1. Well, that's disappointing. The only hope that remains now lies with the LEGO Dimensions packs, but even then, I doubt they'll be making new molds for those. The marble maze looks like a fun little thing but it's nothing I'd ever buy. Same would probably go for plenty of others who were rooting for the One Last Set... Makes me wonder why they've rejected it in the first place. Would a smaller set succeed? Or would it undergo the same fate? Yes, but those were for running themes, so sadly we can't expect them to release a Minas Tirith set after all.
2. I'm just really hoping to see a few of the new aliens in sets, would be a shame if all we got were the goodies, the baddies and their troopers. I've seen some of the new species and they could look really great as minifigs. It would also expand upon the existing alien figures, allowing for more diversity in MOCs.
3. It has definitely taken over my brain and that is far from a recent occurrence! Just as one of my habits: I always tend to re-render my surroundings into LEGO versions of them, or figure out how to build something I saw somewhere in LEGO with all kinds of different pieces being used in a creative manner, in my mind that is.
4. Looks like a new version of Creator. Also notice the Wild West stuff in there...
5. Sounds like something I could try, finding used copies of the cameras. At this point, I'm mostly interested in having a good camera to shoot great pictures of MOCs and figures, something comparable to the picture quality seen on pictures of creations made by the more popular MOCers, if an example is needed. And then also for casual use, hobby-photography if good enough, but mainly LEGO pictures now, really. Either way, thanks for all the advice & suggestions so far, everyone. I'm still looking for the best option, (though I'm doubting very much and maybe even overthinking this), so any other recommendations would still be welcome, and otherwise I'll be looking into finding used copies of the cameras I've been thinking of purchasing. I'm still wondering whether I should actually even go with a DSLR in the end or not. Also, as an edit, is there anybody here who has experience with the Nikon D3200? It seems I may be able to get a used one for $270 with a 35mm lens, could be a fair enough deal, but I don't think I'll be able to trust this, because of the amount of money involved here. That would leave me with having to spend about $400 or more for the same camera, $450 if I want that same lens..
6. When were the TFA sets slated for release again? September, correct? A bit strange we still haven't seen or heard anything else about those sets. Or have we?
7. To avoid getting in the way of TFA. Once TFA has been released, they'll start hyping up Rogue One, for sure, and what's even more certain is that there will be sets for this film. There is absolutely no way for there to end up being a lack of sets for this movie, especially since Episode VIII will come out in 2017 and they'll have most TFA stuff covered after the first wave of TFA sets. So they're gonna need something new. Count on sets for every single official & canonical Star Wars TV series or movie.
8. That is really awesome. I've always loved this franchise, ever since I was a little one. I'm still waiting for Rayman 4, of course... but either way, really good MOC. Did you know that this year is Rayman's 20th anniversary?
9. Hopefully, the Minas Tirith IDEAS set will pass the review successfully. We should know more in the next few days. In the meantime, is there anybody out there who happens to know more about Brickforge's plan to create custom LOTR items, such as helmets and other items? Something like this was said a long time ago, but I haven't heard anything more about it ever since. I'm gonna need some different orc helmets and Second Age equipment, if anything.
10. Bump. Now only looking for the listed Middle-Earth figures, figures that I need the most have been marked with "!". Would also like BrickWarriors items and monster/alien heads, pieces from Altbricks, as well as many different kinds of flesh heads.
11. I've been drawing by hand for years now, so I think I don't have to worry much about that - I should be skilled enough to be able to get a great head start for learning how to create digital art using Photoshop. All in all, I have come to the conclusion that I must go with digital art, this conclusion was raised by the following factors: 1) The things I want to create are simply impossible for me to do using LEGO. My collection is too limited for that, but with digital art, I'd be able to create anything related to my lore, no matter the size of it all. 2) Increasing my collection of pieces may be possible, but the costs for that would be too huge if I were to look at what I'd probably need - add to that the costs of a new, proper camera, and it would likely be far more expensive than getting a tablet for digital art. Those are the two main factors. I will most likely still recreate some of the events that take place in my stories in LEGO, but the "canonical visuals" will be created as digital art. Thanks for the responses, any more tips for the creation of such a fantasy universe are still welcome - and omegabob, I'll try to remember your post to send you a link to it the day it will be opened.
12. I'm currently in the process of working on the first ideas for the creation of my own fantasy world & stories set in it (in a medieval fantasy setting), of which I've had thoughts of doing for years now, and the idea has always been to visually represent it in LEGO. By that I mean, depending on future circumstances and how things will end up going, having pictures of LEGO scenes (cinematic looking pictures is what I would be aiming for) alongside the written stories, but also - imagining a website devoted to this fantasy universe - images on certain pages with, for example, information about a certain city, and then the image for that page would be a LEGO scene representing that specific city. There would be such an image for most pages - think of something like... movie scenes or paintings converted into LEGO versions, if you need a better example (there could be an occasional picture placed alongside the story IF I were to post those on such a website). However, now I'm kinda wondering if this would be a good idea in the first place. It might not be able to reach out to as many people, it might somewhat diminish the seriousness of it all, so I'm rather stuck with this dilemma at the moment, hindering progress. It could end up being something neat and unique, maybe, but perhaps it won't really work that well in the end. Alternatives I had in mind were: to do something with digital art (I'd have to learn to do this using Photoshop first), or just nothing but written text, which I might find the least favorable but not necessarily unacceptable. All in all, I'm looking for some insight on this as well as some ideas and thoughts - what would you think of the initial idea of using LEGO? What do you think others may think of it? Would it be good enough for something like this, or do you think I'd be better off going with something like digital art instead? Any other ideas & suggestions that revolve around this matter would be welcome, too.
13. This thread hurts my bricks.
14. Would this be considered lucky? Some of my haul from flea markets over the past year: 2x MISB 1731 (Ice Planet), one for $2, the other for $0.50 (seem to go for $25 each) MISB Adventurers sets 5911, 5912, 5913 and 5914 for a total of $7 (seems to go for about $50+, for all four combined) MISB 1256 Shell Gas Station for $17 (seems to go for $60-100+)
15. Pretty similar to what Fred said - only with a different piece - the grass stalk piece, also known as the flower stem piece. Currently, we've got that one in regular green, most commonly, as well as the rare brown variant. Certain MOCs could use more realistic grass, however, for example when building a swamp or anything else that should logically use grass in a darker shade of green. So for that piece... dark green and olive green would do. Maybe lime, or the light green color as seen in the 'Friends' sets, and brown and grey would be welcome as well.
16. Hey there! So lately I've been looking for certain kinds of plant pieces - I've ordered and received AltBricks pieces, which are great, but it seems that AB nor LEGO themselves have olive green flower/grass stems to offer, anywhere. Since grass in this color would be pretty crucial for certain MOCs that I've got in mind, I'd like to find a way to change the colors of official (bright green) grass stem pieces into olive green, in a way that makes them usable pieces for MOCs - pieces of a good enough quality. Currently, I'm looking for the opinions of others on this, and I'd like to know if any of you have attempted anything like this in the past, and if it ended up working out for you, as well as suggestions & ideas for what I might want to try in order to achieve this. Thanks in advance!
17. I haven't been able to post replies here for a while, but now that I've got the time again, and I'm back - and I feel that I really should finalize my search and go for a camera, though I'm still having doubts about some. Ah alright, that should be fine then. Before I proceed, is there anyone here who has experience with either the Nikon D3100, D3200 or D3300? I've been considering getting one of those, preferably the cheaper variants. Would that be a good choice, or should I try looking into it a bit more?

19. The past one-and-a-half month: The Magnificent Seven Django Unchained Tombstone A Fistful of Dollars For A Few Dollars More The Good, The Bad and The Ugly Great films - I especially liked "Tombstone", "For A Few Dollars More" and, my favorite, "The Good, The Bad and The Ugly". More westerns, here I come...
20. Good day all, and apologies for the late response. Thanks for all the responses and help so far! The replying progress will begin now. I won't have a lot of time so I'll likely have to respond to the remaining posts later on. Thanks for all the information! The "ghost effect" in that plane picture looks great, would be nice to have a camera with options to do something like that. Though I'm not too sure I would be satisfied with a Point-and-Shoot camera. Maybe I'm putting too much value on "super HD-looking quality shots", so something closer to being within my budget may eventually suffice. I had no idea that everything done with DSLRs had to be done manually, I always prefer being able to see the picture I'm about to take before taking it. Add to that the price and it may not be my camera after all, indeed. I might just have to look for a "bridge camera", but the options are endless, hard not to get lost in a sea of cameras asking you to buy them! A DSLR sounds good to me, though the price of a camera and then the price of different lenses is making me doubt a bit, as well as the apparent complications that may arise when using it - from what I've heard, at least. I'm not sure about the differences between the viewfinders, but if anything, I'd like to be able to see the picture I've taken on a large enough screen, and as said by Breakdown, DSLRs apparently don't have that. What is the actual difference between ILCs and DSLRs, overall? Or are they somewhat similar? Lots of options - too many, actually - but maybe not a lot to spend, in reality. Being able to take great, clear pictures of my LEGO stuff, landscapes (and perhaps a combination of the two) without graininess would be the most important thing here. I probably won't really be doing any shots of bypassing trains or stuff like that. I don't have a huge problem with bigger, bulkier cameras (I think!), but being able to hold them without dropping them would be nice. More camera recommendations are welcome - as for specific cameras, especially, and I'll respond to the rest later when I can find some time again. Thanks everyone!
21. Bump, now looking for flesh heads instead of yellow, and not really any space figures anymore.
22. Good day! I'm looking for many different minifig heads in flesh (light flesh, dark flesh, etc.), and I figured that there are probably plenty of people on here who prefer yellow who may be willing to trade in their flesh minifig heads for certain yellow minifig heads of mine. Swapping minifig hands would also be possible, but only as an extra to this and not in a standalone trade. I'm looking for most available flesh heads, mainly those that fit in a wild west setting. (Dark flesh heads for Mexicans, Lone Ranger Indian heads, bearded heads, old style glasses, etc.) If you've got any flesh heads you'd be willing to get rid of in exchange for yellow heads, let me know in a post or (preferably) a PM along with what kind of heads you're looking for. I am located in The Netherlands.
