic beam you used for the wing connection was available in black. (And I bet that you do, too.) Either way, this ought to be front paged... Maybe some different pictures?
