Since they opened, the Discovery Centres always made it clear that no unaccompanied adults. As such, my only family member who went took his best mate and that said best mate's little brother, at 20, they were both too old, but a 13 year old was welcome. Apparently the bigger builds were nice enough but the experiences were "okay". I sometimes consider stealing my little cousin (9) or my friend (he is 13 but already way taller than me so might not work!) but the nearest is in Birmingham and if I as going to drive two hours for LEGO experiences then I would head to Windsor. Merlin has come under fire for disallowing all adults without a child, a few that advocate for those who have a reduced mental capacity (ergo a much more childlike mindset and understanding) mostly family members who are "furious" that the person in question was denied entry. Which I agree with, let groups and individuals enter even if you need to pre-book the access (like accessible tickets at a concert or in the UK many places offer a free or reduced ticket for a Carer to attend with someone). Surely School Day times could be quiet enough.

Did you upload the image or deeplink the image? They shouldn't do that... EDIT -- I have given it a go with a link to my photo stream and it seems to work ok...

Action and Adventure Themes Discussion
Peppermint_M replied to Peppermint_M's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
In 8 years some of the deeplinks have died, but this article was first created to explain the gist of Action and Adventure themes. Maybe I should make an update...- 226 replies

What next vintage set could be recreated by TLG ?
Peppermint_M replied to Khargeust's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Aquazone! Either a base or one of the big subs would be fantastic. 6175: Crystal Explorer Sub, 6195: Neptune Discovery Lab and 6190: Shark's Crystal Cave would be excellent subjects for tribute sets. It has been a good long time since the classic sets of the 90s. A lot of cool parts exist that could help recreate the shapes and overall idea of the three sets I mentioned. -
I think the Indiana Jones sets rather tread on the toes currently, like the LotR sets caused a castle Hiatus and most SF fans bemoan the lack of a true in house Sci Fi theme due to Star Wars/Marvel. However the more recent 90 Years of play set had a mini-build Sphinx, and the Haunted House/Drop tower set was Von Baron manor. Also, visiting the LEGOLand parks in Europe at least, there are still hints of old Johnny Thunder and Co. Alas, this thread is for discussion on the contest, not the Adventurer theme.

[MOC] Medieval castle at Ghent "Gravensteen"
Peppermint_M replied to Imano's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I hope you received an excellent grade for this lovely project. A* from me! Thanks for sharing your work here. -
Seconded on the price of IDEAS sets. Considering that the advertising costs have to have been offset by the voting process and hype, they are pricey purchases!

Excellent! I love seeing Adventurer creations. I would have an Adventurer contest every day of the year if I could get away with it

It can be any kind of style or look, as long as you can place the character there. Rudo in a Dive Bar, Mike in a treehouse, Imhotep in his tomb... You are welcome to create anything you can think of!

[MOC] AquaJune a month of Aquazone
Peppermint_M replied to the Inventor's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
There is a special place in my heart for Aquazone, two little impulse sets were my very first "proper" LEGO sets and I still have vivid memories of playing with them. These rather excellent builds certainly capture the look of the theme but also brings them up to date a little. Thanks for sharing them here Aquajune is a great concept, I may have to try and participate next year!- 13 replies

No, baby bodies can't hold things and have much smaller heads. -
Lego Dreamzzz 2023
Peppermint_M replied to bricks4live1972's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
I do love a lot of these set designs and I am hoping that the launch LEGO has for this means it will be in lots more shops (aka competitive pricing). So, I think buying them all is on the cards PAB will be for bonus parts -

Not only do we get amazing sets, but those figures are great! Might be another theme I need to get all the sets. -
Hi It is one of your account settings, the signature bar is not editable until you hit a certain post point. I believe it is 10. Once you have the access, it should there for you in Account Settings.

LEGO Monkie Kid 2023
Peppermint_M replied to Peppermint_M's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Well, I was polite. I honestly have no idea what any of that was in aid of. All right all, please enjoy the continued discussion on Monkie Kid. I actually bought some sets this year (instead of raiding the online PaB for parts) as I decided to focus on sets I would have no chance finding in regular retail here in the UK. I was very pleased with the Mei's Dragon Jet, the build was entertaining and the design was very nice. Monkie Kid's Combi Mech was also a delight, I have been looking at parts to maybe replicate/MOD it for a little EXO Force project I have on the back burner. All in all, I wish TLG would release it through more supermarkets and the like, simply so it gets more exposure here in the UK. -
Wonderful! I love the larger frog statues in the alcoves. Got to love a whole colour collection. I think at least two are in the flat silver colour. The contrast is hard to see unless you put a flat sliver element on a dark grey shade. The whole thing makes me think of this musical composition. (Maybe not everyone's cup of tea, but it is atmospheric). Thanks for sharing this We don't mind TFOLs, as long as they behave , just in case anyone else is concerned.

LEGO Monkie Kid 2023
Peppermint_M replied to Peppermint_M's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Hmm, considering I only asked you to remain on topic once with one warning, you are being a little childish here aren't you? I believe I have interacted with you precisely once, unless of course you happed to be a returning offender with a previous ban. Considering how you don't comply to the posting standards (the most basic request being proper capitalisation and punctuation), you have taken so poorly to a single warning and now you are posting personal attacks, I believe it would be justifiable to terminate membership. At the very least due to the maturity and age rules of the forum, agreed upon when you joined. Or, do you think you can be a positive and contributing member and remain? Normally this would be conducted elsewhere, but I don't believe you would react well to that. -
It has been just over a month since the contest launched, but never fear! You have until 18th of August to enter and new members are more than welcome. Check out the Three exciting categories, the contest rules and discussion Here.

Help with identifying parts/sets!
Peppermint_M replied to WhiteFang's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I went through a phase on Stud.io of building lamp-posts and the telescope was one of my favourite parts to put in, it just looks so much like a peg/post piece that you would look around in those spaces.
