  1. I saw these on Brickshelf and hoped that they were here so I could complement the creator. All of these are really good but the King Beast is just amazing! It even looks majestic! Excellent MOCs. Great job Konahrik!
  2. Why do you prefer the fluorescent colors over the normal transparent colors? Do they not "light up" as well? (when in front of a light source) The colors that I remember lighting up the best were the light blue, orange and lime Metru eye pieces. Were those fluorescent? The other three (dark blue red and green) hardly lit up at all. All the Bohork eyes looked find to me though. I never had a problem with those.
  3. RIP Pohatu. It's a shame that he's got trans-lime not trans-yellow. Haha, I always used to pretend that the exposed eye/brain piece was a weak spot when I was younger. Now it really is!
  4. I just noticed that these huge hi res pictures dash the hopes of individually controlled arm swinging gears. Oh well, I'm not big on gears anyway, I just hope that they're easy to lock into place. Anyway, Onua looks fantastic! The dual use of his weapons look like they'll be the best of the bunch. Shovel hands or sledge hammer? Can't go wrong. The Earth defender looks very nice as well, that color scheme is great. I'm quite excited to see the defenders.
  5. Did... I hit my head today? I've never been very interested in modern themes, (born and raised a castle fan) but some of these sets look really, really good to me. The vehicles are mainly what are interesting me. Maybe all the modern pieces and building techniques Lego is using nowadays is why they look so appealing. I love the snowplow. All of those med-sized construction vehicles in the Demolition Site look great. And that new crocodile looks fantastic! It'll never 100% replace the cute old mold for me, but it's nice to have an alternative that looks a bit meaner. Why do I care about these sets? I'll go bankrupt maintaining a medieval town AND a modern one.
  6. Really? To me, Kopaka's legs absolutely scream "END MY SUFFERING!" That's the biggest offender. Otherwise I'll be fixing the inconsistent color layering that is here and there in a few of these sets.
  7. Oh ho ho ho ho. Now that was a fun read. Ahem... Anyway, those leaked... pamphlets(?) pretty much remove any doubt that this will be a remake/reboot. Which makes me happy. Makes sense to me.
  8. My first set was the original Kopaka. As a kid completely obsessed with Link from The Legend of Zelda the sword and shield made him a must have set. But that was the only Bionicle set that I bought for a pretty good while. The Rahkshi were the line that really got me into Bionicle. They're the line that I'm most nostalgic towards. The Mata and Nuva's rather extreme lack of poseability is why I never had much interest in them. My last set was Tarduk. Nearly all of it's joints broke. Poor little guy.
  9. Yay finalized pictures! Thank you Just2good! I miss this more consistent color schemes of the old Bionicle sets. It's something I've never seen anyone else comment on, so maybe I'm just crazy, but the way these colors layer with one another is way too sporadic for my taste. Tahu looks great other than the screwed up Hau. That redesign came out much worse. The original was fine. Lewa... ugh. Lewa... What did they do to you? Since when do the colors bright-ish green, orange-ish yellow and silver go well together? Gali looks great, I'm optimistic that the angle isn't flattering for the Kaukau. The axe blade flippers (I'm assuming that's what they are anyway) look cool. Onua sadly left the team. He was tired of people pretending that he was a girl. Pohatu is alright. The asymmetry is cool and different. Silver is kinda boring, however, trans-yellow certainly is not. That Gurrahk staff head is so confusing. What purpose does it serve? I'll be interested to see what's up with that. Kopaka is my favorite out of these. His legs look awful, ridiculously bulky. But his mask is fantastic. That spear is underwhelming, but who isn't planing to trash it and replace it with those big blades? Overall all of these look like they will need some modding (keep color layering consistent damn it!) but I'm no stranger to that! It's great to see Bionicle back and I'm excited to see how future sets will evolve the CCBS system. Right off the bat we got gears, something I never would have thought would happen.
  10. I'd say that I like the Zamor Sphere Launchers the best. Multiple shots, good range, accurate, and not too terribly bulky. Rhotuka Spinners are a ton of fun, but difficult to incorporate into MOCs and very, very, very inaccurate. Beautiful.
  11. Found a few here at my local Walgreens here in NC. They are selling them for 3.99$ each, I was relieved that it wasn't 4.29$. That price hike still kills the notion of buying multiples for me though. There were only four left hanging on the rack. I picked up the Wizard and Dino Tracker, and passed on the Space Miner and Swashbuckler. Sadly no Hun or Spooky Girl, the two I wanted the most. The Wizard looks great in real life, better than in the pictures for some reason. I really like this 'fig. He'd look better in a blue cape though, I plan to supply him with one. Speaking of his cape, it feels different than all the other Lego capes that I've ever had, like it's more delicate or something. The Dino Tracker is alright, but I bought her for the pieces anyway. Even though I've skipped 3 series (11, Lego Movie, and The Simpsons) I "felt out" the Wizard, Swashbuckler and Dino Tracker almost immediately. I still have the gift!
  12. Ah, series 12 is already turning up here in the US? Glad I looked in this topic. I had been checking Brickset's news articles expecting them to mention it like they usually do. I'll have to check my local Walgreens. Man, that increase to 4$ is going to drastically reduce the number of 'figs that I'll buy.
  13. I've seen preliminary pictures of sets before, but I've never seen anything as hilarious as the chef torso for a pirate. He even has a pan instead of a cutlass in the largest set! The frog that is seemingly glued to that palm tree hit me funny too. I'm surprised that some think that these builds are final, I would be quite surprised if the end results are this barren and unimaginative. I mean, I don't expect huge changes to be made, but I'd bet that these will be touched up a decent amount. Perhaps I'm just being overly optimistic though. But I do hope that white bandanna stays. So I can make my own chef pirate. That's a nice recolored part. The dark red tattered cape sail too, I've wanted that element in that color for a long time, and the Chima sets don't interest me in the least. Those pieces and the dark red mason bricks are the only things this generation of the Pirate theme has going for it if they don't have nice prints on the minifigs and/or improve the sets some.
  14. Wow, HUGE redesign on that mask. I like them both but this one looks much better. The change is so dramatic, it has me wondering how much the sets themselves will change. Piston aesthetic on the shells? More subtle gold accents on the Toa's armor? Man, I can't wait for the official reveal. Or just leaks of the finalized designs.
  15. Yeah, that roof is a success for sure. Looks great. That fence is very interesting. Just tension huh? I don't think I've ever seen that done before. It looks really good, I'll have to try it sometime. Great little MOC!
  16. No titan ever topped Brutaka for me. He just looked so imposing. I loved his color scheme too.
  17. I recently read in a review that it has a rather significant bend in side of the blade. You know, the way you wouldn't want a sword to bend. At first I was going to write it off as a manufacturing error, but then I noticed the same problem in . (around the 2: 51 mark)If you own this part, does yours have a sideways bend? If so, is there a way to straighten the piece out? It wouldn't be a problem if I was building a helicopter or something, but I'm using it as a sword on some of my old Bionicle sets to celebrate the theme's return. Oh how pretty. When I clicked "preview post" the Eurobricks banner switched over from the Summer theme to Autumn. It looks very nice.
  18. Agree with you 100%. Let me just add the biggest example: Pokemon 649 of 'em. The idea that children can't keep up with Bionicle's weird terms and names is a bit silly if you ask me.
  19. Aww, so cute! I love snowmen an inordinate amount. I love the scarf. The hat looks great too. Nice job!
  20. At least my hopes were dashed quickly. So these will likely have flesh colored skin as apposed to yellow? That's a shame. It renders all potentially useful hair+ears pieces useless for me since I only use traditional yellow. I guess we could still get some useful parts from this theme.
  21. Goodness, this turned out to be true? Color me shocked! I don't know why we assumed that Chris Pratt was off his rocker. (Which he would have to be to mistake Lego for any other brand after voicing the main character in the Lego Movie) Anyway, as I said at the start of the topic, I can't wait for new dino molds. I won't be making the mistake of passing on them this time around.
  22. Oh yeeeeaaah. Whether the leak is fake or not, Shulk pretty much just got confirmed from a whole different source: Adam Howden (Shulk's voice actor) said a while back that he is working on a "secret project." This seems to be a pretty clever way of confirming Shulk. (unless he's heartlessly trolling us ) Fortunately, no.
  23. Nope. There are absolutely zero legal issues. Nintendo owns 100% of everything DK related. K. Rool and a ton of Kongs showed up in Donkey Kong Barrel Blast on the Wii. K. Rool also showed up in Mario Super Sluggers. I've wanted K. Rool since before Melee. I really hope he gets added this time. While I like Fire Emblem, it having twice the representation as the DK series (a cornerstone in gaming) in Smash 4 is just seems weird.
  24. Well, it looks like I'll be dining on 1x1 bricks...
