  1. The Witch-king of Angmar (ROTK) Éowyn (Dernhelm outfit, both hairpiece and helmet) Faramir (Ranger outfit) Gondorian soldier Morannon orc (new prints & helmet - possibly 2 different orcs with different skin colors. Olive green or dk. tan and grey?) Denethor Merry (Rohan outfit) Pippin (Gondor outfit) Mountain troll (armored) And all of that can be done in one wave... We are only one wave away from having a satisfying finale for the LEGO LOTR theme. If we all sign that petition, it may end up coming closer than we think! http://www.change.org/p/save-lego-the-lord-of-the-rings
  2. Also shared to Dutch LEGO fansite lowlug.nl and LOTR fansite theonering.net - let's hope that will bring in more people to sign the petition! The more the better!
  3. Signed it and advertised it on Flickr and a LOTR fansite! Let's hope for the best. Perhaps contacting the creators of some of the popular LOTR projects on LEGO Ideas to get them to advertise it at the top of the descriptions of their projects would be a good idea, as well. Gondor calls for aid - will the LEGO Company answer?
  4. I'd say it wasn't all necessarily pretend. Emmet was still thinking when he was outside of his world, and dropped down the table by moving around by himself eventually. Though I for sure would've preferred for the movie to have showcased it all EXACTLY as an actual (fictional) universe without the real world things showing. Oh well!
  5. Ah, darn. That doesn't sound like it'll be worth it... Is there anyone else in here who has been to Oberhausen recently, with a more specific list of items they had or maybe even a picture? Do they change the selection of parts often, or ever at all?
  6. Wild West. Looking at the LEGO Movie, there might be plans for that... Haven't seen those tall cowboy hats in any sets at all - has anybody else? Maybe it will be used in a future LEGO Movie set and then re-used in a new Western theme later on.
  7. Anything wild west with as many cowboy figures as possible. That new, taller cowboy hat hasn't been made into LEGO yet, has it? It was pretty common... I'm pretty sure we'll be seeing that hat in a set some time. They might even re-use that kind of stuff for a new LEGO wild west theme.
  8. Finally got around to seeing this film. Loved it - I would like to see some sequels, or rather, future installments. Something based on the old Adventurers theme mixed with something new could make for a great film. Include Johnny Thunder (who briefly showed up in the film a few times) and the old crew as the main characters, and there ya go! Or perhaps... a LEGO western or something. That part of the film really brought me back to the old wild west stuff, especially the game cutscenes from the LEGOLand game and such. Not sure how well that would work as a standalone, but if they can manage to conjure up something good for a future installment, I'm all for it.
  9. According to the writer of this article, most (if not all) of the rumors have been false so far, including the Inquisitors, and there is also something he has to say about the concept art that has been going around for a few days now: http://thisisinfamou...mor-parade-but/ No word on the hand-in-space thing, however.
  10. Any Jimi Hendrix song.
  11. I'm planning a trip to go to Oberhausen (Germany) somewhere next week, and I am, of course, also planning to pay a visit to the LEGO Store they have there. Is there anyone who has been there recently who knows which parts you can get from the PaB wall, or is there a site where you can view the selection of available parts? Thanks in advance.
  12. I use the Uruk legs on Rohirrim soldiers - you could also try combining the Uruk legs with the Mordor orc torso, or try using the torso backwards.
  13. Your nostalgia goggles have made you narrow minded. You're not a better collector for hoarding old sets that are poorly designed compared to those of today. By your logic, the first computer would be the best computer merely for being the original, but that makes no sense whatsoever. Having your own opinion is one thing, forcing it upon others using insulting labels is another thing and shows how nostalgia has blinded you.
  14. There are a few cool minifigs in there, but overall, this wave is a huge disappointment. We get those stupid Gundabad orcs again while the orcs are supposed to be armoured and could've had new helmets and torso/face prints, instead of even a single generic Elf figure we get ANOTHER Legolas, we get a total of 2 Bards (they could easily have put the only Bard in the Laketown set using the new blue outfit), no Bolg whatsoever, no bear Beorn, those meh Eagles again instead of a new War Ram (or bear Beorn), no generic dwarves at all... (And with the mohawk thing on Dain's helmet, none can be made) Not to mention that Bain's hair should've been replaced with Luke Skywalker's new hairpiece. For Star Wars they made two different stormtroopers for ONE singular wave, who are not even supposed to look different from one another, and with Middle-Earth sets they can't even be bothered to do one new, unique orc print except for another Gundabad face variation - a slight one at that. We've been asking for a new orc helmet mold since the beginning of the LOTR theme, and what do we get? Hair that none of the orcs should have during the big battles (we could've had a great new helmet) and yet more re-used orc torsos. Sure, there are some positives, such as King Thorin and the Witch-king, but to me, they are outweighed by the negatives..
  15. Geonosis Troopers? Hasn't there been a fairly recent Geonosis battlepack already? Assuming that one is PT-based, the shadow troopers could be based on Star Wars Rebels. The fact that we probably won't be seeing new SWTOR sets anytime soon (if ever again) still disappoints me very much, though. We got Darth Revan as a promo fig, but I don't think they can still make KOTOR or SWTOR sets due to the new canon - unless that SW era will somehow manage to be accepted back into the canon..
  16. Bump, still looking for potential traders.
  17. Good morning/afternoon/evening, I am looking for a sealed polybag Darth Revan minifigure from this year's May the 4th promotion. I would like to trade for it, so if you have one up for trade, send me a message with your wants listed and I will see what I have and what I will be able to offer.
  18. Does anybody happen to know how well the earlier SWTOR sets sold, and if we've got a chance of seeing any more in the near future?
  19. And the Santa beard, which fits under most medieval helmets, along with the remaining Castle Fantasy Era dwarf beards.
  20. That is how I like to think of it, and it is also something I hope PJ will show at the end of The Hobbit. What would be better than a scene like this to showcase that AND to explain the beginning of the first LOTR film: As the stoy ends, everything goes back to old Bilbo and his book, where he says something like "No, no, this is not it.." and decides to rip out the pages and start all over again. That is what would explain why Bilbo had only just started to write the book at the beginning of Fellowship of the Ring, and why the new version of the book (which he shows to Frodo in Rivendell) seems to show very different depictions of the swords from The Hobbit. To me, that would be the best thing PJ can do for the ending at this point. Show that it was all one version of the book, so that everything makes sense again in-universe. And Bilbo, just having written an entire story and deciding to start all over again, would of course have forgotten where Frodo had gone off to. Who is he to remember that at his old age while having just written an entire book?
  21. Since the molded creature was apparently hard to identify, it's probably going to be the big battle ram. And Beorn would probably just use the existing bear mold, I don't think TLG is going to bother much with the figure scales, unfortunately. If they're going to make Beorn's bear version at all. In the movie, Beorn's normal form is huge but his LEGO figure is hardly taller than Bard, for instance. And Smaug is the same size as any other one of the more recent castle dragons, not as huge as his movie version is. So don't expect a gigantic bear to pop up out of the blue.
  22. Yup. Exactly that. And if LEGO doesn't end up releasing the Fell Beast after all, I'd rather continue making my own brickbuilt version. The most important missing figure of all right now, though, would have to be the Gondorian soldier. I'd like to see Éowyn, Faramir and the Witch-king as well, though. Another 4-set wave would bring us all of that.
  23. Smaug's body and wing molds could be re-used for a Fell Beast, since those creatures only have wings and legs when it comes to limb features, just like Smaug.
  24. I heard they were going to showcase ALL the sets at SDCC. Is/was this true, or a false rumor?
  25. Pretty disappointed, although I probably wasn't going to buy the set anyways. Gonna have to snatch up the figures somewhere else. Though it seems like they couldn't be bothered to give Fili a new, neutral facial expression and instead gave him the smiling one again... shame. And yeah, the black-haired one is definitely Kili: I'm pretty sure something is missing from that picture, though. I highly doubt that's 800 pieces...
