  1. Yularen is so obscure - I'm delighted! He'll go straight into my Death Star. Shame we don't get some leg printing etc, c'mon - figure is made in China, the printing machine was right there guys!
  2. Ha! You can't seriously believe Lego would release a church set! If you want to know why, I recommend more time spent reading about the 21st century!
  3. It's an odd little thing really. The lack of a new figure speaks volumes about the lack of care Lego put into this set - it has a sort of 'making up the numbers' feel. That said, there's a certain charm to it and if the price is right I can see myself buying it, a case of succeeding without intent I guess
  4. Can't say another Naboo fighter thrills me. I assume the Naboo fighter is a consistent massive seller (for some reason) as this is the 4th? 5th? release. After the UCS shuttle a system one can only be a step down. The death star duel must be where the new Vader mould crops up and the Palptine (released with the book) gets his set debut.
  5. Great set, really impressed. Odd that Lego didn't include stickers for the controls - can't think of a reason they wouldn't have. And why do only 3 of the 4 figures have leg printing? I just can't understand Lego at times
  6. Surely this figure features the most printing ever? Front, backs, legs (front and side) and arms! Delighted with this fantastic set, great to complete the prison escape gang
  7. Why do lego stiff us on the back printing? I just don't understand why a lego standard for decades now gets lost in these CMF waves. Penny pitching really annoys me.
  8. The producers didn't have the money? You are aware this was a CGI show?
  9. an interesting wave with a number of puzzling elements such as why the TIE pilot loses the printed legs the 2014 version had and why the droid carrier is £50 (twice the 2011 price! Seriously how can you absorb 500 bricks on such a set?) All the sets are worth a look but it's a shame there wasn't a bit more effort shown - the microfig sets provide nothing but generic figures and it's disappointing the senate commando captain doesn't have the more elaborate helmet seen in the show I think, in summary, every set is just one or two small changes from being awesome - and ironically being so close to greatness, and just falling short, just highlights what we aren't getting and overshadows how much we are getting
  10. Sure is taking a long time to host some pictures... Look for the 'upload' or 'insert' button, ask an adult if you get stuck.
  11. Why do so few figures have printed legs? I'm sick of lego's cost cutting. Lego, listen - you can't charge us these insane prices and cut corners, anywhere. You charge more than a ps4 game - you give us all the bells and whistles
  12. 8088 - no contest. Look at the awful nose on7259...
  13. Love the sets but the senate commando one would have really fit in with my collection. We're saying it's been 'cancelled' but if our 'source' is a catalogue (that features the set) am I missing somthing? Surely Lego would include a replacement set to the wave, I can't believe all their profit modelling just allows for a set to be chucked - the sets per wave surely isn't a random number...
  14. Happened to me. It's annoying in the extreme - but we'd all be hacked off if Customs missed something. I'm not sure how one gets around it, I've tended to avoid imports altogether
  15. No interior guys. Shame because - despite it's obvious quality, it's really just a larger version of the 2010 Slave 1. I'd have liked...just a little more...that would have made the inevitable purchase a bit easier
  16. A curious fusion of old style UCS and new minifig/play features style UCS... Looks fantastic - after the debacle with the SSD accuracy issues Lego has really worked to show they are 'professional' builders. The tumbler and the Slave 1 show a real design flair. Real kick in the guts though with the figure selection - couldn't we have got 4-Lom? Maybe a more detailed Bespin Guard? Lando? These bricks cost lego nothing - was an extra few figures even something they needed to think about?
  17. Arm printing - side leg printing...where is this stuff in every other theme?! How can it be 'cost effective' to do this level of printing in the CMF series but not even with UCS sets?! Time for lego to raise their game, we're not handing over magic beans for £100+ sets ya know...
  18. It's huge! Wasn't expecting that - have nowhere to store something thats bigger than an RC car! ...but it's sooo lovely. Very accurate, ingenious build and glorious on display. One of the increasing number of huge lego sets that inspires respect from non fans too After a few 'accuracy' issues with recent Star Wars UCS, it's good to see lego show that it had some real skill inhouse. I was starting to wonder if the AFOL community was actually better builders than the professionals!
  19. Smaug set box art is stunning, perhaps the best looking box art this year. Wasn't going to buy...but now...well done lego marketing!
  20. Yeah! Let's go back to those 'great' 1980's figures where we'd be lucky to get any printing at all! Take any figure from the Stars Wars wave in 1999 and put them next to a figure in 2014 - the difference in quality is staggering. Frankly, if I'm being asked to find £100 for a set (invariably the 3rd version of it) I want figures that are works of art - start giving me arm printing too and the side leg printing we get on the CMF. I refuse to believe the cost of really going all out is anything more than pennies for Lego.
  21. Looks fantastic - but - the front wheels are too big and too wide. Odd that it's the new parts that lego got wrong!!
  22. The new movie TMNT figures look mighty weird 'in the flesh' - the different arrangement with the shell makes them look almost scrawny...
  23. It's available early for VIP members, I understand. How does that work in relation to lego stores, will it be available or is this a website only sale?
  24. *Inserts the obligatory 'I'm typing just to tell the world I'm not buying because of the cost' post that encompasses 90% of all comments here* With that out of the way, Love it, will get it for sure. Great figures, nice play features and some interesting construction techniques. It's not very 'star wars-y' though, it doesn't look like wookie tech. That's not a criticism, as it's a nice design, it's just an unexpected design direction
  25. Holy hell that's awesome! Thank you lego! Jaw dropping - and then you realise it has a Ledger Joker figure too! Take my money now, I don't care how much you want from me! One gripe - no leg printing on Batman!
