LEGO Exclusive 10221 - Super Star Destroyer
TheBrickHitHouse replied to Bonaparte's topic in LEGO Star Wars
So when we dont like the sizes given to us in official publications we just make up figures ourselves? Ohh the executor is 17km! Okay, if we're going to be stupid about this I now proclaim the Death Star is the size of a tennis ball. From now on anyone that disagrees is somehow wrong, including Lucasfilm. I have spoken! ...wait, do I need some saggy MOC before I can make stuff up? -
This set poses so many questions - why remake this set so soon? Why make no changes? Why is the destroyer droid so bad (they got it right with Grievous) and why the daft price? This is the only set this year that I'll be certain to avoid

Nah, 19,000 is right - the star wars databank and wookiepedia are clear on that http://www.starwars.com/databank/starship/superstardestroyer/ -

It's spelt wrong plus the stats are wrong - actually has 10 times the armament! -

It's the only thing Lego had made at this scale! The Executor is 19,000 meters long, I dread to think what the scaling is 1:10,000 -
Exactly I'll end up buying it anyway because it's still the only black pearl where getting. It will then sit on a shelf unnoticed because it's such a ghastly design I'd have happily made more for a quality set
-
Damn - that's just awful. That looks like a clone-Lego brand QAR was a 'cash in' set and really quite lazy - but this is worse. Bet is £100 too I'm no MOC-genius but I could have made a better set...

So, 600 bricks more than the imperial shuttle but £100 more? It's less bricks than the death star but costs much more... Hmm - anyone else noticed the stats on the sticker are wrong? 250 turbolasers? Perhaps in the 1998 technical guide! I shouldn't, but I think I will be buying this set. I always wanted the ISD, this is close enough Shame about the flat bottom, but in truth u would have to have it displayed a certain way to notice and it's not as if the real thing had that much curvature. All told, no point complaining about the bottom when 2 ghastly black pylons are welded in there! -
LEGO Star Wars 2012 No more spoilers!
TheBrickHitHouse replied to Bobskink's topic in LEGO Star Wars
With some sets we've known all about them up to 8-10 months early - some new sets feel like old sets at release! We're already wondering about the Executor and 2012 when the summer 2011 sets are owned by a mere handful! However, u can't just talk about old sets - half the fun is the stream of new info -
Set looks great - a massive improvement. Interior is so free of clutter it will be easy to mod too
-
How do u obtain so many bricks?! Bricklink costs a fortune - 10,000 bricks must cost, well - thousand dollars? Atleast that much. Finding sellers with the sheer number of bricks needed is tough Time too - must take months to obtain parts and months more to build - I assume ur dragged from the lab a few times a week for a pesky employment of sorts? Anyway, amazing and intimidating stuff
-
3,200 bricks - thought it would be bigger, though having said that it's largely tiled bricks anyway and so probably doesn't need much more to be done right I usually have no interest in 'true' UCS sets but something about the executor just had me interested, quite like the internal feature. I certainly won't waste my time if it's not a faithful depictions of the set, I'm eager to see some more puctures. £370 quid is a lot especially as the death star (a vastly better set) is so much cheaper

So, does the landing gear on the falcon retract?
-
Falcon is such an important craft it's baffling it's the first system one in 7 years. Think people deserve the chance to get a Falcon - even though I own 2 I'm never going to complain about set redesigns....more we get the better chance we'll get the set done right! About time for a better AT-TE, a tan AAT, gungan sub and sandcrawler!
-
New falcon surely has to be considered the best system one yet, lots of nice touches especially the landing gear. That said what is up with the mandibles?!

[REVIEW] 7959 Geonosian Starfighter
TheBrickHitHouse replied to Blackknight112's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Ki-Adi looks horrid, I've waited years for him - damn u Lego! -
Hmm, part of me likes it, the other part things it's missing a snowspeeder. Ah well, got one kicking around anyway
-
An interior...can't help but assume this affects the accuracy of the set, must be a flat bottom. Hmph!
-
Great set - but deceptively small
-
No reviews for the mothership - guess we know the dud in this line Takes up so much space for absolutely nothing worth displaying!
-
I'll just bricklink the figure - will def be cheaper than $75...
-
Great set! Looks much better as one vehicle than cab+trailer combo Love the removable alien brain, oh Lego you mischievous bunch! I wouldn't describe the wave itself as awesome - but this set certainly is. Wave 2 should see the good stuff.
-
A certain person in this thread needs to calm down Some people take stuff way to seriously - buying sets because of the way Lego classified them? Us adults buy sets we like the look of - I quite like the Executor, if it's got an interior (which it doesn't) then so much the better

2011 LEGO Architecture News & Rumours
TheBrickHitHouse replied to GRogall's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I actually laugh at anyone daft enough to buy this. Does Lego even care about this line? -
Mini models - bah! Could just build the pointless things with bricks lying around... It will be nice Chinese plastic minifigs too - and what an odd assortment! Lego have done better and cheaper calendars than this
