  1. I have to chuckle at those prices. Each one is atleast 30% up on the cost of similar sized SW sets 3-4 years ago - is Eurozone inflation consistently above 5%? What kid would pay so much for a toy when xbox and ps3 games are so much cheaper? Oh well.
  2. Need more minifigs - about a thousand should do it, I managed 500 but then ran out of room for the display anyway!
  3. Good minifigs and some great new parts - but pretty weak sets. Think some people are a bit OTT in their praise of some sets...
  4. It's incredible people on a star wars Lego forum have not seen the star wars films... You mean Luke Skywalker was in Star Wars?!? Since when?!
  5. Hmm, might get it Looks a bit 'midi' to me - in terms of detailing. The UCS ISD was this vast detailed beast, this seems to lack that wow factor
  6. Where did this come from? Never heard of any rumours Not very detailed for UCS, looks more like the system ISD... Stick a few tiles over a triangle frame and charge several hundred... Was even one new fig so much to ask?
  7. It's reasonably accurate, very sturdy (unlike that ISD!), full of features and had 2 brand new figs If we judge it by what it is rather than the meter long monstrosity we had hoped for - well, it's a superb set We all wanted a venator with an interior and maybe in the future we'll get it, an SSD is a virtual guarantee even if we dont
  8. Probably wouldn't sell? Yeah, because kids hate guns and tanks, sheesh - the nonsense some of you write. A 'military theme' would do amazingly well. You want a storyline and to keep it 'family friendly' - have them fight robots then Lego avoids it not because it wouldn't sell but because they worry it's not 'lego', family friendly and innocent ...of course this is the same company that made a Death Star set complete with planet killing laser!
  9. That must represent thousands in bricklink costs!
  10. QAR scores a zero for accuracy - but as an addition to my pirate fleet it's a winner. Looks great!
  11. I love it, fantastic work with the hull shape
  12. That droideka is horrid! I'll stick with my '07 versions!
  13. The falcon's interior is dissapointing, but - it's bigger and far easier to mod. The last system model had quite a cluttered interior with the elements maintaining the circular frame really getting in the way. Looking forward to this set and despite this clearly not being the best summer wave, I plan to get all of the sets
  14. Lego is happy to produce zillions of new moulds and sell them for £2...but when it's an actual set that suddenly changes!
  15. Yoda's hut? No way - done once already and it's hardly a 'must have set'
  16. Why do people buy the magnet sets them attempt to separate the magnet damaging the figure as they do it... ...why are people so determined not to use bricklink? It's hardly as if the minifigs with magnet sets are that expensive on bricklink... Damaged chinese plastic minifig + 2 other figs you don't want or bricklink the figure for a few dollars. Hmmm.
  17. I tip my hat to you sir, impressive pwnage Anyway, that jetcopter isn't quite what I'd hoped from the early pictures, but it's still very much on my shopping radar...
  18. Ohh us Europeans have a set the US doesn't, nice How come there just arent meaningful LEGO sales in the UK? This place and brickset are full of mentions of US discounts...
  19. The nightspeeder and genosis starfighter look pretty crap - but can I be bothered to bricklink the figures? May have to buy the sets and sell the craft No interior for the falcon...well, no detailed interior. Gonna need to wait for the pros to redesign theirs , then I'll copy those!
  20. People do love 10 bricks combined to look like a star wars vehicle and lacking any sort of function what so ever...
  21. The frigate's figures are great - but it's difficult to accept anything but this is just the red republic cruiser again. The last one had no interior..I imagine Yoda's inclusion is not unrelated to the lack of internal space it will have! All told sets are good but this is the year of the minifig, maybe Lego is relying on the minifigs compensating...
  22. That truck is amazing - perhaps a bit kiddie, maybe needs modding - but it's a superb APC design. Think it's the set I'm most looking forward to this year That giant mothership is daft - huge but empty, takes up a lot of space for something that's basically just a cockpit
  23. Wolfpack, awesome! That said, they don't look much like their 'real life' versions!
  24. Oh not this 'debate' again Boo hoo, the characters have big eyes. Let's go back to the days when you could only tell a character was obi wan by the instructions... Let's keep this on the 2011 sets and not just complain that every set isn't an x wing...
  25. The QAR easily fits in with classic pirates, same style and classic '4 gun' arrangement. Would have loved it to have had more guns, it's a bit too similar to what we've had before
