[MOC] Rockin' Fett (Mini Chibi Scale)
rollermonkey replied to M<0><0<DSWIM's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Yeah, Carbonite Han as the amp is a stroke of genius. -
Picked up the Cantina and got a very nice bonus surprise in my bag in addition to (yet another) Shredder... Darth Revan I'd been talking to one of the guys for a while and part of the discussion included how generous TLG is with all the giveaways, but that I'd missed out on Revan. Talked about probably 30 things after that... While I was ringing out, he'd gone out back, snagged one from somewhere back there and slipped it into my bag. No matter how many times I deal with TLG, I cannot get over how frickin' awesome their customer service is at every turn. The only company I can think of that is as consistently good is Disney.

If they actually rereleased 10179, anyone who paid thousands of dollars for one, whether for their own enjoyment for for resale purposes would be PI$$ED! ...and I would be totally cool with it. I hope it's true.
-
My store was directed to ship their stock back to TLG and that they couldn't order more. I'm guessing that the shelf space was needed for this year's Summer wave, and it's only going to be available on S@H very soon.

SBrick General Discussion
rollermonkey replied to Nofer89's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Looks like @40GBP based on the backer reward tiers. 29 GBP gets you one 'below expected retail' 40GBP gets a first batch pre-order, 55GBP gets you choice of color, and 70GBP gets you two SBricks with some instructions on how to incorporate them into the MKII crane.- 771 replies

Show Your Army, Navy, and Collection Display

When you said you came out of the dark ages recently, I wasn't thinking that you meant a few years ago... Or you're fabulously wealthy to amass so much quicker than that! -
SBrick General Discussion

Backed! Kicked! Funded! Whatever you want to call it, I'm in for a pair of them! Question: All the images show the staircase layout, but the first stretch goal says 'stair top design', which is correct? Will they be like the pictures from day one, or only if the 100.000GBP mark is reached? For those asking about lights, buried in the text on the Kickstarter page it says you can control the intensity of lights, so I'd bet that means off, too.- 771 replies

As awesome as this is just for the AT-ATs, the hints of the rest of your collection around the edges looks amazing! You need to make a new thread to showcase everything you've got! -
Bought a bunch of PF parts towards Jurgen's Ultimate... Wow, but this stuff adds up quick! At least once you have a bunch, it can be swapped around from build to build.

That ATAT box looks crazy-small... It's not much bigger than the Cantina box! -

LEGO Star Wars 2014 Pictures and Rumors

After saving my VIP for most of the year, looks like I'm getting 49, 52 and 54 for $10 plus tax. ISD and B-wing will have to wait until after I scratch some itches in other themes. Lynnwood has the whole line... And do you mean Bellevue instead of Redmond? -
I think that was also plainly evident in The Lego Movie.

Make a lap of eBay and the other venues like Amazon and whatnot to make sure you can't still find a complete or even new set for less that the BrickLink total price.

Now, why couldn't I find this topic the other day? I was going to ask if I should get 8043 for $360 delivered, or Crawler and Sandcrawler for RRP and risk 8043 being even more expensive when I get another opportunity?
-
It's a reseller marketplace. Like Amazon Marketplace, but for Lego. You can buy long-retired sets and parts, sometimes still new in the box, as well as all kinds of used parts. You can get some really good deals, and you can find sets that resell for thousands of dollars. I'd never heard of it, but I used it and got all the parts to make a 100% correct parts Green Grocer, with all new pieces.

They probably are pulling the stock from the stores and will sell the remaining stock through the website. It happens all the time. -

I didn't want to be harsh, but as someone who spent 20 years in the US Navy, I'm looking for the rest of the ship... The foc'sle is nice, as is the bridge. The mast is a little sparse, but with 4 AA placements up there, it wouldn't be a surprise to me if this was an early WWII-era ship, so then that mast is fine, too. Then we get to the stern... Where is it? I actually thought the first picture was chopped off, the stern is so blunt! Here's a couple WWII frigates to show you what I mean: As clean as the lines are on your model are, you might be aiming for a modern ship, but even then, you still need a fantail! So... Yeah. Work on the stern. After that, the length to width to height ratio will probably look better, too. As it is, it looks top heavy and thin... I'd hate to take her out in anything but calm seas for fear of capsizing her. Here's a nice image of a Type 23:
