  1. Here's one. Google lego technic half track. i think it's on brickshelf. H
  2. 4: 1 6: 1 9: 1 16: 1 18: 2 23: 2 29: 2 Great entries, it's not been an easy decision. H
  3. Good idea. Today was a perfect day to run my car in the back yard, it's been sunny and dry but the car is in bits awaiting a rebuild with the AAA battery box. Put the idea out to the rest of the forum and Jim. H
  4. That's a good complex model. If the body work was all one colour, yellow or red, it would look much much better and i'm sure you can solve the headlights by using some round flat plates or the clear single stud lights. Gaps in technic models are allowed, in fact I think it's compulsory. I love the multicoloured internals and the front and rear opening trunks, you've also given us a gearbox (something i'm yet to do) and some very good photo's. There are a hell of a lot of positives on this model. H
  5. if it's doable I look forward to seeing a final working version. I used the wrong word earlier, I should have said "challenging". H
  6. For me it helps to take my mind off other things and keeps me on the straight and narrow. I work in public sector so it takes my mind off public sector drivel and being overlooked for promotion whilst the dept implodes. My lego links to another interest of mine. Sometimes just ten minutes of building before I go to bed at night and I can come up with something good which I continue with the next day. I have no plans to stop. H
  7. That's a nice model man. I like your steering. H
  8. Correct. I crashed it a couple of times knocking the steering out of alignment, then realised It needed some protection so fitted the small wheel. It's crude but effective. H They are in your local lego store. if you can't find any ask the staff. I had a look and did not see any and thought "damn", so I asked and the guy went and had a look and came back with a box full. H I want to try and fit my little camera to it for video. H The servo is great. I can highly recommend one. H On the weight issue, the AA box is heavy but the car handles is very well. I think it's how you mount it. On the first build the battery box was at the back and it did not like it. Then it was on top but I did not like the look of it so on this version I built it around the battery box and i'm surprised by it's performance so far given the weight of the box. It's getting good traction. H
  9. Hi, Thanks. Actually it can do small wheelies and I managed to get an AAA battery box with my birthday money. I will make some modifications this week with wheelies in mind. Maybe if I move the battery box back a bit. It's all part of adapting to studless and the new techniques. H
  10. Hi, I just wanted to share this with you all. I made it quickly just to test my servo and building techniques. It's a second prototype. The first build was very heavy, longer and was crunching the gears. This is shorter, nimble and fun to drive. I'll just post one image. See more in my brickshelf. http://www.brickshel...ry.cgi?f=536989 I've had a lot of fun running it around the house. H
  11. Should have good ground clearance with those tyres. H
  12. For me the Batman tumbler is a must. There are many versions out there using town lego and technic, they are truly brilliant looking. I built the front steering as a practice. I hope to make a full model. The Delta wing car is a great idea. A car with the features of the james bond car, ejector seat, changing license plate etc and much more. I love that Citreon. H
  13. Congratulations Jim. What are the perks of the job? H
  14. I like any idea that gives me a chance to create. The post apocalyptic theme has always been my thing in the past. Sci fi also appeals. I like the clock idea too. H
  15. That looks good. Will it recycle the marbles? H
  16. The fourth connector down no longer exists but I wish it did. I've seen it somewhere before. H
  17. Looks like it needs a re-think. Remember, there are other ways to mount your motors. H
  18. 8258 is a great looking truck. Given it's high rating amongst our fellow forum members and lego builders/collectors around the world, it would in my opinion, have made sense to continue that look. I like the new wheels, and I actually like the idea of a skip truck, I'm just not a big fan of the execution considering previous trucks. Jim, I love the review and the pictures by the way Thanks H Yes. Another one that got away. H
  19. Good reviews. I agree with my fellow forum members, this is a good starter set. PS: note to lego, return of technic minifigs and the story themed sets. H
  20. For a truck I don't think you can beat 8258 and 8109 for looks and functions (note: I own neither of these sets). This looks simple, there is less detail hence less parts. We could have a had a skip truck based on 8109 or 8258 which, in my opinion, would be much better. Still, it's lego. H
