  1. it looks great between the other modulars, and works especially well next to the Green Grocer.

    MOC: Florist

This is gorgeous! I love the colour combination and the details in the facade, particularly the combination of lime and white arches above the windows. Love it!
  3. There's some really nice bank buildings there. My favourites are the first one, B8270 and B60657.
  4. This looks great! My favourite part is the ground floor kitchen.
  5. So true. The nature of the Friends sets just beg to be converted into buildings to avoid that sprawl! I love the concept of it being able to be out away. You've made a great start, with a good choice of set. I'm looking forward to seeing this one develop!
  6. Thanks! I'm glad you like it!
  7. Kelly Lester, mermaid extraordinaire, checking in!
  8. Thanks! Better start those instructions ... Thanks, Alex! I did play around with the positioning of the curved slopes on the roof, trying 1 brick gaps, 2 brick gap, double slopes right across, matching the placement of the columns in the facade, etc, but but this is the one that I liked best. Thanks! Did you have a look at the photos on flickr? There are a few more images there that have the bathroom. Let me know if there is a specific angle or detail you are trying to see.
  9. This is gorgeous! I love the contrasting colours on the facade, as well as the contrast between the old facade and the modern LEGO shopfront. The interior is stunning and perfectly detailed, right down to the Brickley coming out of the wall.
  10. Congratulations gazumpty, Galaktek and Cara. All beautiful entries!!
  11. Thanks for the great review, Pandora. I'm still confused about the colour of the turtle, but the other two are just too adorable.
  12. I'm good.
  13. This building not only looks great, inside and out, it also incorporate a lot of clever design details and parts use. My favourites are the way the planter boxes are hanging from the wall, the bars holding the front awning, the back fence and the rear downpipes. The bike hanging in the stairwell is also a nice detail. Love it!
  14. Not destroyed; just temporarily in thousands of pieces, scattered across a multitude of sorting boxes. Thanks! Thanks!
  15. Same here. Ordered on the 1st and no shipping notice yet, with the order showing "In process" on the main order status page. However, click through to the order details and there was a shipping date of 7th (even though the main page still says in process). Did you get an email receipt from LEGO? They sent one through to me on 7th. My understanding is that they don't charge your card until the order is shipped. So jealous right now.
  16. Thanks Timmy, cja, Redhead, majorna, Cloney, laka and dr_spock! I'm glad you like it. Thanks castor-troy. I'll be presenting a big layout when I win the lotto or my mortgage is finally paid off. Whichever comes first. Thanks LegoDr. There was going to be a small kitchen added in the back, but the owner made an executive decision that she didn't want to get up at 4am to start baking and so has them delivered instead. Sorry to shatter the illusion, but I actually built the two other buildings (without interiors) in the 24 hours before the shots were taken and they were then broken down immediately afterwards to use the bricks elsewhere. For me, yes and no. The modulars I have built for my daughter are still in her layout. The others get broken up so that I can use the bricks in the next MOC.
  17. Thanks, everyone, for the nice comments! I'm glad you like it. Thanks Superfunk, sin and Andy! The floor is a separate piece that is three plates deep - the middle one roughly in the shape of the floor space but on 45 degrees (using 45 degree wedge plates around the outside), the bottom layer of plates to hold that together and the top layer being the tiles. This slides into position and is then locked into place by the bricks for the back wall. Sorry for the verbal explanation only, I don't have any images at the moment. The idea for the floor tiles came from cmddwc's Round Pharmacy and Doctors. The instructions will be a little while away, as I haven't started them yet and my summer holidays are coming to an end. Back to work for me tomorrow. :(
  18. Hi everyone! I'd like to share my latest modular building, the Sugar & Spice. It's another New York inspired building, with a cupcake shop on the ground floor and apartment upstairs. Here's a view of the overall building: The cupcake shop: The first floor of the apartment, with the kitchen and lounge room: And the upper floor with the bedroom and bathroom: The artwork above the bed was made by my 6.y.o. daughter. I promised her some time ago that I would find a way to incorporate it into one of my modular buildings. The yellow ladder / stairs lead to the rooftop garden, accessed by the world's most dangerous hatch: This building was started at the same time as the Black Velvet, as I had one idea for the shop windows, but two different visions for where I wanted the building as a whole to go - one being the darker Black Velvet, the other being the more light and airy Sugar & Spice. You can play spot the difference on the ground floor facade in the image below, which shows the Sugar & Spice between the Black Velvet (left) and my first New York style building, the Coveted Clutch, on the right. More images available on flickr. C&C welcome!
  19. Great scene! My favourite parts are the stream and the view of the church with the stained glass window.
  20. Wow! This is just gorgeous! The colours are so vibrant, but nicely offset by the more earthy tone of the path and the jetty. I don't think there's anything I don't like. Can't wait to see the next module!
  21. 1.) What is your favourite monster mini figure? Series 7 Evil Knight 2.) What period of time in history do you find yourself most excited to learn about? I didn't pay enough attention in history class to answer this question correctly. 3.) What experience do you have with mafia games? Seven games (see signature for list). 4.) Favorite moment in your own gameplay? Winning as part of the scum team in Harriet Slutter. 5.) Will you be committed to playing this game and being not only active, but keeping track of time with night actions? Always 110% when it comes to mafia. Looking forward to this!
  22. Thanks, Hinckley. While I thought you were scum, I didn't think scum would kill me that first night. My (flawed) logic was that you wouldn't bother contacting me if you were going to kill me. So, I thought I was safe until the morning and my investigation result was in, and I'd have someone I could confide in. I have sent an "in case I'm dead" PM before, but really didn't know who I could trust yet in this game. Interestingly, the one person I should have contacted was at the bottom of the list because I assumed you two were scum buddies because you told me to contact him.
  23. This is awesome! The main building looks really cosy and I love how you've done the roof.
