  1. Just happened to receive another package from CaDA R&D. This alternative design is being produced according to my proposal: It´s not hard to spot some differences compared to the known standard elements when it comes to elasticity and attachment points. Not sure they have been implemented in some of the recent sets though. If somebody can spot them, please share a picture. At least they will come in a new hypercar of mine this summer (most likely not black!).
  2. The picture does not include the 7L perpendicular beam which I found is the most useful. Then I discovered this part in the mentioned white „BMW“ set – it´s quite nice to have it in order to go the narrow path if needed: The sometimes too slippery white Lego clutches can get annoying. These ones are on the other extreme end. Nice alternative too, although some of them seem almost impossible to move.
  3. @Milan: thank you for doing that . It´s obvious that this is a good way to discuss things which enhance our building experience by using the broadest palette of parts in a comfortable way. Freedom of choice and opinions for everybody! Please post a small link for the parts pack. I didn´t feel it was the case, but I endorse to put it the right way. There are many more interesting sets and parts to be discussed for sure!
  4. I don´t know what you mean . 1. It´s not a Ferrari. 2. Everybody calls it illegal and buys it anyway. 3. The yellow gear rack you´ve shown above isn´t to serve in the ultimate MOD I suppose, so that will be fine .
  5. No, you always shall keep it 100! This is illegal! Be purist and don´t ever dare to violate or bend the holy Lego pieces .
  6. The old high friction pins aren´t being produced anymore. I don´t know of any third party product as well. That´s sad, for exactly the reasons you are describing. They have one big disadvantage - smaller kids are not able to pull them out easily. Luckily you can look up in BL which sets include them and I suggest you just buy one of them, used and better incomplete - that could be your perfect bargain.
  7. I´m not sure I understand your issue correctly. The indefinite number of motors are supposed to be connected and equalize the small differences either way & distributing the resistance. Output torque combined onto 1 axle no matter which one. In general you want to reduce the number of gears to the minimum to eliminate friction and use all the power. EDIT: on your first picture you have a gear rediction of 5/3 and on the second it´s plain 1:1, so that is the main difference there and as far as I understood that was not the question.
  8. The more gears involved, the higher the friction. I´d suggest the following solution which works quite well:
  9. That looks like a promising start! I like the usage of the many fence pieces in the front grill, although I doubt that should be the final height of the nose. The door indeed looks fantastic and smooth as it should. Thanks for sharing, hopefully the community will give you the drive to go for it . Definitely not, since only one half of the Chiron body consists of this color. So you´d rather need 2 or 3 at least, still being limited in the parts range. I have failed / skipped on this colour to be honest.
  10. Very impressive, my friend ! How are you going to clean all the dust and chase the spiders out one time - I mean you can´t just go with the vacuum cleaner over it ...
  11. Your car is recognizeable and deserves respect due to the amount of time and work went into it. The result is somewhat disappointing though to be honest, especially when I hear gears klicking. As a non-American car guy I despise the engine sticking out. If it´s on purpose - let it be, I can accept that. But not due to lack of space. Anyway - you don´t need to apologize for anything, enjoy it .
  12. I was joking a bit, knowing exactly what you mean - you should have put it more precisely . It has much functionality made visible under the big clamshells which open in a spectacular way. E.g. the nice sophisticated door mechanism has been elaborated long time ago by some of the MOCers like @Pvdb. And IMO there are fewer chances to mess up the looks because of the easier bodywork shapes lacking thin lines and curves typical to a Ferrari. So I totally agree with you in principal. Would clearly prefer to see a Koenigsegg too.
  13. I found the Daytona SP3 looks even more terrible from behind .. Usually it´s the other way around when being attracted by the beauties ..
  14. Actually not, it has been busted. So I´ll be waiting for the Ferrari SUV and modify this way to attach some character to it .
  15. Intersting, why that? Apart from the fact that a Technic chassis can deliver a ton of functions which are only depending on the fantasy and creativity of the builder, I agree the car model itself should have a kind of "soul", not literally of course. But I´ve never heard that a Ghost constitutes an additional innovative function itself .
  16. I like it a lot and I also like to read painfull descriptions (sometimes) ! Not because of the boring color scheme and the atrocious blue dots sticking out everywhere. But one can see the level of skills put into this proper build. No matter it has tons of functions, it ultimately pales next to the Aston IMO . But the philosophy of doing dirty work first and having fun taking a ride after work totally makes sense ! By the way - which was easier to design?
  17. It has more capabilites (amps) and higher overheating threshholds as far as I understand. At least you can be safe more likely not having them going up in flames if handled incorrectly as shown in the depiction. Stay tuned about the new CONTROLLER, updates coming soon!
  18. Thank you for sharing your experience which I´ve had a lot of fun to read . I´m happy that you are happy. The phenomena with these battery boxes are weird and you are not the only one experiencing it. As you said, CaDA customer service is very polite and does everything to keep you happy. Regarding battery boxes in general here come some powerfull good news, along with the (very powerfull!) new buggy motors: I´m challenging everybody for the ULTIMATE MOD on my MOC by using these new devices!
  19. One can only hope so - Lego designers thinking out of the usual box and bring us something really interesting. Most likely that´s not gonna happen - unfortunately they are just locked in their tradition, fear the unexpected. Let them prove otherwise and once justify the price tag. The LaFerrari had an electric engine as small helper which I found OK and kind of rational concept wise (nothing is rational in this car though). The new Hypercar League uses "castrated" small engines with some lousy 500 HP - sorry - this has nothing to do with a hypercar concept per definition or striving for the ultimate performance. Instead an additional lousy electric concept is forced upon it for whatever reason, that doesn´t make a lot of sense to me and just reflects the "green" actionism of a weird extiction rebellion philosophy. I oppose that compulsion. Different thing when it comes to a Lego creation - here it´s the more interesting for me to experiment with different motors, setups and combinations. As you said "front wheels driven by a couple motors" sounds so easy, which is absolutely not and one of my biggest challenges so far.
  20. I mean for me the LaFerrari is the peak of automotive engineering & design and nothing will ever beat that, just my opinion - nobody should agree on that . For others it´s the Lamborghini Countach or Ferrari F40 or older nostalgia. This new electric stuff isn´t nearly as exciting as cars were (I´m not talking about electric toys built of plastic bricks). My prediction: the hypercar league will be a flop because a lot of men like me prefer to watch F1 or DTM series and hear the loud sound of a sophisticated combustion engine. Period. The good thing is - the rest of my life is too short to cover all cars from the good old times which I want to "save" .
  21. Nice job, thank you for sharing !
  22. Is this LM hypercar on the picture even real? Maybe we will get this instead: I don´t like any of them, there comes nothing after the LaFerrari, and fear the disappointment will be huge since now the expectations are rocketing beyond reason. Then again I´m wondering where all the 3700+ parts will be going, the racecar itself is supposed to be kinda reductionist spartan lightweight. So we have to expect a lot of system parts again, which doesn´t do a favor to a Technic car IMO.
  23. Although I consider you as a newbie / rookie, I have big respect for your handling of the situation the mature way. Let it be a motivation to improve on your next build. Move on with this courage and you will beat all odds in the longterm showing who is really in charge !
  24. I never had the ambition to be the judge here. Simply wanted to restore peace among the parties because some of them behave like in puberty. Nobody from the higher ranks & moderators say anything, that´s poor. Keep it all clean and send us into intellectual Gulag. Then shut it all down because the party is going on somewhere else.
