Something I don't think I've seen discussed here yet; what is in top left-hand set in this leaked image? It looks like a couple of these connected in the middle with one of these, holding a Skrall saw on the left, and some sort of claw on the right. And two disembodied feet below all of it. What do you guys see? I think I suck at deciphering blurry pictures.

Agreed. I hope Lego sticks to their guns too.

LEGO Sci-Fi 2014 Pictures and Rumors
Sir Walter Maugham replied to Bob De Quatre's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
Wow, I've never seen these before. Preliminary/prototype Lego sets are always so interesting to look at. Seatron seems like it would have been an amazing theme. When were these made? -
I've got a bit of a soft spot for the Rock Raiders theme and this looks like it fits in perfectly with the original sets. Very nice MOC!

Yeah, I'm not a huge fan of the Lone Ranger pistol either. The fact that nothing can clip onto the barrel is a big downside. Makes it impossible for minifigures to pistol-whip each other the way they do in Westerns.

Mm... Personally, I'd be mighty disappointed if these super smooth and simple shells from HF stay. They are the main reason I disliked the theme so much. I think the best solution would be to introduce new textured shells. But what do you guys mean by "add on"? I can't visualize it.

LEGO Sci-Fi 2014 Pictures and Rumors

Yeah... I don't know about that. I wish I could build something like that with my spare parts... -
Would you like the Vikings theme to return?
Sir Walter Maugham replied to Alfadas's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Wow, that is a fantastic build! The front gate looks so imposing. Now I want Vikings to comeback even more. I actually like the oversized decoration on top of the long house. But, if you're going for a mostly realistic longhouse, I guess it should probably be downsized. -
Should LEGO cut ties with Shell?
Sir Walter Maugham replied to legoman19892's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Ugh. I saw this thread a few days ago, and though: "Well, it's complete idiocy, but at least it won't get much media attention, right?" But upon Googling "Lego" today I see that articles about this show up near the top. These halfwits remind me a lot of PETA. Also... Um... I think that... err... Well, I was going to type more, but I agree 100% with Wodanis and couldn't have said it better. I defer to his post.- 214 replies

LEGO Sci-Fi 2014 Pictures and Rumors
Sir Walter Maugham replied to Bob De Quatre's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
Oh, thanks for spreading this info. I'm a really lazy buyer. I'll snatch it as promptly as I can after launch. -
Wow, this is a really nice build. The lookout tower is just perfect. The colors, the shape, everything. The tent is wonderfully built too. The way the bony spikes are bristling everywhere, but still aren't overabundant. Really nice job.

Wow, I can't imagine what a... difficult task this must have been to build. The end result is so striking. But apart from the obvious awesomeness of having such a huge build supported in such a way, I really like the little details in your moc. Especially the windows on each side of the door, those look so nice. Great use of parts there. Those tentacles are supposed to be roots, right? Or is the rock... alive? *horror music*

LEGO Sci-Fi 2014 Pictures and Rumors
Sir Walter Maugham replied to Bob De Quatre's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
Oh man, this set ended up looking very, very nice. I liked the original model, but was unsure if I would still be interested after it went through Lego's redesign; but it looks stellar. I even like a few aspects of it more. This is the first set to come out of the Cuusoo (now Ideas) program that I'm really like. And a just a 35$ price tag? I was expecting 50$, or maybe more. I don't think I'll be able to pass this beauty up. -
Wow, mere days after I start browsing this site again I stumble upon this huge news. (Assuming this is real) If this Bionicle revival does happen, I really hope that Lego can change up the aesthetics of Hero Factory's "bone and shell" system enough to keep the same general look that the old Bionicle sets had. Regardless, I'm on the hype train and quite excited to see where this goes. Choo choo laddies.

Ha, these are the sort of creations I was looking forward to the moment I saw the new Mixel eye parts. Love the cartoony look. The Lizard King in particular stands out. Really nice use of the King Mathias crown. And with some color swaps Chirpy could look just like Kazooie from Banjo-Kazooie. Great builds!

MOC: Lake Point Tower, Chicago
Sir Walter Maugham replied to Spencer_R's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Wow, you did an amazing job. How exactly did you make that inner curve? Maybe I'm just rusty, but I can't quite tell how it's accomplished just by looking at it. -
Wow, I really like these. Especially Caterpie and Blastoise. Caterpie looks absolutely spot on, and you captured Blastoise (who happens to be an old favorite of mine) perfectly in a sort of "chibi" form. Fantastic job!

Would you like the Vikings theme to return?
Sir Walter Maugham replied to Alfadas's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Ooh, I would love the Vikings line to make a comeback. The comical oversized horned helmets and fantasy setting didn't bother me much at all. The crazy death machines were a bit... no, very over the top and unrealistic, but were quite fun they had a charm of their own. (I consider the 7020 "Heavy Artillery Wagon" to be one of best designed shooting mechanism that I've seen in a official Lego set) A revamped Vikings line featuring a wider variety of mythological creatures, (molded ones, to avoid that robotic look) and a few less crazy death machines would be very exciting and appealing to me. -

I've never had any interest in Lord of the Rings, but now we have gotten dark red and orange foliage pieces from these sets. Now I can finally make purist Autumn trees!- 7,499 replies

Looks like I'll most likely be skipping this line. I'm pretty disappointed that the dragon didn't get a new head mold. (Not to mention that his printing makes him look somewhat like he is under the influence of a certain cannabis. ) It appears there will be a generous use of that Shadow Knight helmet. And good gravy, the heraldry somehow manages to look worse than the old KK1's did. However, the main castle isn't all that bad. a bit too colorful maybe, but that can be fixed. And the Vampire-esque faces of the baddies interest me. (Thank you to Lordofdragons for pointing that out)

Oops! Guess I read what I wanted to read.

Interesting. Glad to hear that the smallest set does in fact have one of those new horses in it. Plus four 'figs and some foliage pieces thanks to the tree. Sounds like I'll be picking up a few of those regardless of how the other sets turn out.

I'm pretty surprised that Lego responded to this. I don't think this warrants anything but a "Damn, you people are stupid.". But I'm not in Public Relations. I'm also surprised at how many people are bashing this news site. There is nothing Right or Left about this story, it's just something to tell.
