  1. Sith infiltrator is out - really has been no enthusiasm for that set, has there? Anyone know why lego tends to release one set each year in August, separate from the summer wave in May? Always struck me as odd...
  2. The list has that baffling quality that ensures it's accurate, you can always tell real news from fake news because the fake news is always like a 'wish list'. Another droid escape set? Absurd, thus guaranteed to be true.
  3. So much printing! Where is that in other themes?! That said, bet barely a third have back printing - I can't understand why that gets dropped when it is standard elsewhere... Plant guy is to become one of my Poison Ivy henchman in the jokerlsnd set, he'll fit right in...
  4. How can there be measurements and a weight for a set that doesn't even have a name! I think those are placeholder figures
  5. C'mon, the thread is about bad sets - not sets you disliked. That set is objectively sound, it's well built and accurate. Whether you like it is another matter. 'Bad' sets are really anything before 2005. I just can't fathom how a professional designer produced the original Falcon, Slave 1, MTT or Sith Infiltrator. These look like children built them and they can't be excused because a certain mould wasn't available (it's lego, be creative...or just make the mould) The answer is, of course, lego knew they could make money based on the set name alone, they might have even assigned the junior designers - ultimately they didn't care. Lego almost went bust and that forced a change in culture. My pick for worst set has to the TIE Bomber. It's just inexplicable - even a child would have got the colour right (blue! It's all blue!). It looks exactly like the creations I made at age 6. I would love to sit down with the designer and have them explain to me why I'm 'wrong'.
  6. Seriously, enough with the spoiler tags - it's absurd. If you are that OCD about spoilers, maybe a forum isn't the place you should be. I'm pleased Lego gave us an 'alternate' Ant Man suit, it also (ironically) threw us off as to how the final showdown would play out. I think Falcon would have been a logical inclusion, but that scene was likely added very late to the film anyway and Lego probably wouldn't have known
  7. The black trooper is dreadful - the helmet mould doesn't fit and the designers seem to have just forgotten about the printing! In respect of the flame troopers, it's interesting how TFA has gone back to the all white troops, makes a change from the rainbow warriors of the Clone Wars TV show.
  8. The film's release date works well for lego - wave 1 can be launched in September and they can be ready with wave 2 in their usual January wave, only weeks after TFA premiers. As such, Lego have probably designed one 'big' wave and staggered the release over two dates. I imagine January is where we'll see battle packs
  9. One does wonder how lego justifies it - because it's certainly not to do with cost, even more so with a set where there profit margin is so high.
  10. So, Jek's star fighter and the old Falcon with more dark grey pieces?
  11. I thought Vader was the hero? Cleaned out the corrupt Jedi, launched a massive jobs programme (building the Death Star), invested in defence and cracked down on terrorists. He'd be a Republican hero! Anyway, no new TFA sets shown. Shame, we need something to get excited about - so far a black TIE fighter and an X Wing arent really all I'd hoped for from a NEW trilogy...
  12. What on earth happened to the 3rd wave? Presumably Lego abandoned production and just released the sets it had in the factory - bizarre they cancelled things so late on
  13. It's certainly very small for a UCS set - but the door + trench + snow speeder + wampa cave could hit 1500 bricks, maybe
  14. I'm counting the stone guy as a 13th figure! Never been interested in this line, owing to its daft figures and weird vehicles, but this is a beautiful set. Might get it.
  15. Things have gone very quiet as to whether we're getting another UCS set for the year. Rumour has been for Hoth base - with the new advent calendar trooper as evidence. Was quite looking forward to that...
  16. Yeah, he'd be looking at a potential jail term if anyone reported him.
  17. You've not been buying much lego lately, have you? Lego have been including great figures in everything from their cheapest to most expensive sets for decades. Maybe check out the DC and Marvel sets, grab yourself Carnage.
  18. People are sick of reissues, reissues of sets AFOLs don't like and reissues from a film AFOLs don't like. We could get a few AOTC sets before there's the need to release a 5th (?) Sith Infiltrator
  19. The Stormtrooper looks great, whereas some of the others have looked a bit 'lego-ish' this guy holds his own as an accurate action figure that just so happens to be made of lego. With the exception of Luke and Jango, I'm dangerously close to being impressed!
  20. Lego will never make sets based on a film with that name and that's entirely sensible. We'll get the figures, but comic versions and mixed in with unrelated characters, as we do now. I imagine the film's title will change shortly anyway, why incur the agro when you can make the same film featuring 'Task Force X' and just title it as something more commercial such as 'Arkham' or 'Gotham' etc
  21. Ha ha! I find it hilarious you could even think that's a possibility. Lego execs: 'Those affluent types on minimum wage can afford a bit more, they'll only blow the cash on Rolex watches otherwise...'
  22. Clearly this guy didn't check eBay and decided he'd rather pay double the going rate...
  23. Well, well that's something very special Why aren't all minifigs (especially Iron Men figures) coming with this sort of effort? I'm somewhat annoyed that the super cheap Chinese knock off figures come with more printing than the real figures!
  24. We shouldn't forget that we'll get another half dozen TFA sets in January, so if anything gets missed from wave 1 we only have a few months to wait
  25. Hurry up and get your Sith Infiltrator guys! I hear it won't be on the shelves long as Lego already has the next 5 versions of that craft all waiting to go. Care for another snowspeeder while you're at it?
