WANTED] Many Different Star Wars Minifigs
General Magma replied to General Magma's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
First post now contains a little list of minifigs that I'm also looking for now. -
Post your general LEGO Star Wars questions here
General Magma replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I would like for them to become cheaper, though - adding them to a battlepack someday would do the trick. I remember one of the older variants of snowtroopers going for $1 to $2 each at minimum. -

Awesome, great work. But seriously, 60 of those stormtroopers?! How much did that cost you? That's insane... -

I was not quite sure where to place this, but since it's related to LEGO and Star Wars, I figured that it would be best to have it here rather than in 'General Discussion' or 'Brick-Flicks & Comics'. For a long time now, I've been having thoughts of writing my own story revolving around a certain set of invented Star Wars characters, and throughout the months, I have gathered a good amount of ideas, concerning both content and the way I'm going to tackle this. However, I'm now looking for opinions on what kind of way to present the story would seem best to you. One thing has been decided for certain - to accompany the text, I will have images added. But of course, that as a whole is rather obvious. These will be LEGO scenes, made to be as cinematic-looking as possible. So imagine detailed MOCs combined with photography and some digital editing, the result being images that will look more like movie stills rather than just pictures of MOCs. One of my main dilemmas about how this will all be combined with the text is whether I should go for a novel style, comic book style or perhaps even a different style, such as a mix of the two. What would be nice here? Any tips? For a better way to show what I mean, I hereby present to you, several examples... (The little stories were randomly written just to be used here, and have nothing to do with my upcoming story) Examples: A) Novel Style 1 - Few Images [picture of the beginning of the chapter - there won't be that many pictures for each chapter in this case, at times just one or two] (imagine about 30 to 40 or more lines of text before the end of the chapter) "CHAPTER 9: A Fiery Welcome" [picture of Bob's ship at a landing platform] (text describing Bob's arrival on Nar Shaddaa, his run-in with a few criminals and his further search for a Rodian called Reev) [picture of Bob facing Reev] (text describing Bob's conversation with Reev, after which he ultimately kills him) <chapter ends> B) Novel Style 2 - Many Images [picture of the beginning of the chapter] (15 lines of text) [picture of Bob in the city] (imagine 5 to 10 more lines until the next picture) [picture of Bob walking towards his ship] (imagine 10 to 20 more lines here, describing Bob's departure from the planet) [picture of Bob looking out of the window, to end the chapter] "CHAPTER 9: A Fiery Welcome" [picture of Bob's ship at a landing platform] (text describing Bob's arrival on Nar Shaddaa] [picture of Bob's run-in with a few criminals] (text describing the encounter, imagine 10 to 20 lines or more) [picture of Bob's continued search for the Rodian] (text describing the search, imagine more than 10 lines) [picture of Bob facing Reev] (text describing Bob's conversation with Reev, after which he ultimately kills him) [picture of Bob walking away from Reev's dead body] <chapter ends> D1) Less text and more dialogue & pictures (and a different way of presenting dialogue) [picture of two characters walking around in a corridor] They walked back and forth, not speaking a word until one of them finally stood still. SURIP: We can't do this. APE: Who says we can't? SURIP: I don't really know. [picture of Surip taking out his blaster] SURIP: But I do know that it's time to end this. D2) Comic Book Series Style Probably more time consuming and I'm not sure if it would work very well for something like this, but I'm open to the idea. I've also thought of something I've seen in the Nar Eurbrikka subforum, which seemed like something that may be interesting to try, even though I'm not sure if I want to utilize anything like it for my own story at all, since it may feel somewhat limiting and won't work on sites like Flickr (if I do end up posting the full stories there, which I'm currently still doubting about as well), I'd still like to hear what you would think of it. Below, I've combined it (a bit) with the novel style. E1) Nar Eurbrikka Style: Option A "Novel Style - Few images" combined with small minifig head pics to show who's talking [Picture of Han Solo in Mos Eisley Cantina] Han attempted to get out of the cantina, but he was stopped by a Rodian mercenary. The Rodian was pointing his blaster towards Han, urging him to sit down again. He spoke in Huttese, which he was able to translate into Galactic Basic. [HUTTESE] Going somewhere, Solo? Yes, Greedo. As a matter of fact, I was just going to see your boss. E2) With names (could be useful in some cases to make things more clear) [Picture of Han Solo in Mos Eisley Cantina] Han attempted to get out of the cantina, but he was stopped by a Rodian mercenary. The Rodian was pointing his blaster towards Han, urging him to sit down again. He spoke in Huttese, which he was able to translate into Galactic Basic. Greedo: [HUTTESE] Going somewhere, Solo? Han Solo: Yes, Greedo. As a matter of fact, I was just going to see your boss. And then there are also E1 and E2, the same as D1 and D2 but in combination with "Novel Style: many images" rather than few. I'd like to hear your opinions on these ideas so far, which one you think works best, and any suggestions for my story and the process of creating it would also be most welcome. Alternatively, other suggestions for ways of doing it are also welcome. It's going to be quite the project and I want to know what you guys think before I start working on it at all - hence, the creation of this topic. Many thanks in advance! (Also, for those who wish to know, the story will most likely take place during the times of The Old Republic)

Recently, after visiting a flea market: a few minifigures of choice for a cheap price (€1 each, including classic Boba Fett, 2010 Ben Kenobi, old Han Solo & more), as well as a complete 6357 Classic Town set in great condition along with a proper box, and 6898 Ice Planet set, which is complete save for one piece, with a box that now happens to be in poor condition. Does anybody here have any idea what I might be able to ask for these two sets? I got them for €5 and €2 respectively, and I'm looking to sell them now or soon. (The sets, not the aforementioned figures)

LEGO LotR - general discussion
General Magma replied to General Magma's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Well, I'll say a last (dramatic!) goodbye to my thread, then, so it may drift off into the sea - it's been quite a ride, but alas, all the speculation, discussions, hopes and requests remain fruitless. So ends the time of the official LEGO The Lord of the Rings. It will now pass into legend - and our last hopes lie with the third party vendors. BrickWarriors... BrickForge... it is time. And I say upon this theme, farewell, and may the echoes of your glory be ever so persistent! -
What Lego-related thing did you do today?
General Magma replied to Savage Oppress's topic in Community
Yesterday at a flea market, I bought: About 6 minifigures (including SW Obi-Wan, old Han Solo and classic Boba Fett), baby dragon and some accessoires for €5.50, as well as a complete 6357 (complete & in great condition, plus box) for €5 and 6898 Ice Planet set for €2. Apart from (most of) the figures, I think these should have decent values by now and are going to be sold on eBay or BL, alongside several other sets I've found on flea markets in the past several months - some cheap & old MISB sets, too! As for today... well, I've been working on sorting my pieces again. Hoping to have most of that done soon - at least, I'm hoping to have my most essential pieces sorted in a bit... -
LEGO Star Wars 2015 Pictures and Rumors
General Magma replied to Erdbeereis's topic in LEGO Star Wars
How can we know for sure that it won't roll? Surely we've seen magnets paired with LEGO before, or maybe they'll find a way to make the head rotatable over one side, so yeah. I can't think of what the piece was again (that refers to the last solution), but it was some kind of joint you could slide back and forth. I know it's very unlikely, but don't say never unless you know for certain. -

Well, at least my wallet is happier now. -
I love the kind of detailing we're getting on minifigs these days. I'm just a bit afraid that they may continue taking further steps when it comes to minifig printing, to the point of there being printing nearly everywhere. But I'm just kinda hoping it won't ever go that far, so the current figures will always fit in with future ones. Either way, great job on these, everyone - it seems I must amass an army of Rebel Pilots (new ones, since they look fantastic, I can tell), and try some of those, too.

Looks awesome, nice job. I'm also seeing some big improvements in the picture showing your old VS your new castle! Bit of a shame the moveable wall causes there to be a long, line-like gap in the castle, though. Is it always there, or did you just happen to have the wall a little bit opened up during the taking of that picture? And I must also ask - as I have seen them numerous times before now and still don't know - where do those green vines come from, and what are they?

WANTED] Many Different Star Wars Minifigs
General Magma replied to General Magma's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
Little bump and something to hopefully find someone a bit faster - I have stuff like the CMF Spartan, Hazmat Guy and more CMFs like those to trade, so there should be several options there. EDIT2: A pic of some of the figures I've got: -
I hope they might announce a new Rayman game, since they did announce Rayman Legends back then (although that was alongside a new Nintendo console) and since Ubisoft didn't... but I'm not keeping my hopes up this time.

[QUESTION] Modifying Colors of Pieces
General Magma replied to General Magma's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
I've been wondering about that as well, so I have sent a message to AltBricks, regarding dark olive, regular olive (appletini, to come closest to LEGO olive green) as well as brown and dark brown. Let's hope they'll make them, would be great! -
They've been changing many molds the past few years - do you guys think they will ever change the Rodian head mold? I really hope they will never change it and keep it as it is, since it's perfect as it is to me, and I'd like to see more of those guys in different colors, utilizing the same head mold we currently have and have had for years. More generic aliens would also be fantastic, I really hope we'll someday see more of such figures in sets. Perhaps sets that focus on a certain alien species.

And here's yet another gameplay video! Now I'm gonna need to decide whether to get a PS4 or a gaming computer...

LEGO Star Wars 2015 Pictures and Rumors
General Magma replied to Erdbeereis's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Haha, I love how they made fun of TPM and AOTC. And Jar Jar getting shot twice... also Mace Windu's "I've had it with these blasted droids on this barren planet", now they just need a Pulp Fiction reference somewhere as well. Getting a few more of those aliens shown in the video in sets would be nice, too. Hopefully we'll get some cool alien species, both new and old, in the TFA sets. -

Look at the Warg in the foreground, left of Shelob's lair - seems like a fanmade thing to me. -

[QUESTION] Modifying Colors of Pieces
General Magma replied to General Magma's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
Awesome, thanks. Though I'm not sure where I'd be able to get "RIT" in my country, and I'm wondering if this would work on regular LEGO grass stalks as well, since those are more of a flexible plastic. -
Thinking about it, I do regret not getting the UCS Imperial Shuttle or the Millennium Falcon. I feel like I should get Orthanc and the Slave I before I regret not getting those as well, even though that would eventually exceed my budget...
