Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2014 Rumors & Discussion
TheBrickHitHouse replied to just2good's topic in LEGO Licensed
Think I'll need to swap the shells for the cartoon version from the other Turtles sets. Otherwise...not too shabby really, it's not POTC cheap cash in quality. -

What are your Lego Star Wars collecting habits?
TheBrickHitHouse replied to Something_Awesome's topic in LEGO Star Wars
It's all about size for me! Love the huge sets - something like the sand crawler, full of features, figures and just dazzling on display. I'll get smaller sets for the minifigs but it's the big sets that stay. Think there is something so impressive about these giant vehicles (or locations) rendered in lego form. Larger sets can show more flair - clever building techniques and the like That said - if I'll be getting a great figure I'll be buying a set... -

Couldn't resist the absurdly over priced shredder lair set. Just adore the colour scheme and the foot clan banners -
What will happen when you run out of space?
TheBrickHitHouse replied to MatthewH's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I play a sort of 'survival of the fittest' regime. I buy everything in the (many) themes I love - display them all and then when the next wave comes out the sets that have grown on me the least are sold - and the process resumes. I like to think it results in the best of both worlds - I always have space and what's on display is the absolute best lego has produced (so right now, loads of giant UCS stuff) -
Champing at the bit for this. I think we can safely assume VIP's can get it 2 weeks early, so a month to go?

Baron Sat's Lego Death Star Playset
TheBrickHitHouse replied to ISDAvenger's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Hats off @ShrikeArghast - we beat bullies by standing our ground. I would be truly honoured if someone built and enjoyed a model I made. -
Amazing set - I feel privileged to be able to add it to my collection. People moaning about the definition of UCS suddenly makes lego look very nerdy - please...try and maintain your self respect, if not for yourselves but the rest of us? Under £0.10 per brick so the price is good to excellent.

LEGO Star Wars 2014 Pictures and Rumors
TheBrickHitHouse replied to Erdbeereis's topic in LEGO Star Wars
To all those that moan about prices I'd just ask you consider a few things: 1) is it not better that a set exists than not exist? One can always save up - but one cannot dream a set into reality 2) just because you can't afford it doesn't mean this forum isn't filled with people that can. Don't spoil our enjoyment wit your jealousy. Why not harass people on an Aston Martin forum instead... 3) why would lego ever listen to your moaning when it is directed in such an absurd way? You are angry this set exists?! -
LEGO Star Wars 2014 Pictures and Rumors
TheBrickHitHouse replied to Erdbeereis's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I assume it falls in the usual two UCS (May and September) routine we've seen for a while from Star Wars (X Wing and Ewok in 2013 and so on). Can't wait - sold the old sandcrawler to free up space. The design really shows up the original... On another topic, Didn't notice the jawas weren't wearing capes but I don't think they did in the film? -

Combines superb accuracy with that delightful 'lego-feel' of a SYSTEM set allowing it to be both a toy and 'sculpture'. Lego: let me buy this NOW! -

Review 76017 Captain America Vs. Hydra
TheBrickHitHouse replied to Solscud007's topic in LEGO Licensed
Well... Lego have to up their game on these Marvel and DC sets. I'm sure there must be teams at lego that work on different projects - the guys that 'designed' this need to talk to the guys that make the Star Wars sets (who seem to get the whole 'inspiration' bit) Was even printed legs too much effort? I'd expect more from a kinder egg toy... -

Glorious set - huge and virtually impossible to actually display - just the way I like my lego sets! Real bargain too - a star wars set of the same pieces would be £100 more... Set manages to really capture that sense of fun lego can have- 158 replies

LEGO Star Wars 2014 Pictures and Rumors
TheBrickHitHouse replied to Erdbeereis's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Why does Lego include one figure without printed legs in seemingly each set? Does the money just run out - why all but one? It's annoying as it looks like different styles. -
LEGO Star Wars 2014 Pictures and Rumors
TheBrickHitHouse replied to Erdbeereis's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Awesome figures - just 'wow', those B Wing figures...speachless Why does every fig have leg printing - but the snow trooper? How does the AT AT pilot get leg printing but not the snowtrooper - did the money run out at that exact moment?! Most of the sets look sensational - the millenium falcon-esque Rebels ship is glorious, wonder what the opening sections are for. The snowspeeder looks to be the best yet, the Cantina is great and Jek's ship and the B Wing are just lovely. We'll need some much better picture of the ISD and AT AT to make any call - the AT AT appears to have an empty interior? The ISD interior is a bit facical but I'll settle for the figures. -
Ghostbusters 30th Anniversary CUUSOO set Discussion
TheBrickHitHouse replied to Itaria No Shintaku's topic in LEGO Licensed
Just gorgeous - was worried the Toy Fair version was the final one! I'd have liked the doors to open but I'm really splitting hairs - this is a set I'll probably get a couple of. Shame no leg printing...oh well. -
News The LEGO Movie: 70810 MetalBeard's Sea Cow
TheBrickHitHouse replied to Rufus's topic in Special LEGO Themes
What a display piece! And what an incredible price - they are giving this away for so many bricks, a star wars set would have been £275! It might be a hopeless mash of bizarre styles - but it just has 'it' that 'wow, it will display great' vibe. First day buy for me. Love the mini Metal Beard - think he looks better actually.- 158 replies

Where's Lisa's sax?! How could they miss that! Love this set and the price is superb! Thank goodness it's out so soon! A clear 10/10 that I imagine I will keep along with the Death Star for ever.

As a collector, the integrity of the second hand market for lego is very important to me - years ago I wouldn't have worried about knock-offs on ebay and bricklink (with the dreadful quality of the figures making them easy to spot) but now...those Iron Man figures look pretty authentic, I'd hate to ever acquire one believing I had the real thing. The economic impact on Lego of this stuff is probably negligible - but some of these products may well contain lead paint and actually be very dangerous, it's not just a question of a wacky alternate Green Lantern designs and a bit of quirky fun - this stuff could actually harm the buyer.

TAKE MY MONEY NOW! Hate those figures - but the house is great!

REVIEW: 70808 Super Cycle Chase
TheBrickHitHouse replied to Clone OPatra's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Glorious set - the car looks great on display and I'm very pleased with mine. Shame the flick fires weren't swapped for the Star Wars new shooter bricks (although modification isn't hard). The car can fit two...just...but is have liked the seating arrangement to have been more natural- 27 replies
