  1. This is a build I had an idea to create, thinking I should make a car having spent the past few months making larger structures and buildings. A little creativity refresh for me. So of course, wanting to build a nice little car I decided to make a Fabuland style Deora. A staple of the Hot Wheels line-up and a retro design I love. Keeping it simple for myself!
  2. I have no idea how it worked, but I could chuck something together just to see what happens?
  3. "Settlers who know the way? Or trapped people who gave in to their lot?" Magnhildr eyed the surrounds with suspicion. "Soldiers might not answer questions, but a civilian could."
  4. https://www.instagram.com/p/CFpOW0MpfOC/?igshid=14s8bnzw1p30r Test Edit; Nope, that worked for me last time...
  5. Yup. Admin did a little shuffle to take out the bits that were superfluous and added the new social media tab.
  6. Classy language there. Eurobricks is trying to be a friendly and open place, so can you avoid that sort of rhetoric? People are allowed to dislike a set. People are allowed to like a set. You can agree to disagree and you do not need to turn people's opinions around on toy bricks if they are keeping their position so strongly.
  7. Ok, point the first: It made me laugh that The Dress is one I know of, it is from a shop called Roman. (I like them for special occasion purchases, makes me feel glam) Point the Second @Itaria No Shintaku fix your Signature! The "tinypic" is no longer available and for someone who has to keep signatures on to check for moderation purposes, it is super annoying. Point the Third. We get it. You do not like the colour. You do not have to keep telling us this, or others. Even if they disagree with you. You also do not have to attack other members for not agreeing or using the same method to make the opposing argument. Please, cease this. Tower Bridge is not Tan, the LEGO Set is. Big Ben is the Bell, not the clocktower, but it is still sold as such (It is actually The Elizabeth Tower). However it is what people expect, so from a marketing perspective it is how it will be produced. LEGO plastics are not produced in the whole and subtle way real life colour appears, only careful painting and aging powders can replicate centuries old stonework in plastic. This is what happens with toys; They do not look exactly like the real thing. If all you want to do is carry on harping out the same thing, I'll have to start scooping the posts out to somewhere else so the rest of the members can actually discuss the set.
  8. That red motorcycle is from Fabuland. It was in a number of sets, so you are possibly better to look up the theme and see if you have other matching figured or parts.
  9. "Another group in this maze? Hopefully they will not be foes." Magnhildr accepted the venom, it could come in handy later in their adventure.
  10. This is stupendous. Amazing. I do not think anyone can argue against me awarding you this: Thank you for sharing this fantastic creation.
  11. Sounds great, I even have some Wizards who can do battle I love that the LEGO fan community can come together and create contests and fun for all.
  12. The Evil Wizard Fictilis Malum casts his spell to summon a Skeleton Army. A cultist stands by, ready to serve his villainous master. This is another quick scene I threw together for my display in Brickworld Virual's Eurobricks Room. I thought using the printed skeleton minifigure as part of the spell created a cool effect. Hope you enjoy. A warning though: Fictilis will return...
  13. First thought: Did you build it correctly? I am terrible for guessing steps and even skipping (by accident, or poor attention) steps while building. Sometimes I only realise once I find a left over part that is too large to be spare. City and Friends are very forgiving to build like this, due to the intended age range, but I have actually had to take apart and start from the missed step on the higher age sets, discovering that the build is now flimsy from missing the step/part. Also, I can mix up the left/right (Dyspraxia is a pain when building!) which again, sometimes is only noticeable when the structure becomes fragile.
  14. Oh yeah. It is essentially impossible to get Cobi sets here in the UK, and Mega Construx really fluctuates from plenty to choose from in a number of locations, to maybe find it in a dedicated Toy Shop or Pop Culture store. Kreo barely existed on shelves, except for clearance and discount retailers. They can tell from the pixels.
  15. Are we talking structural issues with bricks or the design of sets? Most Mega sets I encountered of late have been rather decent quality parts. Right now, I can think of at least four threads on this forum of MOCs that used LEGO and other brands or were fully generic brick. These were lambasted, reported to staff and generally hounded by "purist" fans. Of course, this is a forum for LEGO fans, but it illustrates the gatekeeping.
  16. Indeed, the only thing that maintains this absolutist perspective is fandom and snobbery. What Tyco bricks I own have held up a thousand times better than the LEGO of the era (from the same, just as played with lot of parts) Mega et al have improved leaps and bounds since they started out. "Purists" are preventing any integration, and they maintain a gateway to entry that excludes anything that is not a plastic brick marked LEGO... (I am a brick anarchist!!)
  17. Magnhildr readied their blade to strike. "My naginata takes down Ox-spiders, it will make short work of this bug." Front row, attack battle ant.
  18. You're welcome to post your own thread here in MCW. I love seeing bands I like rendered in LEGO form
  19. Cheers I love this build, it was a no-brainer to take advantage of the virtual-con for a chance to display it for FOLs everywhere.
  20. I love traditional instruments from all cultures and I think it is fantastic to combine the old and new, so I often check out WagakkiBand. This is a fantastic track
  21. "A rat." Magnhildr laughed. "This place makes a fool of us, to strike fear in my core over a rat!"
  22. He had a huge cooking pot that he used to cook up lots of chilli, my mum has inherited it now. I needed to put the pot in Thanks too, he was a character and we'll miss him.
  23. The Cook travels the lands, seeking interesting and tasty ingredients to rustle up a filling and delicious meal. Wherever he sets up camp, there is bound to be good food cooking that the Cook is happy to share. Another small scene I created to add to my Yellow Castle for display. This MOC is pretty special to me, more specifically the minifig. My Grandad loved to cook, to make huge meals for the whole family (there are a lot of us), he also loved to try new food and new things. We lost him in September, so The Cook is my tribute to him that I will keep bringing along with my castle MOC and any future castle display.
  24. I have one or two in my collection, sort of expected for the Ninjago Mod
  25. That's Lloyd Garmadon from the second series of Ninjago sets. When he was both a villain and a child.
