Oh darn, those troopers look wicked. I really hope we'll be able to army-build these efficiently in the near future, very nice looking figures. -

I have the 2010 version, and I would really like to have the UCS Slave I one day. Does anybody know if UCS sets like this one ever end up on discount? I'm not much of a set collector and most of my LEGO budget has been spent on MOC parts the past months, but I would really love to have this set so I'll need to pick it up in the future when (if) it goes on sale.

LEGO Star Wars 2015 Pictures and Rumors
General Magma replied to Erdbeereis's topic in LEGO Star Wars
The new Darth Vader is really growing on me now, and I'm starting to prefer it by far over the old one. My only problem is that I've got the older one in chrome black, which makes the new one lose points to it... Does anyone here think they may one day release a chrome version of the new Vader? I certainly hope so. -
WANTED] Many Different Star Wars Minifigs
General Magma replied to General Magma's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
Bump - I am now also looking for almost every most recent version of Star Wars Original Trilogy figures, including (and especially) the new Darth Vader. I have more CMFs to trade now, and I'll also mention that I've got Fantasy Era figures (castle) from 2007 - 2008/2009. The Spartans and Lex Luthor minifigures are still available, as well as the Hazmat Guy. -
LEGO LotR - general discussion
General Magma replied to General Magma's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
The problem with LEGO Ideas is that they won't be making any new molds for that, so we still wouldn't end up with the Witch-king or Gondorian soldiers. -

Hmm, the log entry type of thing does seem to fit in better with that style. Since I'm planning to make this more like a novel-type of story, I think I should just go for the usage of scenes, and give it more of a cinematic feeling. I've got some really nice ideas so I'd say that would be the favorable option here.

Still looking for opinions on this matter, and here's another thing - do you all think I should, as for pictures, stick with "scenes" created to be more cinematic-looking & resemble film stills, for example, or go with photos of MOCs with clear bases? I myself was thinking of the former because it would probably work better for the story - but then again, I'm sitting on the fence with this and some may actually prefer the latter. Maybe not. But either way, I'd like to hear some more thoughts on both this matter and the one described in the first post.

Sets with many flat tiles and small plates
General Magma replied to brickified's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Just go to Bricklink and create a wanted list for the pieces you would like to have, and then check which store is the one that has the most of the pieces on your wanted list compared to other stores. Since you're expressing interest in plates and tiles, you may want to do that instead of buying a set. It'll be cheaper. -
In my house, please. Seriously though, congratulations - it's well-deserved!

Good day! I'm looking for LED Lights that are suitable for use in LEGO MOCs. And that would (much preferably) be the type of LED lights that are connected to a cable (or cables) - not the "bulb with metal rods" kind of things. They can range from small to big, all kinds of different colours, and some should be able to fit into certain pieces. I'm looking for LED lights that can be re-used for different MOCs and thus, different things - mainly (if not only) Star Wars / Sci-Fi MOCs. To show you what kind of things I'm planning to do with them, I'll give you a few examples (not my pics): That should sum it up pretty well. Hopefully somebody can help me find out what kind of LED Lights these are and where I should be able to get them. And if a store in The Netherlands happens to sell them, then that would be fantastic. Thanks in advance!

That radar dish looks really good, and indeed, looking at the picture, it actually does look like there's a LEGO 2x2 piece mounted on the front of the 'real' MF's radar. I wonder if we'll discover Han Solo's AFOL-hood in TFA.

I'm thinking whether I should get a bunch of smaller sets (like Witch-king battle) and save them for a while, to resell them again later (since I already have the set). Been thinking of doing the same with Orthanc (buy two, keep one sealed and sell it later). I'm still doubting whether I should do it or not, but it seems like a good idea to me.

Are people seriously this impatient or do they just have no idea that the figure will be in a set a few months from now? Well either way, at least those extra pictures make me look forward to the new stormtrooper figures even more. I'm just really hoping we'll get an armybuilder for those, though. -

While I do agree that it looks better without the line, it's not too much of a big deal and if it bothers you that much, just brasso it off. I might do the same, actually. -

Woah, where does that picture of LEGO Phasma come from? I'm having a hard time understanding why you're complaining, that helmet looks fantastic. I haven't seen that picture before and I love the helmet even more now. Who cares about a few lines with a helmet as nice looking as this? -
We really do need figures of Azmorigan and Vizago (new aliens!), and an Ithorian bartender figure would also be great. Would give LEGO an opportunity to re-use the mold but in a different color. I wouldn't mind seeing another Gran figure somewhere, either, whether tan or brown. (Ree-Yees is a rather expensive figure on the aftermarket, currently, so a cheaper alternative for that figure would be nice...) Perhaps we'll have some new generic aliens with the SW7 sets.

What does this have to do with a white line? Care to enlighten me? It's not as if they slapped a pink triangle onto the figure or anything that might look out of place, so the example with the white line is exaggerated. Yes, the top of the helmet is somewhat too short, but it doesn't seem like that big of an issue to me. For all we know, the helmet might be misprinted with the print being up a little higher, but even if not... well, it seems fine to me. -

What is wrong with them? Nothing at all, I'd say. From what can be seen so far, I would say they've done a great job on the designs of both BB-8 and Phasma. Wait... Inaccuracy? Well, goodness! I see now that you are right! I mean... look at those hands! No human could possibly have claw hands like that! And don't even get me started on the feet - square feet?! We must all riot in front of the LEGO Headquarters in Denmark immediately! -
If nothing else goes, I'm sure I'd be able to teach myself how to do that - though I'm leaning a little more towards Option B, too, now, and I'm not sure if the comic book style would work well for this. The "walls of text" approach is something I've been thinking of for a while, and I'm still contemplating whether it would be the best thing to go for here or not. I don't want to have too much text ("too much" being an amount that would cause it to have a hard time attracting readers), but probably not too many pictures either, so I'll have to figure out the right balance - and I'm hoping to hear the opinions of more people about it, so I can get a better idea of what people would like best, overall. I'm still rather hesitant to go for the "wall of text" method, it seems to be something people tend to go "TL;DR" on, but maybe not. I also like the last style - the first type without the names, not so much, but then I tweaked it a little and added the names and it came out nicely. Still, I'm not sure if that would be ideal for this (when posting images & accompanying story on Flickr, I would be forced to replace the pics of the heads with just names), so I'm gonna have to find a way to figure out what might work best for this. Maybe a different style altogether would be better, if I'd be able to find one in the first place.
