  1. SarahJoy, it's very nice perspective and photography, but forced perspective is a different concept that creates the illusion of distance, typically by building different depth levels at different scale as well as through photographic focus. I really like your use of texture and shape on the ground here.
  2. Distribution is actually not that wide. I haven't seen them at Ins Point, I guess the price point is too low. There are about 6 stalls selling them in the Temple Street market which is also in Yau Ma Tei though.
  3. Absolutely brilliant Jared! The frogs for lions are hilarious. All you need is a few hundred domestic helpers under there for a nice Sunday scene.
  4. Local toy shop in wan chai market.
  5. I saw them yesterday at US$10 for 2 packs of 4.
  6. I am honestly more excited about SY and Decool releases than Lego at the moment
  7. Sure, here it is. Well worth reading his comments, in my view.
  8. Phenomenal! What a labour of love. It must have taken a very long time. Fantastic motion, and the editing is superb. First class! Love it!
  9. Nice job Maximunus! I thought you only work in purple and orange in Ruadh?
  10. Excellent build and a very important message.
  11. Different people use different parts and have different styles. Some use only system pieces, others use technic and Bionicle. It's really up to you to find what works for you. Having said that, I totally agree with Gideon, small bits are more useful. Plates and tiles especially. And 25 is too big for a starter army, 6 would be plenty. Realistically you can only get about 10-15 figs on a 32x32 base and still see any details of the MOC.
  12. Being rude about people who don't agree with you does not help your argument agoodfella. The major "con" to me is that without the exclusive figures, we simply would not get these characters in Lego at all. Please see Polywen's flickr post ti that effect.
  13. I have extra stock of ninja go, Chima and city sets from when I have bought too much on clearance for my son's birthday or Christmas. For myself, just the cantina, x men jet, exo suit, and superman space ship.... But I might inherit my son's tmnt van if he sees something he likes more.
  14. Well I'm on the pro exclusives side I guess. My concern at the moment is that the fake makers are getting so good that the limited supply is not really going to be so limited in future. So I would request that lego puts more attention into somehow water marking the real figures or packing. I have posted several reviews on the bootleg figures thread. I would note that the Decool Green Arrow and Phoenix (desirable figures mentioned earlier in this thread) are excellent and I can recommend them for anyone who wants the figure but does not want to pay high prices.
  15. So, my Lele Red Hulk came with 2 right arms and no left arms..... Someone asked for a better shot of the Decool Shazam a while back, but, really, mine was awful. Following my usual convention, fakes on the left, genuine article on the right. The SY Green Lantern pack was pretty interesting because of the new colours for the accessories - flat silver technic pin, trans colours guns The SDCC Lantern clone printing was a bit too bright and wrong colour hair. The other dudes have basically the same print. I have no idea who these are, but the one bottom right is interesting because he has 2 heads. I also picked up a copy of the Decool turtles set, which I was quite impressed with Kraang printing is the wrong colour on head, torso and legs Shadow Leonardo is extremely good. I don't have the originals in hand for the other figures, but the Decool copies looked pretty good to me.
  16. Yup, same. I really like the boat and the water coming out of the frame Great to see you back too, buddy
  17. Fantastic intro BrickCurve. I love the base, the different terrain looks great, especially the mine and the grass lands. I can feel the stiff sea breeze! It's very atmospheric. What an awesome fort. Where is this in Kaliphlin? edit: linked photo
  18. Welcome wanderer! The shield is earned by participating in the main "chapter" challenges.
  19. Welcome to Kaliphlin BrickCurve! Grab a tankard of mead and tell us your story - this thread is the right place to post it. Great to have you join us!
  20. Bregir, Yes! I was looking at some old Roman acqueducts yesterday and I decided I am going to build an ancient ruined one. Jdw, sounds like a superb idea!
  21. Very recognisable classic at a small scale. Love it. The nose is a very tricky area. It's very hard to replicate the sharp creases of the original there. Good luck with the project!
  22. ASM 2 very good naturalistic performances from all the leads. I really did not see the plot twist coming. Blubbed at this one. 8/10 The 100 year old man who climbed out a window and disappeared. A hilarious film (Swedish). It's like a Tarentino/Danny Boyle/Wes Anderson cross over on a Forrest Gump frame. Really liked it. 8/10. CA:TWS again. This is a very important movie right now. Especially for Americans. La Grande Belleza. Beautifully shot and acted but I found it really dull and not very meaningful. 4/10
  23. That's fine, plenty of GoH members are in the same position. There are 3-4 big challenges a year and the rest is just filling time between the big ones. Very nice build, I like the weathering.
