I always heartily approve of figbarfs, they are a super fun way to play about with your own stories and characters. These are some great choices for creating some stand out characters. Thanks for sharing this bunch, Netflix Original Animation when?

I would shake a fist as you guys are all on the same time zone and bust out answers before I am seeing the new post, but so far I am not sure I would be awake enough to get them right -
[Need help] Instructions for Lego Belville 5843
Peppermint_M replied to brickbride's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Blimey. I bought that set nearly ten years ago on eBay. I may have had the instructions included, as Bricklink does list the set as having something, but I can't really remember. If I have them, they will be in one of my boxes of LEGO instructions... Unfortunately, I can't find much more on what the purchase included and it is such an old listing that there are no details left to find (bar the eBay payment confirmation I have in my e-mail archives!) I am something of a packrat and a fan of vintage LEGO inserts, so if I did get one, I would have kept hold of it. I can't promise it will turn up, but I will have a good check through my storage. I bought it for the lovely blue doors and snowflakes, for my Ice Palace MOC -
Excellent build, love the angular armour and the dynamic pose. Thanks for sharing

Hi. You can deeplink images from a host to a post. Bricksafe is a popular choice. The site uploader is for your avatar image only. There are tutorials on putting photos into posts in the Forum Information and Help section

Eurobricks Event 2023 Billund sign up-topic

Aw, will miss you but those are very good reasons to not be at the event. I am sure Amfenz will absolutely smash those exams -
Those Football teams have global appeal, fans the world over would buy their stadium. I remember old reports about places in China dedicated to Manchester United. Villages in Africa where the fans would update their David Beckham figure according to his latest hair-do... Which is why I might have to build my own Highbury or Emirates.

I believe another issue we don't really notice is Nostalgia making older themes have more of an impact on us than they made statistically or in longevity. I loved my UFO figures from the two small sets I had, but UFO was a small subtheme that some of the older contingent of AFOL wouldn't know or "rate" as it wasn't in their life. People today would likely grumble about the larger elements in builds, uncomplicated construction and design choices. However I would call it a classic as the figures were personal favourites. My younger brother is in his early twenties. He calls Power Miners and Agents classics that were favourites. Themes I recall moderating for as people complained that it was not more Rock Raiders and Alpha Team! Our perception of childhood favourites will forever influence our perception of modern equivalents. When it comes to things like sweets (Candies) and fizzy drinks, here in the UK it is probably accurate to say they are very different and modern is (to us) not as good; Regulations on flavourings and sugar content means a lot of products have less or no sugar (Or outright do not exist. Panda Pops eh British Millennials? Miss those!) and different flavours as the artificial has been swapped for natural. (Alas, fake strawberry, your candy sweetness will not be seen again). Add in changes in society, like the internet letting us engage with something faster and in a greater capacity, plus the quick turnover necessary as kids can encounter things a lot quicker than in the 90s. Again, UK perspective: I had the inlay posters for the Theme and an Argos catalogue to see what new LEGO was out there. The odd shop that had been selling LEGO since the 60s would have catalogues for LEGO (Lots of Newsagents it seemed) and those were a treasured treat. Now you can log on to LEGO.com and see everything current, recent past and incoming. Again, skewing out perceptions. So yeah, just some theories I have.

As curator for some those themes mentioned: I wouldn't say the themes are classic, more the concepts are classic. Submarine adventures and Treasure hunting archaeologists have appeared a few times in recent years. We are getting some Indiana Jones sets, Johnny Thunder was not exactly a copy but he was certainly close to Henry Jones Jr. (Sprung from the same source is the most polite way to put it), so the concept is there. The same with the City Jungle sets; ruins and treasure to find with some hardy and well equipped people to seek them out? Conceptually similar. As Ondra (sort of) said, truly original ideas are not hitting the mark like Ninjago managed to, but Hidden Side lasted as long as any smaller theme did in the past. It is a weird one.

I have checked my neon-yellow parts against some of the popular alternative brands and it is slightly similar to the current MEGA produced parts but has a little more shine to it. Something like a smoother finish really. I can see a close match, but so far no cracking or damage issues like reddish brown or colour consistency problems like dark red.

Help with identifying parts/sets!
Peppermint_M replied to WhiteFang's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Bricklink has an advanced search option to find parts produced by year, which if you look at an individual part you can see what years it was available between. Though that may take a little more work than you want! -
Sets you wish existed is pretty infinite. I wish there was a minifig scale Gypsy Danger. I highly doubt that will ever be a set! I am able to MOC but the space required for such a build, let alone the bricks, I would have to be very rich, or get a commission from someone who is! While some may see "Make a MOC" as gatekeeping or a slap in the face, I have never used it as such. I would forever encourage people to try and build for themselves and happily share tips to achieve something they are looking for. It is not impossible to colour swap a car set so it can be civilian and not police. Friends has lots of private homes as sets, even just swapping certain colours is near to making a MOC and will provide you a close approximation to "what you want" (if more houses is indeed what you want). It is never to mean offence or to rank above someone A girl can dream! Not to be facetious, but if TLG could provide all production parts in all production colours, it would be my form of heaven. Maybe add in people packs/accessory sets to populate with minifigures and perhaps prints on certain parts (like tech, livery, signage)... That would be wonderful.

Would anyone be able to make a purchase on Bricklink for me? They are Denmark based seller, so I will be getting some crazy extra charges! I can PayPal or bring cash. Of course, I can cover postage too.

EB Event 2023 information topic

Is there any thought to seeking out one of the re-sale shops in Billund? I hear tell of places where people sell on their unwanted LEGO products. Of course, if it turns out that these are not as great as in the past, then no worries. -
Just saw this review. Looking promising! I have not seen (or looked, heh) into cross-platform play but right now, I am certainly going to get it for my Switch to enjoy.

This one looks pretty fun, I will be spending a lot of time building cars in the designer, I am sure. Maybe, depending on mulitplayer, we could figure a way to have a racing tournament for Eurobricks.

Binging Electrasy because it is the sound of my younger years. You know, when you were 12 but wanted to be 16 or older and there was music that your parents certainly didn't listen to, so it was yours. Millennial as anything.

I managed to nab some original Xalax Racers with a poster for under £10 (with postage!) pretty nifty. I also found a LEGO Gadgets book that was un-used in a Charity shop for £3, bought it for my kiddo cousin. He is a big LEGO fan and I thought the fun technic mechanisms would be a great booster pack for him. I did pass up a box of parts in another charity shop, I wanted to leave stuff for younger fans.

Hello and welcome to the forum! Help with your creations would depend on the theme of the build; Choose the best fit theme for what you need help with (Castle in Historic, Batmobile in Licensed - etc) As for LEGO Ideas promotion: Here on EB we prefer you to present a MOC as the main part, then you are welcome to have a link in the post to go and vote for it. Something called "VOTE for My IDEAS build Plz" as a thread title would not be appropriate, but a nice MOC presentation is more likely to get noticed.

White bricks slightly different, real, fake or old?
Peppermint_M replied to StarrySkies64's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Yeah, those are all legit looking bricks. As Mylenium said, a lot of older plastic dyes used minerals or metals which makes them opaque. Later laws for toy production meant these got removed in later production runs (later by years and decades) but as all LEGO bricks carry on matching each other, you can pick up 60s and 70s brick that will look enough like modern and that have been kept well there are few signs of their age. -
Very evocative of ancient mystery and civilisation lost. I do like the clean lines of the build and the base. Thanks for sharing
