"After the fall of Sauron, Éomer, son of Éomund, returns to Rohan to be crowned king, following in the footsteps of Théoden, son of Thengel, who was slain during the Battle of the Pelennor Fields. Upon his return to Edoras, King Éomer decides the time has come to wipe out the remaining Dunlendings, former servants of evil who were sent by Saruman to aid him in the destruction of Rohan, who have now taken refuge throughout Dunland from whence they came, spread out over many different settlements and some fortresses. One of these fortresses can be found on the border of Rohirric lands to Dunland, one that was taken from Rohan by the Dunlendings during the War of the Ring. As a first step to conquering Dunland and slaying the remaining hostile Dunlendings, King Éomer sends a group of his men to surround the fortress, attacking the Dunlendings from every possible side. One of these sides is the western rivergate, to which a group of Rohirrim footsoldiers has been sent to begin the attack..." ________________________________________________________________________________________________ This is my entry for MEC, category B, depicting an event from the 4th age of Middle-Earth. Seems like somebody who has no way to feel good about himself other than pretending to be doing it right by writing an article to attack a particular hobby, just so he can create the illusion for himself that he's at least superior to one certain group of people. Not even close, sorry Mr. Brick.

What a coincidence! I was thinking of revamped LEGO Adventurers figures very recently.. Don't have much time but when I do, I'll try to come up with some revamped figure-combos as well. A revamped version of every figure variation would be nice - perhaps even ideas for replacing some of the minor and/or less recurring characters with new, revamped versions. Some CMF and Pharaoh's Quest fig parts may be of use. I think I'll have to turn my ideas of LEGO Adventurers MOCs with revamped figures and other revamped elements into reality...

LEGO Star Wars 2015 Pictures and Rumors
General Magma replied to Erdbeereis's topic in LEGO Star Wars
In other words, a character created to appeal to children, especially younger girls. "Mandalorian with pink armor who likes to blow things up" - how is that an argument for anybody past the age of 12 to like the character? You even seem to be attacking Ahsoka for her Togruta appearance - Shaak Ti's species that appeared long before Ahsoka... Not to mention that those aren't cat ears, but even if they were, I don't see what is exactly wrong with that. There have been cat-like species for a long while now... how is that more ridiculous than a Mandalorian in pink armor? Oh, hey, look guys, it's Star Wars! Aliens?! Aliens in Star Wars? Inconceivable! Sue the makers! -

It's called Star Wars, not Anakin Skywalker. The 6 main movies are the story about the rise and fall of Anakin Skywalker, but Star Wars can be about anything within that specific universe, just like The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit are two different stories but still a part of the same universe. They can co-exist. The only difference is that all Star Wars material has "Star Wars" in front of the name, whereas LOTR and The Hobbit don't start as "Middle-Earth", disproving your argument about it "not mattering because it's not part of the initial story" furthermore. In the end, it's all Star Wars. The KOTOR crew does not consist of background characters, because they are important to the stories they appear in. The only things that matter to you are the six films, that does not mean that the other SW elements don't matter entirely. SWTOR is not even supposed to be all that relevant to the main series which currently consists of the 6 films, but that does not make it any less of a part of the Star Wars universe, in the same way that Ancient Rome was once important to ours, even if it seems so long ago to the time we live in now. The history of the world may not directly seem all that relevant to what's going on now, but in the end, many things that were influenced by the past exist in present day. In the same way, if you look at specific TOR elements, the Old Republic era IS relevant to the main story. How did the Sith succeed at overthrowing the Republic & the Jedi to create a new Empire? The Rule of Two. Who created the Rule of Two? Darth Bane. Who influenced Darth Bane? Darth Revan. Which era are both of those characters from? The Old Republic era. -

Why is there a set coming based on the old Clone Wars? That stuff is non-canon.. -

I really hope the ITT will have the new OT stormtroopers. There will already be a total of 2 Rebels stormtroopers available in sets, so I hope they'll toss us a bone and fill the ITT with normal stormtroopers, however doubtful that may seem... I also hope the Womp Rat will actually be a new mold, and that the Tusken Raider will have a tan Zabrak headpiece. I'm not sure where the Geonosis troopers came from, are those even canon? It's a shame there will be another Jar Jar in the AAT, but at least the set looks like a great parts pack for Tatooine MOCs. Buy two and you'll have a dome roof for your Tatooine homestead. I thought the Senate Commando pack was cancelled? Well, hopefully not, it looks interesting. It's a shame there won't be any more TOR sets but the least they can do is have new figures that are suitable for TOR era customs. Shadow troopers look great as well, but once again, not sure where they came from. TFU is non-canon but they might show up in the Rebels series.. hopefully as warriors that are skilled unlike the stormtroopers, it seems... in the OT, Imperial troops were capable of quite a few things and when they missed, they may have been ordered to do so by Vader. Although that theory is still questionable when you take the Battle of Endor in mind, but I still like to think of it that way... -

I wasn't talking about the LEGO versions... I was responding to Mallet's post about the stormtroopers in the Rebels series, there's a difference between the art styles, but no more than that - the Rebels stormtrooper is not supposed to be an earlier version of the stormtrooper outfit. -

There is no difference between the Rebels stormtroopers and the OT stormtroopers besides the art style used for the media in which they appear. -

The stormtrooper helmets are real, however. The new version of the regular helmet, at least. -

I don't understand why they even felt the need to do a separate print for the stormtroopers in the Rebels sets. LOTR Mordor orcs (and Hobbit hunter orcs) got the exact same prints for 3 waves straight while they're not supposed to look uniform... and now, when Star Wars Rebels comes, they finally scrap the idea of anime eyes (that was a mistake they should've solved way earlier during The Clone Wars) but then they come up with different helmets for stormtroopers that should all look the same. Even when the new regular OT stormtrooper is easily the best version of the stormtrooper they've released to date. If the new ITT is indeed a Rebels set,TLG will be missing out on quite a bit of money. -

It would be fairly strange for them to release that as a set... that starfighter isn't part of the SW canon (anymore), is it? Either way, I think the Hailfire is an Episode II set and will give us at least one new non-TCW Jedi. Perhaps a new version of Ki-Adi-Mundi, Shaak Ti, a new Luminara, updated Kit Fisto, Aayla Secura or perhaps an entirely new figure that we've never seen before. -
I have reason to believe that LOTR is done. No news of new sets, no indications that there will be future sets and rumors of a new castle theme involving fantasy elements (elves) are already spreading.
-
That is true. After the Middle-Earth themes, TLG must've been able to experiment with Elves a little bit, and realized their popularity - deciding to continue the Fantasy Castle follow-up that was supposed to happen years ago.
-
That does not mean the 4+ Juniors theme, but rather the more recent easy-to-build sets with regular minifigures, such as the Batman and TMNT Juniors sets that have been available for a while now.
