  1. The Kaliphlin Tourist Board is proud to present, the greatest spectacle of the Southern Sands After you have visited Day 1 - The Withered Woods Day 2 - The Jungles of Gorr Day 3 - The Lone Mountain Day 4 - The Qar-Akhen Marshes Day 5 - The Dune Sea come and see the toughest race in all Historica! The origins of this event are lost to the mists of time. Some say it hearkens back to a time when Kaliphlin was a green and fertile land, dotted with tranquil lakes of crystal purity where the ornamental pleasure barges of the rich flocked like colourful birds, Others say it was started last year by a bunch of nouveau riche college kids looking to invent a heritage to disguise their unsavoury origins. But none dispute that this is the pre-eminent endurance challenge in Kaliphlin. 12 teams, carrying boats that represent the creatures of the zodiac, will race across the 12 stages from Mpya Stedor. The teams set off on Midwinter's Eve and the winning team will cross the finish line in Ras-el-Ahken in time for the biggest New Year's Eve party in Kaliphlin. Here, our artists depicts the second checkpoint of the first stage. The pandas hold a slender lead over the yellow dragons. But who will lead at the end of the day? Why not visit us and find out for yourself. In Kaliphlin, a beautiful, friendly, and mostly safe place for the discerning traveller.
  2. The marshes are where it's at! Very atmospheric, love the surface texture.
  3. I just love these colours together. Sand is our gift and our curse, you have totally nailed it with this.
  4. Belgium is well worth a visit, great food and beer, beautiful buildings, nice people. Antwerp is a great city, I think you will enjoy it
  5. As always Eryn, very impressive! I love the mushrooms, hope the birds won't eat the frogs. Your editing skills are so sharp! How do you get such crisp edges on these notoriously difficult pieces? Great build
  6. Loving this whole series, another superb build. Lovely textures and colours.
  7. Excellent birds, very pure and economical. This is such a fantastic scene.
  8. I love this, such a powerful vig. Beautiful water and spectacular vegetation, that's what Gorr is all about!
  9. Beautiful Kaliphlin! Great build Kayne, love the birch tree and the undergrowth. And the tower!
  10. Nice to see the PGTC enjoying the feast! Duc leStrange eating his greens, makes a change from rats and bats
  11. This is a really nice series of vigs. Your rook treatment is especially cool, the detailing on all of your recent builds is very impressive. It's somehow Lego-scale, that scale where buildings are too small for the minifigs who inhabit them but it somehow works out beautifully all the same. Great stuff.
  12. Any of the guilds would be delighted to see you join. All the guilds are great so it doesn't really matter. But Kaliphlin is the best and your characters would fit in very well
  13. Love it. Beautiful colours, nice story. The build fits right in to our guild discussion about our new city on the Nocturnus trade route. Superb.
  14. I was just thinking, we don't have much in the way of urban structures so far in Kaliphlin. Must fix that for the Master Architect Challenge. It would be cool to do a community build for this rather mysterious city, with builds around the size that de Gothia did so brilliantly. Kind of human-sized rather than my usual Grandiose Challenge Architecture. Who thinks they can get something in before the end of June? I am all for, build some bits first and work out the map later. Loving the ideas so far for this town.
  15. This is superb. the white-leaved tree gives it a very poignant elegiac quality. Lovely story and great build.
  16. By convention Cpt Mugwash as the original builder, or Da Maximus as the rediscoverer of the city would have naming rights. Or, first one to post a building there gets to name it! We can all pitch ideas in, of course. My suggestion is "Gate".
  17. Yes, it a well know and flourishing trading centre. While a lot of our trade with Mitgardia and Nocturnus is by sea, this is a crucial route. Is Nestlands so far North? The bird-gods are almost in Nocturnus!
  18. surely something sinister is about to happen.....
  19. Dorfl and Detritus are great but Nobby Nobbs is my favourite!
  20. I thought those were 101 dalmatians et c! Spooky chapter.....
  21. Congratulations Ecc, good luck!!
  22. Choose a guild, post a picture and backstory of your character, et volia! you have joined. Have a look at the first few pages of any of the individual guilds for examples. Maybe you should put a guild-colour flag in there too for some of the guilds (see first page of the guild topic for colours). Easy! And Welcome!
  23. We could try democracy, despotism, or divining the entrails. The PGTC will prosper under any system of rule. We are firm supporters of the rule of Flagg, it is his oil revenue that keeps us rich, fat, and happy, and out property prices absurdly expensive, allowing us to raise cheap debt and build coastal villas. Our votes can certainly be bought by any of the candidates, though we prefer an enlighted technocratic administration for this particular job and we would certainly support Ska, Masa, or Kai's candidature. In the matter of skulking, becloaked, and goatee'd Grand Viziers, it is an entirely different set of qualifications we look for and Lord DaMaximus would be the ideal choice. Some great free builds coming through guys! Love it! The sandstorm idea is a brilliant one but I will not realistically be able to contribute much, maybe a small vig. Let me know if I am designated a particular scene. Sweet tag!
