  1. Yes, you've hit the nail on the head. Joe

  3. Very nice, thanks for sharing! Joe
  4. Oooohhhhh! Joe
  5. Really nice, I especially like how you used the masonry bricks to add irregularity to the exterior. Thanks for sharing! Joe
  6. That's really cool! Thanks for sharing. Joe
  7. Awesome! Thanks for sharing. Joe
  8. Please don't get me wrong; I like your characters and story, but I hope they wouldn't do something similar to Ninjago with the Castle theme (although, of course, Castle did have it's Ninja period). Ninjago is just too fanciful for me. The basis of Castle is deeply rooted in historical fact and ancient myths and legends, but Ninjago is too far out there (jet planes and wrecking balls, for example). Your ideas would make for an excellent theme to replace Ninjago and/or Chima in the future IMO, but hopefully they would continue to do the Castle line as well. Thanks, Joe
  9. They look nice and they're different, but just think of all those parts that you COULD use to build something excellent and/or truly unique. Well now wait a minute, wait a minute; it could depend upon which modular and which type of car! Joe
  10. Those British shunters (I'd call it a switch engine ) are cool and you've really done them justice with that little gem. Joe
  11. Some really crazy stuff here. A few of the models are very nice (i.e. - UrbanErwin's loco) but not really wacky or weird enough so they didn't garnish my vote. Category A: 1. Hrw-Amen - 1 4. Locomotive Annie - 1 5. Fenaughty - 1 8. dundarach - 1 11. Commander Wolf - 1 Category B: 12. UrbanErwin - 1 13. Haddock51 - 1 14. Electricsteam - 1 15. Locomotive Annie - 1 17. LEGO Guy Bri - 1 Thanks and have fun! Joe
  12. Thanks for the nice review. The Creator houses are great IMO. This one will make for a neat little farmhouse on my layout I think. Joe
  13. Well, that's a start! Guess I need a 'Lego Steam Locos for Dummies' book. Many thanks for the long reply. Let me digest this and I'll probably start another thread in the future when (not if) I get stuck! Joe
  14. Truly awesome! Is there some sort of primer that exists for building a Lego steam engine? Perhaps one smaller than this. I'd really like to build one but have no idea where to start. I'm not looking for step-by-step instructions. Joe
  15. D@mn, I knew I shoulda bought two Maersk trains. Hopefully some kind soul will scan the stickers for us, please...please...please Joe
  16. Thanks, those individual 'garages' that they're packaged in are pretty cool as well. It's interesting to see how the scale of Lego has grown over the years. Joe
  17. That is totally awesome. Thanks for sharing! Joe
  18. It's Emerald Night for me. I'm hoping Lego will issue a more American-looking steam loco, but if they don't... Joe
  19. It does seem kinda lousy. Perhaps you could try writing them to get a fuller explanation? Prices here in China are outrageous as well, I often have stuff sent to my Mom's home in the US. Maybe you could find a friend to help you do this? Joe
  20. That's a beauty but I'm a sucker for just about any Lego truck. Thanks for posting the photos. Joe
  21. I'm a little lost myself. The two glasses of wine I just drank surely haven't helped... Joe
  22. I've heard to put a tiny bit of dishwashing soap in the water? Haven't tried it yet though. Joe
  23. I really like that a lot. Excuse me if this is a dumb question, but it's running on the old monorail track, correct? What about the motor? Thanks, Joe
  24. Cool, thanks. Is that place in Strasburg also called Steamtown? I don't remember that big shed there, maybe it's new? I really need to get back stateside and look through my old photo albums as I'm thinking the last time I saw that GG1 it was in that ugly, black Amtrak livery. The main impression that I have of my Steamtown visit (twenty years ago) is that it was frickin' cold, cold, cold! It would be a little difficult to do those graceful slopes of the GG1 in Lego, wouldn't it? Same goes for the front steps of The Daylight. Joe
