The Forest 3 Mafia Sign-Up Thread
jimmynick replied to Hinckley's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Yeah, I made a little tweak to my username. It seems that @Trekkie99 has changed his name from LegoMonorailFan even since signing up for this game. -
I know the MOC is named after the temple, but I really love the ship. Those rust streaks are beautiful. Great work and thanks for sharing!

Yes Yes Yes (and that's interesting!) -
Got to say I agree here. When I was a teenager I was all over collecting individual figures, but I think I've chilled out a bit. Sometimes I buy a set because of a figure (Aayla Secura in the Hovertank, Benny's Space Squad) but I am not a hellbent completionist like some are. I do empathize, though, considering I used to be that way and I do maintain a stamp collection on the side. That said, I think the only figure I've gone out of my way to purchase was the Revan polybag, and I am quite happy to buy a set for the build rather than figs. Aside from Star Wars, the theme in which I am most heavily invested (financially and MOC-wise) is Architecture, which has no figures at all! Yeah, I see this gatekeeping complaint frequently. It doesn't matter how people buy and use Lego sets, as long as there's one for me to buy if I want it! As it pertains to modular buildings, while figures are not the USP of the line, I do think they are necessary to complement the flavour of the builds, such as the veterinarian over the Corner Garage or the chef in Chez Albert.

I think we should.

Wow - so creative in inspiration and execution. Approximately how long is it? The curves of the canopies and the hull around the S give it such an old-school look, as if you might have seen this floating around zemi.net 12 or 13 years ago. What an amazing build. Thanks for sharing.

I love the little scenes with the clouds, as well as the stands of toys. I hope the exhibition was fun!

I don't think I've ever seen a (mostly) Galidor moc before, but what a curious character you have here! A very strange shape, and I like the furry legs & arms as well. Nice little build!

General Discussion and Announcements

I'd be down for that. -
If I had done that, I would have died and hence lost It was much more self-preservation than real strategy.

The Forest 2 had a rule about "fully accepting being recruited to whatever team" or whatever and I even mentioned it to you, and there was a whole thing when Shadows recruited Draggy except Draggy won as SK and not scum, and the subsequent politics. Ah, I see. It was the combination of Henry being very clever and very good at mafia, and the PM recommendation to read the last day of Belville Mafia. Honestly given all the thoughts he entertained about me being converted, I really am surprised def didn't throw a vote my way.
-
Yeah, I could do this again. The anonymity made it fun, though I did figure out Dannylonglegs and pin down Henry to Shadows/def/Hinck/Fugazi. I did try to build you a watertight alibi!

Hold up: how come Louisa was unsuccessful on night 8? Is it because Timothy died?

http://i.imgur.com/SkBbJNY.gifv This is difficult when nobody is vanilla, though. I can understand your complaint about how the rules were written. I just played the hand I was dealt... sorry! I have two comments for Bob: Firstly that the alternate-night scum kill seemed very weak, but on the other hand town eviscerated itself as a result. Secondly, I do feel that Gordon should have been able to give Jack a magnifying glass on the night I killed him. This was fun, if long. Thanks for hosting, Bob!

That's a gorgeous station building - I love the iron-and-glass canopy. Great work!
-
I don't see your reflection in the police station's windows, so knowing what you usually get up to, I expect this is some very high-effort rendering?
-
It seems like you've chosen to build silver dollar pancakes, but your beanie hat blueberries are so gorgeous that I bet you could build larger pancakes and insert the blueberries into the surface using back-to-back arches. I do like the orange slices, though. Did you make the segments using trans-orange slopes? I can't quite tell.

Hi @randomboy, I'm glad you're able to double up on space to have both a LEGO layout and an HO gauge model railway. That's an awful lot of room you've got there, and I hope you use it well. I look forward to seeing MOC photos soon!

I like the bend you've created using the mixel joints. The repeated spherical white masses are nice, too. Good build, thanks for sharing!

[CONTEST] Benny's Spaceships Building Academy
jimmynick replied to Bob De Quatre's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
Oh, this sounds cool! I'll see what I can do, maybe. -
I'm not sure we need some fundamental explanation for the spooky town - if and when such a thing is revealed, that's it. You can't string the theme along unless you come up with a new big bad, and I do hope this theme sticks around.
