What are you browsing on? I have found that tags can get stacked, so can images, when I am browsing on my phone. Could you grab some screen shots of the process you use? I can't get it replicated myself.

There are legal obligations that a volunteer run site can't afford or cover. No staff earn anything from working on EB, no one can afford to be a full time dedicated moderator to keep things legally "safe" for children. Children have the offerings from TLG to participate in. In fact when EB was launched, there was only Children's fan resources officially.
-
True, but we are trying to run a site for AFOLs and for many reasons (something people may have noticed on Youtube) being set up for a Child Audience can create a lot of legal requirements and issues. So by all means support the kids in your life who love LEGO and encourage them. However EB is not a Kids site.

Great to know. This thread should help with ranks, some of the staff information may be a little outdated now as things have changed over the years, but the other ranks are the same. Have fun and Play Well.

Ok, I will do some little Mod magic and hide some things. You have been polite and understanding and you are doing your research. All good things So what we'll do is, we'll pretend to not have seen that number and then you carry on looking at MOCs and developing into a great member of the community. Right, I have made it so other Mods can see what they need to, but not anyone else. Honestly, if you keep up the polite attitude and you'll be better than plenty of members on the forum

Nostalgia is poison and most old LEGO sets were okay for the time but pretty basic and boring designs that only have current popularity because all the old fogeys worship them. I loved allof sets that I had as a kid, but rebuilding them now? They give me some warm fuzzies remembering when I was 10 and my most difficult trail was going to be a mental arithmetic test in school, but that is it. Instead I MOC something that was what I imagined the set to be when I was young and not in possession of much LEGO, using the techniques and parts available to me now.

I love that shade of pink, it really pops out but not as obnoxiously as coral seems to? I need to get photos of that to post. I always hate how bad my photography is, so nothing is good enough and I scrap the pics without posting anything. I should get something done soon! I have spaceships and castles, creatures and Figbarfs and I never get around to taking a snap or three.
-
It may not have been today, but I finally posted it. Also today, more Figs than any kind of sorting! I am supposed to be sorting out my minifig parts, but it is much more fun to make new characters up!

@MKJoshA and @Duvors I have some more, they are not excellent and mostly were shots that went to Instagram, but I have posted them here Darth Vader and some Troopers Boogie Down to the Batman Soundtrack. The parking lot has some ships and speeders that I have posted online before and some that I have not. A few did not survive, but the pink and white one is waiting to be photographed. A lot of Spot the character caught people's attention and had them looking at the details. Unikitty was popular. A little joke in the corner and a reference to a scene I enjoyed in the old Justice League cartoon. More characters to spot and nods to pop-culture. This little picnic scene was a tribute, as it was not long after Stan Lee and the actor to originally portray everyone's favourite Wookie. It is a third party figure, but we're never going to get one from LEGO! The idea was that Captain Marvel was brining over some New York Pizza for the picnic So that was where it ended up...

In the depths of space, a rest stop is a welcome sight. The Asteroid Bar has parking, fuel, entertainment and food for anyone in the system. The bar itself is a popular haunt for travellers and locals alike. Regulars always have someone new to meet, compete with or scam! There are some familiar and not so familiar faces to spot. I built this as a display for a local Comic Con in 2019, the parking area is lit up by EL wire, with a battery box hidden under the fuel pumps. The dance floor is a construction over a grid that holds fairy lights with a few different colours and lighting patterns, I tucked that box aside as I wanted to change the pattern throughout the day. Because it was for a comic con, I wanted to build something that was fun to look at and spot characters from pop-culture and also fun aliens and robots that I made up myself. It went down very well at the con and was a fun build. However I have more SciFi plans afoot, so these photos from the day are the best I'm going to get, this is ear-marked for take-down and a new creation. Apart from the dance floor, I want to work this into future layouts (if we ever get to do them again!) Who can you spot? Do at least a few of my joke scenes and references hit?

Brick-built Animals VS Molded Animals
Peppermint_M replied to Lego David's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Both, both is good. I like to build creatures and I also like the molded kind. It is all depending on where and how I want to use them. Though, we do need more dog breeds and cat colours/prints made. I need a Corgi. -
Hm, as it was a more technic based brand, I had not come across it. I am surprised it has not been reported and moved out yet!

As the writer of the Clone policy: It is a weird line these days as TLG spuriously goes after anyone they can, Zuru being one case and the recent 1x5 patent file even though Cobi and Mega have had them for years. Then we have the purchasing of a fan community resource (Bricklink, I mourn you) and the stripping of previously acceptable fan custom parts from the site. Not to mention the weird dilution of the term "minifig" by including Disney Cars etc into what really should only count the actual figures with limbs and a head! Minifigures are the one patent TLG could hang on to, but if they themselves are going to dilute it so much as to include an actual building set then they will certainly find it hard to challenge someone like Zuru again (I have a few samples of their figures, not excellent but fun enough for a kid to play with). So yeah, unpopular opinion: TLG are damaging themselves by trying to be the only brick brand.

Marvel Superheroes 2021 - Rumors & Discussion
Peppermint_M replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
Well jog on and grow up a little. You already said that you didn't want to argue, but coming back to respond is certainly the opposite. If it is such a sore subject, then maybe you need a little introspection. If a beer belly is emasculating to you, better be careful out in the real world! -
Need this for the ol' brick badge

Same here! The Impulse sized sets of the 90s were what made up most of my New LEGO, a hand-me-down bucket of bricks off a family friend (their son is about ten years older than me) was my supply of parts. I was lucky, there were leftovers from late 70s and 80s sets. Though nothing was complete (he had already sold on the completed sets etc) it was a dream come true to have so many loose bricks. Of course, now as an adult with hobby money, I have increased my collection to a much much larger amount!
-
true! We will have to make an RSS feed toolbar for stock alerts and a bot to place orders.
-
Adults today don't seem to be MOCers from all the complaints about sets not being good enough!
-
Also, they will be in Bricks and Pieces.

Yup. My little brother was the target age demographic when Ninjago was released (I was the coolest ever big sister when he was small) and now he is 20 and buying the whole line of sets to build as we discuss the merits of modern Dragon Design when compared to the charms of the original sets (and the earlier mentioned Exo Force potential for Ninjago). Kids still love it, even today I saw kids with T-shirts and hats with Ninjago on, kids trying to negotiate the larger set with their parents in the shop...

Peppermint_M replied to Peppermint_M's topic in General LEGO Discussion

I like Ninjago as it is an overarching theme that lets designers explore themes that otherwise would not have been greenlit without the familiar characters. It is nearly no effort at all to then remove the ninja and include a figure of your own creation. The recent rocky dungeons? Remove Kai/Jay/whoever and pop a knight in (CMF, BaM or Bricks and Pieces recently had those). Hey presto! A fantasy castle set. The current island themed series? Add Jungle Explorer and the intrepid city Safari gal: Adventurers has a triumphant return! In an exercise in pure fantasy, my brother and I even brewed up a way to have Exo Force back.

Ah. The quality is much better than before. I had a box in the 90s, I bought sets in the 00s and most recently picked up a Hot Wheels car set. The newest set is excellent quality, I was very impressed. TLG need to pay attention to this. Not relying on litigation to squash other brands.

On the profile page, it was at the top of the page next to Edit Profile. However, it could also be that this feature is closed to members at certain ranks.

Oof, I have never gotten that to work! I might go and have another poke around and see... EDIT: So, I see an option to "Edit Cover Photo" and I was able to upload an image and position it.
