  1. The prices in the official CaDA store are not too bad. 14,99 USD for the micromotor gets you worldwide express shipping, no additional shipping costs if you buy more than one. Be catious with the wire. You´ll not be able to run them on the newer devices with new hubs. On the other hand, they are not very expensive all together, it´s not Lego.
  2. In a tremendous effort in order to differentiate and distance themselves from the companions, the Doubleeagle company wasn´t shy to invest bazillions into new molding, shapes and parts. After renewed frames, wire connectors, batteries, gear shifters and many more we will keep seeing the trend developing, whether we like it or sometimes not(!). Here is a recent example we have to debate about its pros and cons: I must admit I like the curved shapes if it suits a particular car design! On the other hand I have my reservations about sections you would need straight lines for..
  3. This is an incredibly creative awesome job, hats off ! I see it as a fun fact: there are several obvious reasons why CaDA cannot feature this in their military portfolio . Shortly on a side note: 10y ago my 4y old son asked he´d like to watch me playing another round of COD. I said no and from then refrained from playing war games and building tanks and helicopters.. EDIT: @eric trax they forgot to give you the PRO TAG!
  4. Nice F40 ! So we are having one more iteration to compare and I think it´s one of the better examples because built in perfect proportional scale. The economical style looks complete and finished, everything kept very "technical" - I like that. Although there are some bigger unfavourable gaps near the wheelarches. The white plates are "flashing" very bright, but I like how creative the sleeping eyes are constructed .
  5. Sorry I didn´t mention your actual athletic performance regarding reverse engineering and sharing all your valuable work done with much love and passion. That´s very honorable too ! You don´t need to feel uncomfortably for anything, my friend.
  6. That equals guaranteed success on AliExpress too, which will "pay off" a greedy pirate company or even multiple of them - it´s a "free" design after all. But I know it´s happening with the consent of the designer @langko, so he deserves double honour !
  7. Just a friendly reminder to everybody: this topic was started by the OP to present and discuss his glorious Lego MOC Ferrari LaFerrari! It´s neither a CaDA topic, nor a suggestion box for anything else. Please respect the forum guidelines, it´s not that hard IMO. Also I would like to see here many more custom versions of the car from people according to their individual preferences! I can remember having seen a lineup somewhere in a club gathering, including a white version as well as a black one with red stripes like on the Aperta. @T Lego : I would like to build this mostly of Lego parts for my collection! Where can I get custom rims (matt silver) for this beauty, matching the original wheels? Sorry if I missed that information. Thank you!
  8. It all depends on the gear reduction and the actual application. I wouldn´t say it´s too slow for actuators - you can swap gears the other way round too. You are so lucky you have no need for speed .. I´m struggling with 2x buggy motors which can´t move my 3kg car prototype properly (AWD), because I have the duty to beat some records and always invent an unseed drivetrain, nothing less will ever satisfy me ...
  9. How much is that "token" worth in hard currency ? Are they looking for innocent dumbheads in the fanbase to exploit, in order to produce an advertising campain glorifying the Lego brand? A billion dollar company running out of ideas? Is that still their understanding how "social media" works nowadays? Questions over questions... IMHO it´s nothing more than a cheap marketing move, same thing with their "Ideas" program.
  10. Neither nor. It depends what kind of product & specific model it is - whether RC, bricked, Technic and different scale. You can sell the 8-wide bricked licence for Speed Chamipions to TLG, the 1/14 RC license to Rastar and the 1/8 diecast license to Amalgam for the same vehicle. Or sell one license to multiple different companies if all parties agree on certain conditions, willing to compete without exclusivity. Brands like Ferrari or Lego in general might not agree on some conditions valid for the rest of the mortal world. Why? Because they can, being the most powerful brands in the world. I estimate half the money on their price stickers is just brand value = license costs. Some of their premium producst are totally neglecting consumer behaviour, supply-and-demand-situation or whatever. It all depends on each specific product, the conditions are variable.
  11. Thanks for sharing your build! Overall it seems a nice solid build and one can see how you really love that iconic car, trying to do it justice with many details. Considering it´s a B-model, I don´t mind some areas could not be replicated the best way, it´s an achievement anyway. I don´t like the too thick front bumper, also it´s too squarish / missing angles, same for the rear bumper. Putting it next to the pictures of the real car is risky and inavoidable leads to certain comparisons and conclusions. My major critique point is that you are presenting us nothing more than a digital model here. Sorry for this kind of sarcasm, but I can´t say it otherwise: Are you selling instructions to buy you the real deal for 450 bucks one day ? I´d recommend to do it the other way round and posting instruction links in the second post or edit .
  12. Why would you wanna doubt it? I think it´s obvious, after all we´re not dealing here with scum like Mould King and consorts. Yet you will have to wait until summer after production launch, until final release, when all the approvals will be valid. Licenses cost money and are granted for certain periods, for you understanding.
  13. Thanks for sharing your work! Now I´m sorry for the following, if it hurts a little bit. You asked for critics, so I hope you don´t mind. It´s a Ferrari after all which never leaves you indifferent and yeah, I can see a Ferrari here because of the red color and the stickers, but that´s it. I can´t recognize an actual Purosangue, maybe it looks more like a modern version of the FF. Consider this being an SUV / allroad / crossover or whatever you like to call it. Means it needs way more ground clearance. The wheelbase seems too long which enhances the unwanted „limo stretch“ appearance. The roof looks most disturbing to me, it should be more rounded and not flat like this, sloping towardst the rear. I like the front and rear view – you have modeled them pretty nicely IMO. Though I think the studded plates in the grille should rather face in the same direction. Some extra points should go to the B-model aspect as well.
  14. You are right about the panels! @efferman has found additional use for the spared 11x5 frames too - e.g. you can lock gears inside a rack and prevent them sliding out or mix the halfs of a 11x5 with a 7x5 frame for whatever special purpose. Actually there are 2x batteriy boxes (!) controlled by an app. I didn´t know about this development and I´m curious about the capabilities and new possibilities.
  15. That´s really a pity, I´m speaking for myself here because I as collector need "original" wheels and no discussions. Considering - how expensive a DIY version can be for an individual - recently I have spent around 300+ bucks for 2x sets of custom wheels in these dimensions on shapeways, the preliminary CAD works not included - these are exhausted wheels used on several older sets already - other models like the AMG get multiple new molds produced (exclusive parts which don´t fit any other set!) - your blue Centenario got a set of extra wheels which can be purchased separately - the Viva hypercar has big potential to serve as flagship for a sufficient period We should fight this to the end and let them make a set of alternative wheels available in the spare parts.
  16. This is most likely a typo. It´s funny indeed, scrolling further down where the other attributes are being "described" by the translator robot. How about "large area intake grille" or my favourite "lightweight rearview mirror"? Seriousy - their marketing department doesn´t consist of an army of snobbish overpaid brainstormers. I think one can easily overlook such little inconsistencies, considering you´re getting the set for half the price of the boring Daytona . And it doesn´t belittle the great technical achievements in this model by the master builder Thijs de Boer. Just look at the modularity, the love for so many details - the Daytona is absolutely no match to it.
  17. The spare parts section in the online store has been restored. I´ve suggested to include more parts, such as 13x3 and smaller 9x3 bowed panels, once there´ll be enough in stock. Thijs´ LaFerrari inspired "Viva Hypercar" is available too - grab your hands on it asap before the first batch gets sold out!
  18. There is no need for it to be featured on rebrickable which is a Lego dedicated platform. You just can buy it soon from the stores. Cannot tell you when though! You don´t need it ! Thanks! I hope you won´t be disappointed about the hardcore LBG/black piles to go through and again - many booklets to unfold... You look right - it´s LBG! I have thought of you several times after the color was established. Unfortunately it couldn´t become my favourite color - a glossy silver or chrome shining bodywork. I´m sorry, you can´t buy it yet, no dates available to date :-/. Greetings to your wife - that´s very nice and honorable :-)!
  19. Thanks! I hope it will live up to your expectations. More infos about the "Project" coming soon. I hope you like it! It´s not exactly DBG, but LBG which might have a little darker intonation than the Lego color, IDK. We are filling some niche there, I suppose Yes! It comes in 2 separate pieces. Fun fact: the versatile rotor blades I´ve had designed for that purpose, are being used in a bunch of other models ;-). The wheels & arches have been made after my drawings which I´m really proud of as well. We will meet in Nürnberg, God willing
  20. Awesome job, your work finally pays off ! I love it because of the complete package of functionality and level of details inside and outside ! And happy I could contribute few bits to the polishing. Can´t wait to build it and put a black custom Aperta version next to it !
  21. Clever design made in shortest time ! The center of gravity sits perfectly low, so the truck doesn´t tip in corners at this insane speed, very impressive! From an aesthetic aspect it looks pretty neat as well. The front bumpers cautiosly prevent serious damage to the front axle. And no need for an expensive 12V BuWizz in this case .
  22. Are you kidding me ? Considering you are used to fighting with the lack of space, usually building much smaller, yet very functional models, come on, my friend! As I see, there is vast room above the XL motor, between seats and engine, which you could easily use, not least you have upgraded to the right amount of cylinders btw. Is that where you have put your battery? Which kind are power source & controls? Do youreself a favour and be open to any critique! Please don´t be shy, don´t hide anything - I see big talent in you, you shouldn´t waste it! There is always the next „perfect“ project for which you can learn. You will learn quickly where the right pockets are where you can fit in all the devices naturally, at least I see no big secrets here.
  23. Thank you for sharing your work with us ! First of all – congratulations for having the courage to take on the literally BIG challenge! As you have realized, the fabrication of a 1/8 scale car is a challenge on its own, motorizing is another step up. Installing a working gearbox is again a challenge above that. Then making a heavy car move at reasonable speed is the pinnacle. You have achieved all of that, hats off! Now to the critiques: Maybe you shouldn´t have called the car „Huracan“, rather say „inspired by“ or something – then nobody has the right to criticize anything like that. The car doesn´t resemble a Lamborghini Huracan, at least for me! The front lights are the most important characteristic detail, the „eyes“ which make a „face“ recognizeable at first glance. They need to be angled at 45 degrees at least. The overall shape of the car is too squarish, especially the rear end with the exhaust pipes in line. Of course it´s an edgy Lambo after all, but anyway – it has slightly rounded edges everywhere if you look carefully. Did you use any blueprints for your build? I suppose you know Lox Lego´s approach – he has captured it very well in these aspects. Then a Huracan has a V10-cylinder engine, as far as I´m concerned. I make a lot of comromises everywhere else too when it comes to secondary details, you just can´t interpret everything 1:1. But for me it´s mandatory to be faithful to a primary detail like the engine at least. Having not enough space is no excuse here, you have reduced the size already by going „mini-scale" for the engine. I would recommend to use at least 2x L or 2xXL motors on a big car anyway. You didn´t mention what kind of device you´ve used for powering the motors – this information would be important. An underbelly shot would be nice to see as well. Great job with the gearbox however! No matter it´s based on a design from somebody else (you gave credit) – you have worked in sweat and tears, used it and upgraded to next level – I love this kind of smart solutions! Unfortunately you didn´t present how it shifts gears in the video, that would be great to see. I can´t wait for your next supercar evolution in this scale! Thanks again!
  24. That looks very nice arleady! It´s good to see you are putting a lot of efforts into the project, no matter how long it takes. Love the inclined body lines, that´s how it should be made! I also think the golden Sian wheels would pop better on this car. Your gearboxes are always great examples of innovation, interesting to study. Would you mind to show more of it? On the downside gearboxes consume a lot of space between seats and rear axle. The cabin looks spacious enough, that´s good. But I might say the wheelbase appears way too long to me, sorry. I´m counting 44 studs in the wheelbase – is that correct? If your calculations are based on the smaller front wheel of the real car, I´m wrong. Otherwise it should be around 40 studs, width 29 studs at the rear axle. If somebody says it´s nitpicking, I don´t care, because to me the right proportions are always key. Deviations above 2 studs look disturbing at first glance. At some point I´ve had to find out that some blueprints out there are simply not correct, whoever created them..
  25. Never sure if I have the right app version, running on the current android version, running more or less reliably on a relatively old phone (Sony Xperia XZ1). Happy to know it´s all OK, thanks .
