LEGO Ninjago 2024 Rumours and Discussion
Peppermint_M replied to THELEGOBATMAN's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
I should have made these a while ago! If anyone wants to link posts from the 2023 thread I can split them off into here. -
Hmm. Not sure what is going wrong then. I have no points showing, or any other indication that the gold brick code has resulted in anything at all.
-
Anyone else given this a try? I have scanned a few bricks and got some codes, put them in once a week (it says one entry a week, so I haven't tried more) and both times, it accepts the code and nothing else happens. Not even a "Sorry. No prize with this code." Then if I try it again, the code isn't valid (of course, as I have used it). Has anyone successfully even earned a free downloadable?

I love this group. So dramatic, much metal. Wow. If you like Metal or Opera, give it a go.

Got back into Manga of late, I wasn't finding anything that interested me, beyond my Legend of Zelda manga until I noticed Atom: The Beginning on the shelf in Waterstone's. A remixed version of Astro Boy/Mighty Atom and so far really cool SciFi with slice of life trappings. On the comic front, Robotech is having a resurgence through Titan comics and what has been published so far is really good. It is not great that Robotech Remix has been probably cancelled, but the Rick Hunter series is looking promising.

Oof, I posted in here 13 years and change ago. Time flies and I still love that duck!

Welcome to Adult LEGO fandom OP. I don't really think anyone will be seriously misled by a few missing antistuds on a render. Certainly, this would not stand up in court in any form of class action (the true indicator of misled consumers). Now, a whole extra feature or character missing would be misleading, or a picture that included the vault GWP without making it clear that it's a whole extra set.

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
Peppermint_M replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
Alright. The discussion can get back to modular buildings please. Bigotry isn't welcome, you are entitled to an opinion on matters, but do not broadcast them here. A warning to all: Speak hateful things and you will be shown the door. -

25 Years of Adventure! Cat. C Voting
Peppermint_M replied to Peppermint_M's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
I can't count these, that is a higher total that available points to award. Sorry. I will have to consider this a spoiled ballot. Per previous, I cannot count your votes, your joining dates are beyond the 21/08. -
25 Years of Adventure! Cat. B Voting
Peppermint_M replied to Peppermint_M's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
As per the Cat A thread. Thanks, but sorry these can't be counted. Also per Cat A thread, there would not have been a change in overall winner. Note to self next time, I may need to make the join date rules a lot clearer. -

Peppermint_M replied to Peppermint_M's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Sorry, these votes cannot be counted, you joined after Monday 21st when voting launched. Sorry if that was unclear in the rules for this voting thread, however it is a rule placed to prevent false voting by duplicate accounts. To reassure everyone: These votes would not have caused any change to who won, and was only a small change to the total points the winner gained. -
In addition to MAB's wise words, as a longtime moderator on a forum: communities seldom like it when someone comes in to bash what they like and use vulgar language to do so. Repeatedly. Positive input results in positive responses. On topic: What qualifications make a set Classic? I would love a reissue of the Res-Q hovercraft, would that count?
-
How about LEGO goes ultra classic: A big box of red and white basic bricks with a few windows and doors thrown in? Being real here, Change or die is the thing in business. I think getting the odd throwback set is pretty fun. However, we are hitting a point where the original Star Wars sets and we are not far from the first Batman sets qualifying for "Classic" and that is a reminder of he inevitable march of time...

You each have three points to award. Please vote by posting in this thread with the format [Entry Number] [Number of Points Awarded]. Say I want to award points to Entry 1 and Entry 3 then I would post: or Reasonable variation is fair enough but keep the entry number clear and the points awarded clear! Anyone who joined today can vote, but members who register after today's date cannot vote, to prevent any shady voting. The prize up for grabs is 50 Euro to spend on LEGO sets on the LEGO online shop. Entries, in order of posting in the entry thread are: 01 Adventure Zeppelin by EVE 02 Dr. Kilroy's Sky Car by kritch 03 Hunting HALF-TRACKS by CDKii 04 Vehicle of Mr. Samochodzik by --pichu-- 05 Johnny's Sidecar by ABrickDreamer 06 The Cursed Race by Rui Miguel 07 Desert Secrets by Rui Miguel 08 Gail Storm's car by The Reader 09 Otto Shnurrbart’s M3 half-track by Yatkuu 10 Johnny Thunder’s car by Sympatik Brick 11 All Terrain Trapper by kahir88 12 Baron von Barron's Land-Water Raider by HAL-9001 13 Remake of 5918+5920 by Johnny_Thunderstruck 14 amphibious vehicle by Bito_ruto 15 Adventurer's Paddleboat by jaogosma 16 Pippin's dog sled by Hell On Earth 17 Scorpion Tracker by Zapalski 18 Harry Cane plane by Zapalski 19 Steam Boat by KotZ 20 Hydroplan by BardDandelion -

Now to feel old: Thirty years Ago when I was first in school my little friends and I would play Superted and Fireman Sam. Then it was Power Rangers and Hero Turtles ( could not have Ninjas in 90s Britain) King Arthur and his knights and Robin Hood were also popular games of make believe. So while some are probably counted as more "Worthy" than others thanks to a classical association, we still identified as characters in our games. As for football? Tony Adams all the way for me! But a few Eric Cantona and Ryan Giggs were claimed by my peers. It's a lot more dated, all this "polluted" imagination.

It was also documented that TLG was trying to be too much; clothing brand, theme park company, video game developer, homeware... The list goes on. They were producing and financing all of this stuff in-house, tying up and losing money. All the similar products today are not in-house, TLG has lisenced out their IP (logo, brick with stud design, minifigs, theme graphics) to companies. So today, a Ninjago lunchbox is produced by a lunchbox company but in the past TLG would have leased or owned manufacturing to produce their lunch boxes. Or the games today are made by other developers instead of LEGO Multimedia.
