  1. The Mixel system seems like it would work best if applied the same way it is now: making System models more complicated, rather than making the core of the build out of it. Anyway, a lot of posts seem to complain that HF is too simple and the lack of follow-up to the "Villain Factory" is a problem, but do we actually know how much time has passed in-story? Setting up a large company would take at least a year or two, more if you're trying to do so secretly, and the amount of time that passes between two story arcs seems to be minimal: Rise of the rookies and Ordeal of fire are speculated to have only a few months at most between them, and are themselves resolved within about a week or two.
  2. The mini-vehicles are absolutely beautiful. And what's more, I'm pretty sure the parts for the mech (my favorite of the bunch) exist, so it's actually buildable.
  3. Tridax pods are even smaller. I suspect only the larger GS cocoons designed for minifigures to stand in would work.
  4. While I like the slightly revised torso, the fins seem to aggravate the problems with the neck. I've noticed that you've kept a balljoint unused there, but I can see why that wouldn't work. Maybe one of the shortest length bones would help solve the neck issue? Generally, a human neck is significantly longer than that of a generic HF build.
  5. This build is beautifully armored, but the proportions seem very off. I'd recommend lengthening the legs, reducing the size of the upper arms compared to the lower ones and then giving her an actual weapon. Similarly, the head might look slightly better if it was more to the front of the MOC. If you want to make this into a villain, wouldn't a "villain core" fit perfectly instead of a hero core, with the "side-flaps" fitting under the armor?
  6. Wow. when I saw the small version of the Spynlin pic I thought "wait, does that spider seem to have hairs?" And then I saw what piece it was and I was amazed at how perfectly that part works. I'm kind of annoyed that I'm going to have to pick up at least two sets (three if I decide to get Scorm's vehicle) .
  7. They won't. The dimensions are 3,00*3,00*3,50. Only the larger, more asymmetric cocoons would let them fit in.
  8. Too bad, although the "queen" (seems kind of mobile if they were going for a "hive queen" concept) appears to have some pretty good parts. Does anyone know if the new sets are available in Germany yet?
  9. Oh well, there goes my hope for the combined jet not having horribly clashing colors. Does anyone actually know why Rocka is so popular with the target audience?
  10. Okay, so the new sets are available in the Netherlands. The Mechdragon is 95 (at Toys XL), the Ninjacopter is 59 (at Intertoys)/55 (Toys XL), Kai's Fighter is 15 (Toys XL) and I believe the Hover Hunter is 8 (Toys XL).
  11. The General Cryptor armor piece is one of the nicest I've seen. It allows for all the connections of the ZX armor (katanas/katana+stud) and it has excellent detailing.
  12. Samus looking like a girl? Blasphemy . Anyway, nice MOC, although the head just doesn't look right.
  13. Maybe we should set up a special GS MOC database? I've got an idea for some extra backstory for the theme, if anyone wants to hear it.
  14. That MOC, VBBN, is what I call "carping awesome". I wasn't planning on MOCcing much this year, but that MOC is making me reconsider my decision.
  15. I'm pretty sure that that noise is my brain dribbling out of my ears and combusting spontaneously. Just how in the megablocks would that work?
  16. I'm very amused at the idea that with dozens of nindroids roaming about, dressing up in traditional ninja garb may actually make you more stealthy in New Ninjago City.
  17. I highly doubt another action figure theme will mean the end of HF; for the past few years there have always been two action figure lines running concurrently. Considering how badly Chima's doing, this new theme might just fill that niche. And really, the "Heroes battle random monsters" concept is so basic that LEGO could keep it running forever, in the same way that City has been going on for years with near-identical versions of the same sets.
  18. Or possibly a tank covered in sawblades. I've looked into it, and you can achieve a functional, wheeled tank with sawblade action feature for under 2000 parts.
  19. I can quite definitely imagine something more imposing than the Mechdragon, which the trailer shows to be much smaller than the Great Devourer in-show (maybe twice as thick but about one twelfth as long). Considering Ninjago's tradition of leaving out a set for the big finale threat, we've got another reason right there for the Mechdragon not to be the finale's monster..
  20. Well, Surge's vehicle is...disappointing, to say the least, as is the creature with the staff. Oh boy am I hoping that they're keeping the biggest set under wraps. On the plus side, the style of animation seems ridiculously impressive. I can't find any indication for the red creature having three pairs of legs, by the way. Also, have people seen that the spider creatures actually look like they're made of HF bones? That's a pretty amusing little easter egg. So far, the only summer set that seems interesting to me is the azure one (that quaza spike piece ).
  21. That bot's...interesting to say the least. The scanner eyes make it look very comical .
  22. The Warp Stinger is excellent, both as a set and as a parts pack.
  23. Beautiful, lovely windscreen design.
  24. The Galaxy Defender and the Interceptor look fantastically sleek and solid. Nice work!
