That's a beauty and sounds like it was a true challenge. The gap between the engine and tender looks quite acceptable, particularly since it's Lego. Joe
-
Nice, but ten bucks? Six bucks maybe? Joe

Many thanks for posting the photo of the Lego engine, that's about the coolest thing ever! Joe
-
Cool photo. Man, I would love to see a train in Lego livery. I've been to the transport museums in Berlin and Nuremberg, don't remember seeing anything quite like that. Joe

Well, you know; late at night, lying in bed, using a tablet, foreign punctuation...it was just easier to ask since I was posting to praise it. Thanks, Joe
-
Well, maybe I should apologize for my post, but I had read yours in the morning and it kinda bugged me all day as, you see, I'm a harried parent myself and what you described doing wouldn't make my day. Anyway...I'm not exactly sure what the definition of flaky is, but I imagine it's a little odd in a harmless sort of way and certainly much better than creepy! Joe

Very nice, thanks for sharing. Does that engine exist in real life? Joe

Really nice, I like the blue and the interiors. Thanks for sharing! Joe

It came across as flaky to me, not so creepy. Joe

LDD MOC: Glencoe Imperial & Pacific motive power
Hey Joe replied to Murdoch17's topic in LEGO Train Tech
Aren't ALL of us still in our respective childhoods? Reliving them anyway, at least in my case. I'm hoping to get a non-descript box car set up w/PF to power anything that might temporarily need it. That new Lone Ranger put the idea into my head. It'll certainly be much cheaper than buying a whole slew of PF stuff and/or swapping stuff out continually. Anyway, I like your models guys, thanks for the inspiration. Joe -
LDD MOC: Glencoe Imperial & Pacific motive power

Those look great, especially 'Toby'. What about powering the actual models? A box car or something pushing from behind? Joe -
Very nice additions to 'Stabbinton'. The dark brown one on the left is my favorite. Joe

Free bacon! Hell yes! Your MOC is weird, funky and cute. A strange combo. Joe

Yeah, I'd jump all over those babies. Joe

Bricklink is a pain-in-the-you-know-what to use unless money is no object and even then it's no day at the beach. There are a ton of parts in those modulars. Jamie B. makes a very convincing argument AGAINST re-releasing sets in his Brickset forum post, so I'll look forward to Bricklinking one when I've time which will probably be when I retire! Hopefully there will be an easier to use site than Bricklink by that time. Joe

Very impressive, thanks for sharing! Joe

Sounds like a great idea! Joe

Looking for ideas, I have extra train bases...

What about a crane and flatbed combo? I'd really like to build those myself. Joe -
I didn't realize that Lego was edible! There are many famous, special dishes here in Beijing. eGullet is my personal favorite food forum. Edit; oh wow, I've been knighted! How cool is that? Do I get an audience with the Queen? Joe

The fact that most retail workers and truck drivers are treated like very disposable chattle in the States should probably be factored into the argument. They earn a little above pauper's wages with few - if any - benefits. Joe

Nice MOC, thanks for sharing. Joe

Really, really cool. The streetcars are my favorite and take me back to the pleasant year I spent in Eastern Europe. Joe
