  1. Even assuming that 'someone' had accurate info, 'proportionate' is subjective and does not rule out the BPs that are being suggested. The fact is, we don't know whether TLG can make LOTR BPs. It's just hard to imagine why they wouldn't be allowed to. I can hardly imagine LucasArts being more lenient than New Line on the matter when there were a grand total of five action figures widely marketed for the last Hobbit film and LOTR action figures stopped being made many years ago. On the other hand Star Wars figures are always being pushed.
  2. You have teased me. I look forward to the whole thing. I was quite confused when I read the Stark comment myself... but I like the new king's disco ball!
  3. What a puny pile of gold! Hehehe It's fantastic. I finally got ahold of a Venom so I can try and copy your splendid Orthanc. :)
  4. This is really lovely all around.
  5. I want your Gimlis. I know we're getting quite a few of him but every single piece on him is wonderful and capable of being repurposed. His beard and helmet are so much better than the ones from the fantasy line that by comparison they're made to look like they come from Megabloks or Kreo. I would seriously trade you for them. I agree with you guys about the Wizard Battle being the best small set in LOTR or Hobbit; great figs, great pieces and an important scene. It would not be possible for the Rivendell set to grow on me anymore unless they included old Bilbo or old Gloin (or Glorfindel ). The pieces look incredibly useful and those elves are spectacular. The gate is my least favorite but I still like it enough to get one (I think I like Aragorn in this even more than the Mouth). LEGO would have had better luck convincing me to buy two if they had put new orcs or armor in it but I still probably wouldn't have gotten two. The ship looks wonderful. Not as excited about it as I was for Helmsdeep since I'm a castle fan and this is from a less iconic scene. Still, I'm looking forward to my first ship and it is WORLDS better than Goblintown.
  6. I would bet that he was giving you the release time for the Hobbit sets. I think we'll know when LEGO establishes a release date for Orthanc.
  7. Yes they are! I'm curious what kind of arches we're getting on the back side of it.
  8. I just don't know how to do any evil custom stuff with the rubber yet. I guess I'll be learning.
  9. AyliffeMakit, Darth Vader really does have evil dreams huh? Lightsabering his son in the crotch.. Great funnies everybody!
  10. I think the parets on the floor are a great touch. I don't remember this part of the movie being his most graceful moment... Some scrap lying around makes perfect sense. The arm robot looks great. It would be nice if you could post the main photo here and I think it would inprove your MOC to add a floor. Can I ask, what is Pepper up to back there?
  11. As a general rule, I consider it worth it if it's for more than one figure. Some things like Elrond for example are different though. I'd suggest sending me a PM if you're interested in anythIng. We may be able to work something out. EDIT: Also, a fair number of parts is well worth trading overseas to me. What I don't end up trading for I'll end up having to buy off of Bricklink and inevitably some of those orders will be from European stores anyway. If I remember right you are a yellow head guy and if so, I would love to trade for your flesh stuff. :)
  12. I bet Gandalf's is rubber judging by the shape of it. I'm really hoping the elves' hair is ABS though. I understand the disappointment with the orcs but it still doesn't bother or surprise me. The fact that LEGO called them 'Mordor Orcs' from the beginning makes me feel like they planned on be reusing those for everything Mordor related, otherwise they could have been 'Isengard orcs' They've only been in one set so far and it was a hard-to-find so why not. Plus, they'll be easier to buy off of Bricklink than some new exclusive would be. I'm not saying you guys are wrong to be disappointed, just why I'm not. I AM a little disappointed that they're giving us another baldie though. :/
  13. On the Army of the Dead you mean? I think, and hope, they're sand green. Olive would be a great color to get too though.
  14. I know and I'm afraid Saruman is going to be the same way. I don't understand why they didn't just give us his old beard in white and then a new hairpiece but it still looks great. I won't be ashamed to get out my exacto knife and some glue.
  15. Oh, God knows I am. I want it to be 3 feet tall. I know that's absurd but the closer TLG gets, the happier I'll be. I hope the pictures of Rivendell surface soon. As great as the Corsair ship is, the council set is my gem of the wave. I'm waiting with bated breath GRogall...
  16. I absolutely love this. The forced perspective with Eomer is incredible.
  17. Holy cow. I wonder what lucky location has these available for pick up. No Kmarts down here anymore.
  18. Orthanc! And since that's probably not going to happen, PLEASE show us the Rivendell set.
  19. Thanks. I don't know about a good template but MMCB's stuff is top notch. The site has been closed for a few months now but I don't think it's supposed to be permanent.
  20. Holy cow! Both Adam and Jamie are fantastic for building from the bin. I don't think you could pick a better head for Adam from Bricklink. Sadly, I am not familiar with Dr. Who. I've been told I would love it but I just don't really do TV.
  21. Since I prefer flesh figures that doesn't bother me but only Kili, the four hobbits in the Fellowship and Theoden have flesh on their torsos anyway. I guess it really comes down to quantity as opposed to quality for classic castle fans. I personally could use four or five of many of the dwarves and more of the elves but the only thing that is easy to get multiples of without going to Bricklink/ebay so far is uruks (and Gandalf ) so I understand why some people are so excited about or disappointed in these new sets. It just makes me happy to know that it should be easy to trade my figures off when I get the Dragon Mountain set.
  22. Yeah, we have more nukes than there are countries and we still have bases of soldiers on everyone's doorstep. Why? Because we're 'Murica! Honestly, it makes no sense.
  23. I will trade for unwanted fleshies and those Gimli's that seem to breed like rabbits. Here's a quick summary of what else I'm wanting and what I have. I'm looking for a few figures from LOTR, Marvel and TMNT as well as quite a few minifigure accesories. I have a lot of figures from LOTR/Hobbit and CMF and a few from various other themes. If you are looking for parts, let me know what you need and I'll see if I can help. Questions are welcome here but PMs are preferred for working out a deal. Thanks for looking! 24. I'm not familiar with any of the characters from your most recent post but they look good. Your Pulp Fiction customs are both absolutely perfect! I would love to make some of my own.
  25. I understand what you mean now. The price per piece is still in the same range between licensed and non-licensed sets but LOTR did have more large sets last year than this year's Castle theme and the lack of a battle-pack type set at a lower price point is admittedly a serious drawback. There seem to be a lot of people who are convinced that licensed sets cost more simply because they are licensed and I assumed incorrectly that's what you meant.
