  1. still no B-model pics yet for the 9397 I see.
  2. so this technic_titan buys a gearbox that Paul most definitely designed and even leaves this feedback for it "Great Design wonderful seller. Thank you for offering your product!!" then turns around and starts building and selling the exact same gearbox and when questioned about it he says that the design isn't Paul's? really?!? wow, just wow.
  3. I really wish I would have seen this before destroying one of my hubs with a screwdriver.
  4. Wow is this ever AWESOME!!!
  5. But did the designers seriously do that because of his displeasure with the toggle joints not being in black in the 8081 and they finally have made a return in the 9395? I know he had commented that it was important to him that they made a return. I also see that Jurgen's new yellow car uses them, so anyone that wants to build it would definitely need them unless they wanted to use light bluish gray.
  6. I accidentally posted this in the 2nd half 2012 thread. Over at technicbricks I read some speculation as to the letters on the license plate sticker on the front of the 9395 perhaps being a message to a certain builder who complained about the #44 toggle joints not being made in black for the extreme cruiser and this set actually has them in black. does anyone know if there is any truth to this? I have to admit, if this is true, it is quite hilarious.
  7. I just realized that I posted this in the wrong thread. I guess I better correct it.

  9. Barman is the guy who did the huge V8 engine correct? And also came up with the idea for the cv axle joints?
  10. They are claiming that it can "Lift Off" but they are also saying that is does use a string to control the flight, but they are obviously pulling the fishing line to get it to "Lift Off" Deception. Paul also brought up and excellent point in there being no flexing at the wings.
  11. Buy-It-Now $475.00 complete with instructions and stickers. They are crediting the Model to "Skyliner" but it still doesn't seem right. And apparently they don't know what "Gullwing Doors" are.
  12. Awesome model!!! How is the steering? It looks a little tight with all of the rerouting work.
  13. No, I just meant similar to how the suspension works. I wasn't saying that it was a copy. Skyliner, how large is the file?
  14. I meant the 2 length axles that are just catching 1/2 a stud of length by the shocks. That area seems like it could work itself loose. This also looks similar to the suspension that crowkillers did in one of the Lamborghini models that he did.
  15. Cool Car! The only thing that I don't like very much is all of the places that are only catching a half a stud of axle length on the suspension. Seems very easy to work itself loose. Especially when you are talking about something that moves about like suspension does.
  16. More of a "simulator" rather than actually flying.
  17. I thought the Nitro Muscle front tires were the rubber ones like the 8070 has? No?
  18. Can't wait to see pictures of your ungraded MOC! After I see what you do, I might actually try and incorporate this awesome gearbox into my own 8070 set. It is currently just stock, but this new gearbox idea looks like a real winner. I also like how everything is straight forward and even and nothing is off by 1/2 of a stud. Should be easy to line up with the rear drive axle.
  19. I don't think Paul will care. He already has pretty detailed pictures up at his site of the transmission. The only downfall I see with this transmission(if you want to consider it a downfall) is that it really can't be built into a compact module because the gearing is wide and built into the frame, but the advantages far out weigh the lack of it being a tight module. here you can see the gearing built into the frame But then here you can see that there is no extra space being taken up and the width between the seats is the same as the 8070.
  20. Well, I guess the proof is in the new video. Naked car chassis are just so darn cool.
  21. I was just getting ready to update this thread with the new video, you beat me to it. Wow is that ever well done. So many cool new ideas. Can't wait to see what kind of exterior he comes up with! Very well done Paul!
  22. I don't think that part was ever in any set. There was just a discussion on here a few weeks ago about these odd parts. The hard spring would more than likely be best for a heavy vehicle as it is much stiffer.
