Winter Village: Friends Dunk Tank (Contest Entry)
NoEinstein replied to dr_spock's topic in LEGO Town
Real amazons eh? They even made a spartan warrior part with his spear I see. Maybe Mia can visit lightningtiger's stall for an industrial heater? Really great addition to the competition, good luck dr_spock.- 31 replies

I just now stumbled on this MOCD. The haunted house is the main reason I got out of my dark ages. Although comparing them is not completely fair (different themes and budgets) this house pales the haunted house. I cannot wait for updates.

Thanks for the kind words . Yes, not so camera shy after all . One of the prank additions. -
Winter Village: Model railroad display (Competition entry)

Cool entry! It reminds me of the Constitution train I MODed to ride around my Winter Village. Good luck in the contest. -
Winter Village: Kodak moment with Santa (Contest Entry)

Thanks. I interpreted Rick's remark as being allowed to place some minifigures outside of the 16x16 baseplates (bases). The photographer is more of a . -
Winter Village: Farmer's Co-Op Stand (Contest Entry)

A very recognizable tiger build and nicely adopted to the winter village theme. I love the snow blower. Good luck in the contest. -
Winter Village: Ferris Wheel (Competition Entry)
NoEinstein replied to Paperballpark's topic in LEGO Town
Lovely entry Paperballpark. It is a great addition to the carousel and the 16x16 constraints makes this a really smart build. Good luck in the contest. -
I present to you my entry for the Expand the Winter Village Contest IV (2013): Kodak moment with Santa. Since this years set was a market with a carousel offering lots of fun for children, Santa decided to visit and give the children a chance to get their picture taken with him, his holiday helpers and his trustworthy sleigh. Word got out and quite a crowd turned up. Just the vignette: Showing the details on the left for a better view of what is under the tree: Back and right side of the sleigh (updated, see post below): Overview without the minifigures: I had a blast planning and building this and gave me a great way to apply all the new building techniques I learned this year after getting out of my dark ages. The (somewhat rough) LDD version I used to plan everything can be downloaded here. As you might notice it is not quite up to date and as complete as the photographs. Feel free to use it to build your own version. C&C is appreciate. Edited, typo's (sled for kids, sleigh for Santa?) Update: The above linked LDD is quite a mess so I decided to make some manuals using Kristel's excellent guide. First up is the christmas tree. I added yellow plates to make it more clear how the branches should be placed on the axle. Please replace them with green plates when building the tree. If you have suggestions for improving the manual do not hesitate to contact me. And here is the sleigh. Both manuals are free to use. If used a photograph is appreciated. Update: Replaced first image with a picture including a waiting line. Update removed "right view" because it did not show anything extra and replaced it with the view without the minifigures. Update: It is great to see that there are people who appreciate my first try at a vignette and take some time to express it by leaving a comment. Thanks again!

Excellent (first) MOC! If you ever get your hands on some flames like this or this it probably would look even more awesome.

Excellent review, thanks. Regarding the missing door knob, as mentioned by ronenson there is a spare one besides the spare . More important, I think this door is put in on purpose it does seem with some minor adjustments another apartment floor (module 2) can be added for people who want some taller buildings. Downside is some upstairs neighbor traffic on the second (American third) floor. Example as posted on LowLUG (top post image is clickable for larger version)

Lovely end result finishlast. The control buttons made from LEGO are a really nice touch they do not stand out this way.

GBC module : "The Witch"
NoEinstein replied to PG52's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Nifty compact system . It is great that it can also be used as module within a bigger GBC with minimal changes. The figure is a funny addition, although she lacks a broom and pointy hat . Or did I misinterpret the title? -
I bought a new Duplo train for my nephew a few years back. I tested the locomotive to prevent disappointment when playing with the present after opening it. I put batteries in it, pressed the run button and it had the same behaviour you described. Then I put the dang thing on the ground pressed again and I had to chase it through my room. Apparently there is a pressure sensor in those trains to prevent, I assume, kids hurting themselves when the wheels spin without touching the rails/ground. You say it moves forward 1 second so I assume you put it on a surface, but if not you might have the same problem I experienced and almost made me claim warranty.

That donut 2CV really brings back childhood memories. I should build it in white/tan and show it to my brother. See if he remembers us jumping up and down on it as small kids. Our uncle told us our aunt was going to sent it to the scrap yard so we could use it as a trampoline. When our aunt saw us doing our thing, lets put it like this she went . Uncle sorted it out and we had a blast. Love the T1, DS20 (aka pike or snoek in Dutch) and friends bus also. Thanks for all great inspiration!

I agree with lightningtiger on the WW2 'dictators'. Maybe series 14 could be a science series: Albert Einstein (looks wise unique enough) with an E=MC2 tile or a famous quote e.g. "Imagination is more important than knowledge" which seems very LEGO appropriate Benjamin Franklin with a kite Isaac Newton with an apple Marie Currie with the x-ray tile from the surgeon CMF Alfred Nobel with dynamite Leonardo da Vinci with a vitruvian man tile Galileo Galilei with a telescope Nikola Tesla with those dark force lightning bolts Thomas Edison with a light bulb Charles Babbage with a laptop The figures might not be instantly recognizable but it could make kids investigate on who this person was.

Excellent idea, fantastic execution. This looks amazing! Silly joke, the 5th Egyptian/1st Greek is the first mob victim who got his feet cast in concrete? ;)

Really nice solution dr_spock. Now I don't have to fiddle with it and can just copy your solution. Another up side, Ann Lee cannot be held prisoner any longer by the mean monsters

Waow, those pictures from last year look amazing. All those nice lit up buildings, to brighten the darker days in the winter. Can we expect some pictures when you integrated the market? Love the movie. I shall motorize mine too when I get it and connect it to my 9V transformator like you did. My nephew of 4 will love it I am sure (much more than the digital switched battery box).

This looks amazing. I find it funny that you made a complex lighting system and still use hand power to make the carousel spin. Out of PF motors I bet

I love the trees. The arch and the sea grass are a nice touch. Might be common knowledge but it is a first for me so thanks for the ideas.

It took me a while (I am somewhat a perfectionist even on such a small project), but my first MOC is ready for public viewing. I present to you my attempt to build a LEGO TARDIS accompanied by characters from the Doctor Who series from 2005 onwards. Due to the large range of faces introduced with the collectable minifigures I decided to go the classic LEGO look and only use yellow faces and hands for my minifigs. Where appriopriate I will deviate from this, e.g. a white statue with a yellow head and hands would be somewhat weird would it not? I got introduced to Doctor Who at the Eleventh Hour episode where the 11th Doctor and his companion Amy meet, so that will be the pictures I present in this post. My efforts on the 9th and 10th doctor, their companions (though not all) and some opponents can be found on my Flickr account. The 11th Doctor and young Amy The 11th Doctor, adult Amy in her kissogram outfit and Rory I used printed decals applied with magic tape while the stickers I used did not peel at the first try, thus destroying the black police box area. Amy's skirt is an inside out CMF bagpiper skirt combined with some black permanent marker handiwork. C&C appreciated. Thanks for watching.
