  1. Good one. It uses an M looking motor and I would bet the rotors are not lego but real rotors off a RC helicopter or something. In my opinion there are some modifications to the motor, rotors and maybe the battery pack. H
  2. Very clever. I like it and it's pure lego. Excellent! H
  3. Gee, Maybe vehicles are not for you. Try your hand at something else like a gum ball machine, maybe a plane or helicopter or something sci fi. Learning can be frustrating expecially when something does not work the first time but you need to keep at it. I know all about frustration. I could write a book about it. Work on steering first, then drive and you can forget suspension for now. once you've mastered steering and drive, put the two together and see how you get on. Take it step by step, use the web for images etc, google "lego technic steering" and see what images come up. Practice practice practice. Oh, and let us know how you get on. H
  4. I wonder if new designers are having a go. H
  5. Looks good. I look forward to the finished model. H
  6. The red rectangular panels had disappeared also. I hope they become available, with blue, yellow, green and orange. H
  7. Hi, if like me you buy parts from lego customer service you'll be interested to know they are extending the range available via their website on 15th January. This was the "I want to buy a piece" section where you would input the set number and all it's pieces would be available to buy. https://service.lego.com/en-gb/replacementparts#IssueType H
  8. I remember this set when it came out but could not afford it ( I could not afford anything back then). However, I do have the pneumatics and the two buckets from it but can't remember how I got them. I think I might have bought them from lego years later. Thanks for the review and the great pictures. H
  9. Thanks Jim. H At the moment I'm working to build a Baja/trophy truck chassis which will take me into Jan and Feb 2014. It's a real test. H
  10. I wonder if Jim could help us come back to this topic halfway through the year as a reminder. H
  11. The above is an important one. A short wheelbase, mounting the motor and battery pack and your wheel selection. I've made my first RC car recently, it's very simple but it took a while to get it right. it was just built wrong. It was too long, the battery pack was in the wrong place and my motor was not mounted correctly. Re- built it and i'm having so much fun with it I don't want to take it apart. H
  12. It's scares me sometimes the scale of models you guys take on. This will be impressive. H
  13. Model team never appealed to me at the time but I can see now why people like them. The model team style is making a bit of a comeback via this forum and it's good to see. I like your crane truck. H
  14. Great trucks. I ilke the work you've done on the underside and the barrell is very clever. H
  15. This is an interesting topic. With the rotors folded back the helicopter can be easily transported on an open trailer or inside a container truck. H
  16. I look forward to your ideas. Infact, I look forward to all the ideas here. H We have a lot to look forward to. Planes, trucks, gum ball machines, cars, loaders, cranes, bikes, the list goes on. I hope we all can make some time to build and continue presenting here. H
  17. I like the responses so far. I should add I'd like to be able to enter one of the competitions on here during 2014. H
  18. Hi People, Have you achieved all things Lego this year (2013) that you set out to achieve and what are your Moc plans, if any, for 2014. For me I achieved my first studless moc, the skid/wheeled loader, and then the RC test car (which looks much better now) that is sat next to me at the moment. I'm getting to grips with the studless building and learning the new parts, i've not fully achived everything I wanted to but i'm heading in the right direction. My plans for 2014 are to do bigger and better. http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=536098 http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=536989 H
  19. bbqqq, I won't be attempting to build your idea as I'm currently working on something else at the moment. But I would like to see a working version. H DrJB, I, and i'm sure the other's, agree with you. A good design (though I know nothing about rotors) and well presented. H
  20. Now you mention it, I do. I like your new front. Why not double up the rear wheels and make another skip to fit inside the existing one. I've seen skip trucks with two skips on before, then show us a video of it in action. Also, could you add pneumatic out riggers. Please. H
  21. What I meant was that mindstorms, with it's sensors and programming it should have the ability to do what Mbmc is trying to achieve. Which is the ability to control many functions, or allow some automation, with minimal human input. I hope that makes sense. I am however a believer in pushing the boundries and making the most of what we've got. H
  22. I've never ever built rotors but something like this will always need to be strong. Strengthen those rotors and you are well on your way. I would have to build and test your design to see how well it works. H
  23. Your drive train is inspiring. Good build and good video. H
  24. I thought the idea of this was to switch power on and off to each function/motor. For mass control you would need mindstorms. H
  25. Great build. Reminds me of the American Stryker Armoured vehicle. I love the studded covering, you've put it all together very well and I would love the see some picture of the chassis. Good video too. H
