  1. The Black Seas Barracuda, finally in my possesion, I wanted this set ever since I got into pirates, which was almost 9 years ago. It's a beautiful ship, truly the finest of them all, atleast in my opinion. Apart from my Armada Flagship and a few tiny sets my pirate collection was entirely purchased via the second hands market, There are still a few big ones on my wish list, 6278 Enchanted Island and 6276 Eldorado Fortress are yet to come in my possesion . It's time to update the "about me" page;
  2. Nice, great use of binoculars for cannons .
  3. These look pretty good, I like the green/pearl gold color combo a lot, very fitting for the Armada .
  4. Nicely done, the landscape does suggest a inward land, far away from the coast but it looks good nonetheless.
  5. That was spectacular! Love the cannons, those impacts , great costumes as well. It must have taken many days to shoot this, considering there are so many minifigures to move, great job. A slight complain perhaps is that the horses were moving a bit slow but I know from experience that this is a difficult matter in stop-motion, I loved it .
  6. It's definitely lego, I'm quite the purist, the only exception I make are sails and rigging . I got the part in a small promotional adventurers set but I think it originally was a fabuland part. It's not very practical to use on a ship though because of the handle. That's not Santa Clauss, it's Kurigan, bet...eh...Santa Clauss is around as well If you look closely you can see him in this picture, a wee bit to the right of the blue striped sail. During the TOR the Bluecoats had a strict policy, everyone wearing red was considered a potential threat . I found a picture where Santa is being arrested;
  7. Whew, you definitely have a nice fleet, for a setup I suggest you build a port to accomodate your ships . Do you build own creations?
  8. [pid][/pid] 249C During the third Tournament of Retribution I built a small port to serve as decor for the redcoat/bluecoat skirmish. I however forgot to post this MOC before I demolished it . Fortunatly I retrieved many pictures including some taken by other people. I also improved the lighting in the pictures using photoshop so they appear less dark. Some pictures were taken during the ToRIII, others during BrickMania Wetteren, where the port was integrated in a pirate layout. This is probably my favourite picture; "So this guy walks into a bar..." Actually it's a redcoat walking into a bluecoat bar My bluecoat sigfigy is preparing for the final battle which will eventually result in victory for the bluecoats. I really should work on my full hull ship sometime soon... Whenever I didn't have enough parts I made it look as if it was on purpose by making the minifigures perform "repairs". I never cared much about hysterical historical accuracy, especially on events, where there are many kids visiting I simply like to show off a cool diorama with many funny details. (note the artist on the left painting the windows). Look it's a taxi boat The Elizabeth lies in port, this ship never gets much attention on events... You know, many of us pirate builders like more merchant stuff but I think the truth is that these aren't just very popular with the crowd, a battleship is just more spectacular. That Tower in the background looks nice, doesn't it? Not part of my port unfortunatly , it's Nicks'. Hmm, looks a lot more impressive with that big fortress in the background. So, I hope you like it, it's a rather classic building style I have to say, you may be used to something more refined .
  9. I like this! I'm trying not to get my hopes too high though...
  10. I like the stern view, a very classic ship, don't you have windows for the sides of the cabin?
  11. Looking good, the technique reminds me of Henrik Hoexbroe but he maintly used it for fishing boats ("modern"). I'd love to see a topsail schooner by your hand with this technique .
  12. Okay...You may have prooven me wrong...Maybe . It's looking great so far, keep it up!
  13. Yes! More small hull ships . The black top looks great on that white hull, The original masts pieces work great on these small ships I think. I'm looking forward to an interesting stern design .
  14. Honkolo Island Pirates Captain Bricky and his crew have gotten hold of an ancient map leading to an unknown treasure Island, they set out with their ship to recover the treasure. However, the Island is inhabited... Islanders Onka Tonka is the king of the Islanders, long have they lived peacefully on their beautiful island but not anylonger... The pirates are after their gold, the Islanders do their best to set up traps to capture these greedy pirates and protect the treasure... (Names are temporarely and should be changed to something more fitting)
  15. This has to be the most beautiful brig I've seen and I've seen hundreds, seriously, the lever of detail on the rigging is astonishing, great work!
  16. Looking good, Maybe an Idea, you could switch some of those clip plates in the middle by horizontal clip plates so you attach a bucket, like here. Hystorically acurate? probably not but I think it looks pretty good that way . Keep it up, I'm planning to start on my new ship soon.
  17. I like that Idea, this way every other faction could ally with Islanders, different Islander tribes perhaps. And it would fit my building Idea's .
  18. I like the dynamic vision, I'm often a bluecoat but I like to be a pirate every once in a while (actually I'm more pirate) so I think choosing a faction should not limit anyone in that. Islanders! Yes please .
  19. This is very well done, great quality, keep that up .
  20. I know I don't have the discipline to keep up with such a long term thing, I signed up for GoH but haven't done much, also entered the Shadows of Nar Eurbrikka thing but abondoned it after the first episode . A pirate guild may be different though, I'm quite certain that I will build pirate mocs for a long time still and I hang around here quite often and don't think that will change soon so I would definitely sign up , I think I would devote myself to a big role even. I like the Idea and the discussion should be interesting .
  21. Yes! I'm very happy to see that you're integrating a working anchor system, keep it up!
  22. Gongratulations Cara and Legonardo, a wel deserved win .
  23. This is very good, the ship has great proportions. Hope you find everything you need to build a live one, it will look superb with costum rigging .
  24. The Black seas barracuda ( 6285 ) makes the most versatile pirateship, it would be my pick. The Skull's Eye schooner ( 6286 ) Is bigger, has more sails and masts, larger broadside so if these factors are critical...
  25. I love that beautiful schooner, clever way to connect the sections via the water surface, The land section goes well with the ship, wel done!
