24: Mafia - Hour 2: 11am to 12pm
jimmynick replied to KotZ's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
This seems like you want someone to come out and say "nope, no power roles got killed last night", getting them to trip themselves up and reveal their own PR to you. Sounds an awful lot like "Did we kill any PRs last night? Asking for a friend." As it is, I was convinced Officer Skinner was scum so I guess I'm sorry for being brash in PM. -
A 2-year bump! Excellent work, great detail. I'm in awe of its size - how large will it be when it's finished? How many pieces do you estimate will be in the completed model?
-
Yes, it looks lovely! Thanks for sharing. Setting the Interceptor on its stand at that slight angle is a great call, as are the grille plates on the exterior.

As for me? I'm Vanilla Town. See? Now we're 33% done with claiming. I recommend everyone else claim to me in the night (coffee break? who knows), or at least slip a $2 bill into my thong.

[MOC] Sulphur-crested cockatoo
jimmynick replied to PolkovnikOnTheWhiteHorse's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Those eyes are amazing! Excellent use of the minifig ruff to make the eyelids. Everything else around the head is lovely, too. Great work. edit: Is the iris a Clikit? -
Ummmmm, uhhhh, yes, honey????? Lying low is for scum, and if you're town then you aren't pulling your weight. Challenge people, spill the tea, give the scum something to fight off. Unless, of course, you don't want to make things too hard for yourself. This is a vote based on roleplay, which seems suspect. "Lemme start a bandwagon real quick.... oops didn't mean to!" Protecting buddies? To what end? You want more action, so you... vote for Zip because he's active? Weird.

@fhomess or are you suggesting my next act could involve a nurse? I could definitely try and squeeze into a sexy nurse Halloween costume! But, seriously, Dr. James is parroting pretty much everything I say. Consider yourself on notice...
-
I see someone else has picked up on the fact I seem to have a little echo, which is a bit suspect. Still, it's good to have fans. Make sure to catch me at the (what city is our setting?) local burlesque as soon as this mole problem is resolved, y'hear?
-
Town always outnumber scum so absent concrete evidence (are we asking someone to claim cop?) the odds of lynching one of us are too high. Barry, if you're not going to vote, would you list your top suspicions? That's what analysts do, right? My top four are Bob (Bob), Larry (Khscarymovie4) and Officer Skinner (mediumsnowman) and Riley (jluck) Cheers, but I messed up. Do I have to: Unvote: Diane Greene (fhomess) Turns out that when you read people's signatures instead of the thread OP, you make mistakes. To fix it: Vote: Riley Marshall (jluck)

Awwww hunty, you couldn't wait longer than seventeen minutes to vote for the same person without providing much in the way of content? I smell a rat gerbil badger mole serving up 100% fishy realness. Unvote: Dr. James (Tariq j) Vote: Michael Wright (jluck)

LEGO Star Wars 2019 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!
jimmynick replied to Stash2Sixx's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I mean, either it's a high-quality detailed build and all the parts are packed in densely to make the form and greebles, or it's cheap. I think, for example, the 4+ TIE fighter is a decent set. Sure, it's tiny and not nearly as detailed as some of the MOCs we see around here, but it is a real and playable scene. -
I thought I'd made it clear enough but my shtick is I'm an out-of-place mall cop moonlighting as a drag queen.
-
As Jason and Alfred pointed out, voting in order to prod someone into action is a legitimate strategy. It would say that even if you were a mole. Hmmmmm... I'm going to prod Vote: Dr. James (Tariq j) into action. All this roleplay has got me hungry. Let's check out the Cinnabon next door.

That's a nice build, @Sirius91. I like your use of tyres for Hedwig's eyelids. Good luck in the contest!

These mods are looking great! Keep up the good work.

Stop motion Lucy and Emmets Escape Buggy!
jimmynick replied to Bloktopus's topic in Special LEGO Themes
This is a lovely animation, and very nice job with the tumbleweeds - thanks for sharing! I know from experience how hard and time-consuming it can be to animate with stop-motion. But it really belongs in the Brick Flicks & Comics subforum - paging @Rufus. -
I have noticed a profusion of posts to the front page by a mysterious user known as "Eurobricks". Thanks for the hard work; it's great to see MOCs that I miss when I'm just browsing.

Good plan, Joker. I could stab them with my stilettos or perhaps run them over with my hoverboard, that would give me something to do! I haven't seen this much action since I had to jog gently to cut the power to an out-of-control massage chairs, you know the type they have in the middle of the hallway at the mall? Ingratiating ourselves with our compatriots, are we, Senator Greene?

Ah, dahlings, I've got it! Moles, like the little velvet one I stick to my cheekbone after I put on my face, some scarlet heels and a feather boa and head down to the bar! How titillating! I'm afraid I am probably a touch too heavy to use one, though .
-
Oh dear, moles and terrorists! When I signed up for this job I thought I would spend my day yelling angrily at shoplifters and loitering teenagers! Do I even get a walkie talkie in this role? Where's the nearest Auntie Anne's?
-
I can imagine Malfoy Manor as a set, which could include Charity Burbage... or perhaps TLG would portray the Bellatrix / Dobby / Ollivander scenes instead.
-
I missed this last week but I agree with everyone else - I too loved the catalogues and sets in the late 90s and the turn of the century, and you've done an excellent job recreating that vibe. Thanks for sharing!

Amethyst Geode
jimmynick replied to Swan Dutchman's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
What a beautiful build - I'm very impressed with the SNOT techniques you used to have studs facing out but also to put the cheese slopes facing in. Real geodes are cut like that, though. -
Hi @ShadowWolfHount! I saw this on Flickr earlier today and I thought it looked interesting, though to be honest I thought the School Bus set was related to Cuckoo's Nest instead of an actual school. If you envision a school set at $60-$90, you have plenty of room to spare. Make the ceilings higher! Include another room, perhaps a music room or a gymnasium. I can tell that your school building is fairly small compared to the gate you put in the school bus set concept. It's an excellent start but there's room to improve. Thanks for sharing! P.S.: what software did you use to render your images?

Your screen name gives it away a little bit, I think . Welcome to Eurobricks, Nico, and I hope to see some of your MOCs soon!
