There's something about the last build and the ending that gives me a sense of optimism, like a 70s Disney movie. I really like the action scene in the interior, great posing there. Excellent work

Great entry, the old marching in the aqueduct trick. It never fails! I love your windows, brilliant idea. The food fight feels very real somehow. What does the old man by the gate think?

Just, Wow! Epic! I love that physical representation of the constitution through the 3 pillars, it's an amazingly clever idea and incredibly well built. Great parts use with the Dragon heads, and the double-decker interior is very well proportioned so we can see it all. The first battle scene is like something from a movie, so well detailed on both sides of the gate, and with great action. The middle build is lovely too. Fantastic entry, and I love how you leave the story open.

Challenge VI: If only peace would come now...
robuko replied to de Gothia's topic in Guilds of Historica
Love it. The interior scene is especially eyecatching with the sumptuous gallery. And who doesn't love a happy ending, especially when it's so beautifully presented. I agree the FP build is a little blocky, the vig of knocking the doors in is first class though. As said before, you are so good at this intimate scale of building. I puzzled over this since they were first released, and now I have the answer. It's so simple you'll laugh... stack of 2x2 bricks inside! -
I totally agree. Those pillars are excellent. I think the first build is my favourite, but they are all superb. The burned tree and the fallen under the shields is a very tender scene. Nice technical work on the interior scene. Your presentation and photography are outstanding. Great entry.

Guilds of Historica Introduction/General Discussion Thread

I am simply astounded at how good all the entries are. Stories, presentation, and builds. We've come a long way, this is a phenomenal way to finish the official story. Well done to everyone! -
3 fantastic builds there Torgar! I love the epic scale of the interior scene, and the throne is just superb, as is the use of colour and contrast. The switch from the mini FP to full scale Vesper Castle is so clever. I like how you tied the 5 guilds together and put your own guild in the hero role, but in the end it is Rellik. Why does he surrender though? Great entry

Fantastic ending, it's like Z's in reverse. I really like the scaffold scene and the procedural legal debate. So glad you could enter after the exhaustion of Queens' Cross! I still need closure on Petera, Paulos and Dugal.

And what happened next? What a cliffhanger! Very nice photography on the interior scene.

You control the action! Fantastic Z, just fantastic. A blaze of glory. Well done on every scene and a brilliant story. Those working catapults are the bomb! Le Roi est mort. Vive le Roi! Allegiances, whatever. The PGTC is only in it for the money. We will trade with anyone. Those Valyrians look to be rich, maybe we can do some business.

I really like the use of dinosaur flippers for foliage, that's a wonderful idea, it works so well for cactus. As always, beautiful builds and presentation. Another feathery end! Too funny!

That is an awesome last scene! Hilarious. I love the columns in the first build. Great entry.

I guess I'll just pay up for him. -
Reacher Gilt was the inspiration for my current sigfig Rasputin Jones, although Rasputin has not actually done anything wicked or dishonest. Nice rendition, and interesting...why is he a dwarf?. I always envision him as a Tony Blair or Richard Branson type, with flowing locks and a big "I'm ripping you off" grin.

^Very nice, Gideon! No orcs or fire yet...looking forward to the finale! Both of those builds are outstanding in their presentation. While the aftermath of Queens Cross build has some very nice techniques, I would go for the last shot with the micro castle and mountains, it has something quite special about it and really catches the eye. -
I really love the vibrancy of colour in the Kaliphlin scene. Way to go!

Wow, DM, you have really developed a taste for the epic! I say well played Mitgardia, there were a lot of very high quality builds in that blizzard. My Challenge 6 story is up at last. It concerns Love and War. -
FIRST POST UPDATED with complete story. Thankyou all for your kind comments. These were some sketches to set up the arrival of the army at Queens Cross. Thanks Ecc, I have been running with the heliotropes since Challenge 1. Finally they will see action as Archimedes intended! Thanks kabel. It's quite a simple support of 2x6 plates under the carpet, arranged in an H shape supported by a column of 2x2 bricks.

This is great. I love all of the first build sequence, the landscaping on the second is lovely too. The rockwork and columns on the interior are notable too. I bet this is the only build where the heroes metamorphose into ducks!

Having checked your flickr, I am very much looking forward to the rest of this story! The best is yet to come!

Great vig. Of all the things to build! Respect! -
Agreed on the investment potential. I am very pleased for the fans, but I don't think I need all that black. Mind you, that's what I said about the UCS MF..... Gothic arches are the future! I prefer to have them in the tans and greys though.

^ interesting point WallE2624. Lego's deal is with Disney and Disney has owned Marvel since X-Men the Last Stand which was a Fox production. We got Magneto and Wolverine though. Does anyone know if the movie company matters? My guess is no. Other noteworthy actors (to me) in the new film: Jennifer Lawrence, Peter Dinklage, Ellen Page, Michael Fassbender, Ian McKellen, James McAvoy. I hope the new Thor movie means we get Kat Dennings, and that Natalie Portman can the join the "minifigs for multiple movie" club.
