  1. Hey! It's interesting to see what people with too much time on their hands come up with! Unfortunately this isn't one of those times. Most of my Miller experiments have been of the brewery variety I'm really on a roll today, aren't I? Seriously though; I'm washing my son's Duplo today and am noticing them join together in the sink as I smash them around. Ok, have fun and hope you appreciate the humor. I couldn't resist, Joe
  2. Hey! Beautiful work, thanks for sharing. Joe
  3. Hey! Great thread, but the pics are too small in the first post. Would it be possible to make them bigger? Thanks! Joe
  4. Hey, it's good news! Maybe they can reduce prices now a little? Joe
  5. Hey! It's great! Joe
  6. Someone named 'HayHay' made it into a modular, along with some of the other superhero buildings such as The Daily Bugle. Search for it, it's pretty cool. Joe
  7. Hey! It's a ZomBEE! I got this whole series last week and it's one of my favorites. The whole Mr. Gold thing puts me off so much that I kinda considered stopping buying the CMFs, but... Joe
  8. Hey! Those are really cool, thanks for sharing. Joe
  9. Hey! Nice cars, thanks for sharing. Joe
  10. Hey! It's really nice, thanks for sharing. I'm not even gonna ask about the person in the swimsuit... Joe

  14. Hey! It's gorgeous, thanks for sharing. Joe
  15. Hey! Really nice, the five brick wide cabs look more realistic IMO. Now you just need some red buzzsaw decals! Looking forward to more pics from Brickworld. Joe
  16. You shouldn't have any problems as long as you don't use the word Lego. You could always use clone brand bricks which are mostly totally legal. I say mostly because a few of the clone companies have run into trouble because of their packaging or designs, but not because of the bricks as Lego's patents have expired. I've been doing EFL work here in China for quite awhile and will be moving back to the US here shortly. Do you have any tips or pointers about how to get work doing this in the States? Is there a web site you can recommend that has some good job leads? Thanks, Joe
  17. Hey! Thanks for the replies! It's too bad that only a few of the 'Great Railway Journeys' shows are available on DVD (the two Michael Palin ones). That's an excellent series. The level of modelling on the earlier 'Thomas' shows is outstanding, isn't it? Those guys were really, really lucky to have a gig like that. The later stuff is CGI, right? We have a three year-old ourselves. Thanks, I can't get into YouTube here and don't see that show anywhere else to download, but that's the kind of thing that interests me. I'll be moving back to the States soon, so I'll be sure to watch it. Thanks, that link and the videos there work. Unfortunately I don't speak German, but it looks like there are some interesting things on that site. Yeah, I've got those and they are excellent, I need to rewatch them. That sounds familiar, I'll take a look thanks! Cheers, Joe
  18. Hey HayHay! Another cool building, you've got an interesting block going there. Thanks, Joe
  19. Hey Fugazi (and I happen to know what that means after watching 'Donnie Brasco')! Thanks for your hard work. There are some useful threads in there. Joe
  20. Hey! We just got Series 10 of the CMFs and my three year-old noticed that most of them aren't very happy looking. Is it important? That's a difficult question that I'm nowhere near qualified to answer. Could you imagine a killer in a courtroom blaming his horrible acts on the poor disposition of his Lego Minifigs? It would be called 'The Lego Defense', I guess. There is way too much violence everywhere you look nowadays; TV, movies, the internet, newspapers, real life. It bothers me sometimes that Lego makes sets for movies that children have no business watching. Maybe Lego should go back to the simple smiley face, stop including guns in their sets and stop making sets based on violent movies. There are lots of things we could do as a society to reduce violence, Thanks, Joe
  21. Hey! Interesting post and I hear you, but... Lego is a clone brand in my mind as well. They started out by copying Kiddiecraft's bricks and selling in countries that Kiddiecraft had neglected to file for a patent. Maybe a car analogy would work well here; I own a cheap VW Jetta (the older, original model that is still made here in China). I would very much like to own a BMW or Benz, but they're out of my price range. Parents want their children to have construction toys for various reasons, but it's not a priority to get the premium brand. It's better to have something cheap than nothing at all, particularly since the child may very well play with it for fifteen minutes and never, ever touch it again. A roof over the head and food on the table is much more important, right? Perhaps it's best to look at it like this; cheap construction toys may be the gateway that will lead them to genuine Lego in the future. If the cheaper alternative were not available and Lego is unaffordable they certainly won't be doing any building whatsoever. That's my take on it anyway. Cheers, Joe
  22. Hey! That is really impressive. Thanks for sharing. Joe
  23. Hey! It's cool! My layout is in desperate need of some cars. I've got a bunch of trucks from official City sets, but precious few cars. Guess I need to get building, hope I can make one half as good. Joe
  24. Well, I just finished watching "Emperor of the North Pole". Ernest Bourgnine played a very bizarre character, a demonic conductor. It really looked as though his eyes were going to literally pop out of his head when he was choking that 'kid'. There are some really beautiful train shots in that film in a beautiful part of the US. I'm not quite sure how I missed that film in first place, especially as one of my all-time favorite movies is "The Flim Flam Man" with George C. Scott. "Emperor" is a much darker film though and "The Flim Flam Man" has a stronger cast. Joe
  25. Hey! Lookin' good, thanks for sharing! Joe
