  1. It can be done, though some pieces would have to be replaced. However, I said "Pretty much anyone could build their own version of the Balrog", and that means the movie version. Like, building the creature from the movie, not a replica of the LEGO game version. Of course, it would be cool to have that Balrog, but one thing that already proves they'd have to alter the design at least a bit is the fire whip. It all also seems to be more like a thing MOCers would build, and I very much doubt it was designed like this for a set. But, like I said, it would be cool to have a Balrog nonetheless, though not at the expense of key characters such as Faramir, Denethor, Éowyn, the Witch-king, Gondorian soldiers, etc. or even a new Mordor (or Morannon) orc from my part.
  2. What about the Hungarian Horntail from Harry Potter from several years ago? If they made a unique mold for that, then I can't see why they wouldn't do one for Smaug...
  3. Pretty much anyone could build their own version of the Balrog. What we really need is the remaining minifigures, because not everyone can customize those or make purist versions of them that are accurate to the movie characters. And if they do make a Balrog set, let there be an armored Moria orc...
  4. Hey - just a reminder, maybe you should check your messages.

  5. For the first film, if extended edition... cut out the naked dwarf scene. Loved both Hobbit films (although the LOTR films are a lot better) but I hated that scene. Totally uncalled for, should've been left out as was done originally; we already know the nature of the company's dwarves by that point but that scene was a bit... too much.
  6. Although I would prefer something like one of the named orcs or a dwarf such as Thrain, I wouldn't mind a Shire Bilbo. I also think that will be it, and it would nonetheless be cool to have a coatless version of the blue coat Bilbo. And if they do make that figure, I hope they will have at least one new facial expression for him. But preferably, another figure please..
  7. What I feel we're missing... More SWTOR sets. There should be a Jedi Temple Invasion set, including a few Armored Jedi (using torso + legs of the Jedi Knight from 2013's TOR cruiser) along with Ven Zallow, masked Sith Warriors and anything else that may fit in. Temple Guards? The bounty hunter?
  8. What LEGO really should do is make another Old Republic battlepack, based on the Jedi Temple invasion. Include two Armored Jedi (just caped versions of the Jedi Knight from 2013's red SWTOR cruiser set), one of them a human with a hood, the other an alien, alongside two Sith Warriors (the versions with masks), collapsable pillar and some kind of vehicle or machinery as usual. Another set based on the same battle may be nice too, perhaps for a summer wave after a TOR winter BP, including some pillars, a collapsable bridge, maybe even the crashing shuttle (though preferably not, it would be rather expensive. Would want to keep this one at around a $30-50 price range), and as for the minifigures, we'd have Ven Zallow, 2 Temple Guards, a bounty hunter and another Sith Warrior. Next to that they could do a set with re-colored versions of the Republic Troopers from the SWTOR battlepack, I suggest blue, alongside a new SWTOR Jedi, a smuggler, a Sith Apprentice and an Imperial soldier. Scenery could be anything, from an outpost with a new vehicle to another actual space battle. ("Republic attacking an Imperial cruiser" type of scenario)
  9. No more SWTOR sets? What a shame. Would've liked to see more of those.
  10. Look at the picture with the boxes for the next "The Hobbit" sets: Picture Link What does it say near the bottom right corner? "Tie in to the video games and dvds." In other words, there's still a chance we may see more LOTR with a franchise box set, which is likely to happen. Not sure how long that may take, though, but there's still hope, even if just a tiny bit.
  11. R.I.P. Tippie, 1996-2014, my dear cat... I will miss you. :'(

  13. Thanks everybody! That works! I initially wanted to name it that, but it didn't quite fit the scene, so it will probably end up being used in a "continuation MOC" to this, sometime in the future...
  14. My first completed MOC in almost a year time. I've had most of this built since early 2013, but only today I finally decided to fully complete it, so here it is, depicting the scene from 'The Two Towers', in which Gollum is climbing down the rocky hills of Emyn Muil quietly during the night, preparing to attack the ringbearer to reclaim his precious... "The thieves... the thieves... the filthy little thieves..." Extra pictures: Hope you like it, and hopefully more's to come soon!
  15. Why not? Are my troops banned from participating in new themes from now on? In all seriousness, any more "drones" with antennae for heads may not be a good idea anymore... I would even prefer to see a re-make of Ogel's zombies. And, forget about the "reborn Ogel" thing, I had no idea about the cliffhanger. It would be nice to see Ogel and/or Dr. Inferno return (especially Ogel), although it may seem a bit unlikely. Has LEGO ever really done that before, bring back characters from year-old themes? That's pretty evil on its own already, though, ending a theme with a cliffhanger... maybe the new villain could be the LEGO employee responsible for this.
  16. I really hope that (if we do get a third wave) LEGO won't go cheapskate on the orcs for Gondor/Pelennor sets and make actual new orcs - we need Morannon orcs. Maybe a few different new prints (if they could do that with the ghost soldiers then they can do it here as well), two torsos (at least one of them bearing a slight similarity to Moria orc torsos), new heads (I guess they won't do two new heads, even though they realize there's a lot of variation. So, hopefully we'll get new helmets with double sided orc heads for a change, and not as slight of a difference as the Moria orcs but two pretty different options), some cool leg printing to fit the torsos. Knowing LEGO, they probably won't toss us any new orc weapons/shields. But I would be very satisfied with new orc heads, torsos & legs, and possibly helmets already. (Especially if they'd have new helmets, really. Even if it's just one - a signature Morannon orc helmet would be great. Maybe a hairpiece for some of them in a few sets, to allow for reversible heads, and hopefully a new skin color for those orcs, although another new dark tan head print would do as well. Maybe a grey orc would be nice some time.)
  17. Yeah, a mixture of all that with some character returns would be nice. Maybe the walking television thing from Alpha Team could get some kind of re-make, along with at least Dash and one Alpha Team female character, plus some of the agents. Maybe there could be two villains, Dr. Inferno co-operating with a re-born cyborg Ogel, or something like that. Fair enough, those are really nice. Such a shame I only had one (or two) of the non-underwater sets, most head prints must be faded by now. Oh well, there's always Bricklink! Heh, that must've been it then, not those damn crickets.
  18. It's a new helmet mold, and they'll be getting waistcapes as well. Nice. Also, I don't think that insectoid is Ponda Baba. It must be Greedo. Maybe Ponda Baba is in the other half, hopefully, though I don't think there will be a new mold for him. On another note... finally, an Ithorian!
  19. Also, it looks like we're getting a new Rodian head for Greedo, judging by the need for a placeholder...
  20. What about Alpha Team? Would be nice to see a re-boot of that with Dash, Charge, the villainous Ogel, etc., although unlikely. Who's with me?! *noise of crickets* ...Oh. Alright then. Agents 3.0 would be fine as well.
  21. I hope it's just misplaced because they figured the thing at the top meant "Hobbit", and they didn't know the translation of "Gyuruk ura" (or whatever it was again)... The discontinuation of the LOTR theme would be very disappointing, but I'm still hoping.
  22. I'm happy that we're at least getting three sets, but I think there should be another one as said by others before. Fingers crossed for the Witch-king, Éowyn, Gondorian soldiers, NEW ORCS, Faramir, and more... Minas Tirith + a battlepack for it would be amazing. All the figures I named earlier and Gothmog would be totally great to have, as would any new orc besides Gothmog be. Fingers crossed for this to turn out really well. I don't know what language exactly, but "Gyuruk ura" is a foreign translation for 'The Lord of the Rings'. Just type it into Google and you'll see. And Hobbit sets have always been made for winter waves (so far at least), because that's when the movies are released - the end of the previous sets' instruction booklets told us the next wave would conclude the Hobbit theme. I doubt they would release those in October instead of when the hype reaches its peak... last year, people seemed to think there would be Hobbit sets coming for a summer wave, but that turned out to be LOTR too. No confirmations as of yet, but I do think we're dealing with new LOTR sets here.
  23. Indeed, if LEGO decides to drop the theme without having released Minas Tirith (or anything from Gondor including its own soldiers) at all, somebody at LEGO must've lost their mind. It would be a terrible decision to drop the theme, and not only for us buyers who would hate to see the plug pulled for it half-finished (so to speak), but also for LEGO's own sales. I don't know how well the most recent LOTR wave sold, but they weren't quite what I would call "iconic scenes"... sure, there was the Black Gate and Rivendell, but in comparison to Gondor, Balrog, Treebeard, Witch-king, etc. sets, last wave's sets are pretty much nothing. Add to that the fact that the previous wave only had 4 sets (excluding Orthanc, which most kids just can't afford either way), LEGO should be able to realize that a third wave with many of the desired things would sell very well. Throw in a set with the Witch-king and Éowyn, a nice Minas Tirith-based set with some new orcs, trolls and Gondorian soldiers (don't forget Faramir, preferably in ranger attire), add a Balrog to the mix, perhaps Treebeard with new named orc Grishnakh, and whatever set they may want to add next (maybe a battlepack would be nice, an add-on to Minas Tirith, I would say). Especially if they decide to add in new and updated minifigs for some, and not the same old Mordor orc design we've seen a thousand times by now. I don't think they can excite anyone with those "old" orcs anymore, and they missed the boat on having lots of variation for those... so far. Can they redeem that? Either way, I'm keeping my optimism up and hoping that they won't pull the plug so prematurely, that they will use their senses to not get rid of it so early, for all the fans but for them more importantly the sales, and that the final sets (and figures) will justify the theme's potential.
