Ultra Agents, the second wave was not released in the UK. It was S@H or Lego Store only. But when I had the spare funds, the sets were sold out. The same with a number of the Elves sets, they were not in retailers I visited regularly, so I had to wait. Missed some.

I got LEGO in a Happy Meal, I have had LEGO tokens to collect from Kellogg's cereal, there was a free set in a box of cookies. I have at least three copies of the racers Sub Zero as a supermarket that focuses on frozen food was giving them away! Collaboration is not a bad thing, nor is it new. The issue of TLG spreading itself too thin is 20 years out of date. All the current projects and products that are not the core building toy are handled by outside partners. Yes, 20 years ago it was all in house, they learned that lesson.

Primark had those last year right? I love mine. Or, of course, the official brand store/LEGOLAND ones. On another note: I also have a number of LEGO Moleskin notebooks, they are fantastic. My Grandad is was a real fan of the Moleskin books and bought me a LEGO one as a gift. I have since collected quite a few different notebooks with LEGO features. They are an example of an excellent collaboration that has been going for years and years.

H20: Fantasy's Back on the Menu!
Peppermint_M replied to Lind Whisperer's topic in The Heroica Archive
Magnhildr Race: Etherian Age: ? Barbarian Level 1 Power - 4 Health - 8/8 Gold - 10 Equipment - Sapphire Naginata (Polearm/Halberd) (WP:3), Inventory - Potion, Mead, Little is known about Magnhildr; "she" has been recorded by the tribes for centuries, wandering in and out of settlements with useful items to trade - food, hides, tools and scrap the people could use traded for entertaining trinkets. A barbarian by necessity, the icy wastelands are a dangerous place. Those who have simply encountered her have been scared off by the stern looking figure. However, the families she has traded with for generations know a different side of the Etherian they call Mags. A person who loves the fractals of the ice she wanders through and has been known to swap a valuable item for a child's drawing. Theme Music ---- Did I get the right flavour? I have built a little backdrop that I hope also fits the theming. Sorry that you have another Barbarian, but I am not a sophisticated player when it comes to tactics, I prefer the story telling. -

So, this is in direct violation of the rules. I am locking it, Staff have taken notice.

They are not sets? They are partnerships with other brands. LEGO are not producing these products, they have licenced their branding and their appearance (or whatever you want to call it) to other companies. So unless there are terrible associations people have with that partner brand, then they just get profit. Also, it is a little vague about "Collaborations": Right now, LEGO has it's third campaign with Sainsbury's going on. Their Create the World partnership/promotion means if you spend £10 in the Sainsbury's supermarket, you get 4 LEGO cards, these go in a collector album. This year the theme is Live Amazingly, the album is all about healthy eating, food origins and healthy living and there are 140 cards with minifigures and Creator builds on. The campaign is certainly a collaboration between LEGO and the supermarket...

Manual is very useful to know, as automatics are rare here, so learning with gears and a clutch is for the best. It might seem daunting, but once you are used to it then everything comes naturally. Also, it is most enjoyable to drive when you are in control of the gears (or so I find).

I like this combination of storage box and MOC, looks like an excellent way to build up a space base across a layout. Thanks for sharing.

Help with identifying parts/sets!
Peppermint_M replied to WhiteFang's topic in General LEGO Discussion
That is Megablocks for certain. Those parts are rails for the Skatepark sets and turned up with similar uses elsewhere. I have some in silver also. -
Problems with uploading pictures
Peppermint_M replied to gvb2003's topic in Forum Information and Help
I use my computer, I will have to take a look from the app. Also, most apps have a Share option, see if one of those is BBCode or Copy Link for the image, then you should be able to paste that link into a post on EB. -
Has the LEGO group released too much 18+ sets this year?
Peppermint_M replied to JintaiZ's topic in General LEGO Discussion
You made this thread because? So far there is no gathering of opinions: you argue against any that are not conforming to your own. You seem to dislike the idea of 18+ sets, but you also do like them. You keep redefining the poll... What was the goal of this thread? -
Has the LEGO group released too much 18+ sets this year?
Peppermint_M replied to JintaiZ's topic in General LEGO Discussion
So put a tick in the "not seen The LEGO Movie" box. The mind boggles that there are people on a LEGO fan forum who have not watched the movie (even out of morbid curiosity). The only time there is too much product is when the market cannot support it. Currently, LEGO seems to be in a strong position to start pushing into other less traditional Toy markets and have discovered that there is an audience and an appetite for a product aimed solely at the Adult age bracket. Maybe in a few years time they decide that the branding is not working or those type of products are not selling, so they change. Basic became Classic. City branding has absorbed what would have once been a distinct sub-theme (Arctic, Mining etc). Things will change again when the current marketing strategy stops shifting product and making sales. "Too much" is only any kind of issue if you desire to own everything possible. Choices might have to be made on which set to purchase, but deciding what you can and can't get is part of life as an adult. (I would love a brand new Ford Raptor, or maybe a very early Land Rover. Instead, I chose a sensible commuting car that was within my budget and low cost to run. grown-up stuff) -

It is beginning to look like you don't fit the 18+ criteria for the sets or this forum. Any one of the sets marketed as 18+ could appeal to a teen easily. Love Star Wars? The Sith mosaic sets look great as decoration for a room. Things do not need to be played with to be fun or have value. Heck, I know people who build their kids nameplates for their room from LEGO and while there is no play value, they love to have it. Their name, in LEGO bricks on their room door! And if that statistic could truly match accurately across the population, LEGO have now sold a product to 1 in 10 people in the developed world. That is a very good number for sales of any product! -

They are not rated as 18+, they are marketed as products for those over 18. So, Not A Kids Toy so that an adult would not feel like they are purchasing a childish thing. The 18+ sets are implied to be premium products, items for the grown-up who has a fondness for LEGO, an art project or item for a hobbyist. Just a marketing gimmick. -
