  1. Hey, thanks guys! Yes, Blue Brick looks useful. It's not perfect, but what is? I'm trying to figure out how much Enlighten track (it's about US$ 2.50 a box) I need to buy while I'm still here in China to make a largish layout for a space of unknown dimensions. It's no easy task. You gotta get enough to squeeze in all your sets, and leave room for future expansion yet keep it reasonably-sized enough to stay under the wife's radar as much as possible! Cheers, Joe
  2. Hey, that's a nice site! Is that Track Designer program still relevant for PF? Thanks, Joe
  3. Hey! That's a really great classic Lego train station. Well done! Joe
  4. Yes, you're right. We do need more add-ons. I can understand a company wanting to keep it's SKUs down, it makes a lot of sense from the bean counter's point-of-view. However, sometimes - and this is one of those times - they really need to 'eat' a few marginally profitable items to support a line, don't you think? What would it cost them to devote a little warehouse space to a couple freight and passenger cars, and a few more track pieces? Joe
  5. Hey! They're all brilliant and thanks for sharing those with us. I kinda thought that the DC ones were a little better, but I like the DC sets and minifigs more anyway (which is a little odd as I'd always preferred the Marvel comics to DC). One idea; you could mount Wolverine's claws so that they stick out on the spoiler. It would give a whole new meaning to side-swipe. Joe
  6. Hey! Wow, what a beauty! There's so much to like about it, thanks for posting. Joe
  7. Man...those Batman films are some of the sickest movies I've ever seen IMO. Not sick in a -what do you call the genre?- slasher movie kinda way, you expect those to be pretty vile, but considering the fact that Batman is basically just a rich detective with fancy toys those movies are really twisted. I couldn't imagine a child watching them and it makes me sad to think about it. EDIT; Today is the one year anniversary of the Aurora shootings. 'Nuff said! Joe
  8. I'd say that the LR Constitution would make a great start for a holiday train, especially since you already own it. You could MOD the jail car to hold the PF, it's a tight fit, but I think it can be done. Take the gun off of the flat car and put a tree and presents on there. Really; after doing that you would just need to build a little passenger car to cart Santa and some children around. Peterab has some great ideas above. Of course you could always splurge and get the Emerald Night! Maybe ask the better half which she thinks would be better? The Constitution is on the small side, but is a perfectly fine looking engine IMO. Joe
  9. Hey! Welcome to Eurobricks My first thought upon seeing your member name was of our Train Ambassador Duq. My second was "The Dukes of Hazzard" TV show. Anyway, have fun! Joe
  10. They're killing the golden goose. Extremely short-sighted of them, isn't it? Joe
  11. Hey! That's really cool, thanks for posting. Joe
  12. Hey! What can I say? I'm a little speechless! It's wonderfully imaginative, thanks for sharing. Joe
  13. Hey! How about a massive US$300-400 Modular train station? Something grand with columns and arches, wouldn't that be awesome? Joe
  14. Hey! Welcome to Eurobricks. Joe
  15. Hey! Thanks for the great pics Grogall. That's a beautiful set. I agree with many of the posters here that the piece count / price is too high (I like the smaller, cozier sets of years past myself), but I think I see where they're going with the series and I'll go along for the ride. We'll probably be getting some more large sets in the future such as another Holiday Train or - gasp! - a beautiful Winter Village train station. Joe
  16. Hey! That's a beautiful and professional train. Well done. Joe
  17. Hey! I'm with you. It pisses me off that Lego makes children's toys for movies that children have NO business watching. What kind of crazy people spend more than US$ 350 million to make and market a movie anyway, and a western at that? I guess Spielburg and Lucas are right; the movie industry will implode on itself. It's a shame, I really enjoyed watching the old B & W Lone Ranger TV shows and I will probably see the movie eventually (in the comfort of my home), but I wouldn't want my young son to watch it and I won't be buying the Lego sets as it might lead him into wanting to see the film. I hear it's terribly fast-paced, I don't want him to get ADD. Joe
  18. Hey! That's a nice little switch engine. I especially like the shape and the smooth bricks. A decal or two would look nice as well I think. Joe
  19. Hey! Thanks for the photos. That building's roof has a vaguely Eastern Mediterranean/West Asian look to it, I don't think I've ever seen anything quite like it. Train stations and trackside structures are something that I find very interesting myself. Joe
  20. Hey! Thanks for the photos, such beautiful layouts. That Ninjago train is pretty cool. I'm not into Ninjago, but it gives me some ideas; like maybe an underwater Atlantis train or an Alien Conquest one. Joe
  21. Hey! I got an idea, maybe you could get some of those businesses or the local business council to sponsor you? You could agree to display it from time-to-time? You could also do some networking for your own business at the same time? Joe
  22. Hey! Beautiful station! A perfect destination for the HE. Thanks, Joe
  23. Hey! Thanks for reviewing this set, you did a good job. I'm planning on getting it myself as it'll look great next to my Creator homes on my train layout. Joe
  24. Hey! Good question. I often use Google to search for stuff on the site. Just type eurobricks review and the set number and you're good to go. Joe
