  1. Yeah, LEGO is usually both flat (or worse, round!) and pretty shiny which is good for glare/reflections. You can avoid a lot of it by diffusing your light. You can buy some purpose built diffusers, or you can get one of those pop-up light boxes (or make your own)--the lights go on the outside and the fabric sides diffuse their photons/waves, or you can tape some klennex over your lamps*. Using indirect daylight from the window during midday also helps. There are a couple good photography tutorials floating around here somewhere that can help you out a lot more than I can. I really like this build by the way! *Don't burn your house down....
  2. Wow, all the modules look great together! The only thing I've got for you is to block up the back of the buildings, light is leaking/flooding through in a couple of pictures.
  3. Completely beautiful LittleJohn.
  4. I feel like "more fog" for your MOCs is sort of like "more cowbell". I got a fever.... Cleaning & sorting this week, cleaning & sorting.
  5. The dragon is awesome, emerging from the murk, and I love the idea and execution of the dwarven buildings in this MOC.
  6. Great play features here, and you've put us to school with the landscaping SK. Rock solid build!
  7. I saw this over on ye olde Flickr a couple days ago and it was epic; I'm happy to report it still is! I particularly like the cross section view of the earth you've given us and the incredible integration of the stream.
  8. Crazy cool (hot?) MOC! My mind is a little bit blown about the not-flat base.
  9. Dark red on the roof looks great, as does the hint of Gothic architecture. But no interior???
  10. Great little castle LJ! I really like the incorporation of the white sections, though I will agree with Henjin Quilones about the larger white dome. Nice work
  11. Amazing work guys. What's really impressive to me is that each component (as we've seen over the past month or so with your presentations) stands completely on it's own as a solid build.... and then you went and locked them altogether for this beast. I'm inspired.
  12. Epic work (again!) Ecc! I really like the dark red used here, nice pop of color that isn't too loud.
  13. Looks like S@H is already out of stock based on my lego.com ordering experience last night. :(
  14. Love the shaping on the head and the torso section Josh.
  15. The height here is really awesome and reflects the mountainous Mitgardian terrain perfectly, plus the rockwork is amazing. Color choices of the structure are unconventional with the tan for the framing instead of darker colors, but it works really well. Great work Gabe!
  16. Yes. Here's a link to the wiki search results. I think there might be a forum thread here too from probably years ago, I almost remember a contest/task from Book I?
  17. I saw this on Flickr already, but it makes me smile just as much over here on Eurobricks! Those ovens are fantastic by the way.
  18. Another great MOC from Gunman, sweet! The circular gate is epic. As for CC, snow on the ground means snow on the roof!
  19. Gee-wiz, those two round towers are amazing! I'm surprised that the wall textures of that round tower technique blend so well with the straight walls, usually the 1x1 rounds look a bit strange but you avoided that completely here--and then you topped everything with some great wooden sections.
  20. Great technique with the clips! It would probably work really well in other colors for alien planets over in AG too
  21. The crumbing/ruined look you've captured here is fantastic. I wasn't sold on the dark bley when this hit Flickr, but it's grown on me since then. Great work LittleJohn!
  22. Using those pieces horizontally is a great idea; here it makes for a very solid feeling wall and I bet they could make a great log cabin as well.
  23. Here's proof that Mitgardian merchants invented and began marketing the phenomenon of frozen chicken "parts". You're welcome Historica. (Full credit to the excellent Kaliphinite scientists at the University for developing the rapid defroster/cooker they're calling the "solarwave".)
  24. I'll echo the comments about the textural choices here, but I'll add that I think it may have played even better by sinking the tiles in the middle by a plate and using some studs to create a transition from the fence to the sloppy, wet, mud hole. Great MOC Milo!
  25. Nice work on stage 1; though I do agree that the dock seems a little out of place. I can't wait for the next one!
