They have scales and (and this is surprisingly enough true to reality) can take far greater punishment than the robots. Also, they hatch out of eggs, so it's pretty clear they're either organic or are robots which are designed to have lifecycles similar to organic creatures.

Personally, I'm hoping the finalized version wears something closer to General Cryptor's armor, which is an absolutely beautiful mold.
-
Yes, and LEGO has definitely succeeded with that.
-
I know they're not the same part. I'm just saying they look similar.
-
Maybe they're disguised as President Business' "Super Secret Police"? I know these jokes are silly, but they're worth it. Both versions of Agents have had a lot of interesting parts. Now if only that could be combined with Alpha Team's (a name sadly enough used by HF) simple yet effective designs.

This version is nearly perfect. Only those silver pieces on the feet stand out too much, but the whole thing is already a huge improvement over the previous forms. Those new claw pieces are absolutely excellent, aren't they? You could solve the feet problem by replacing the armor and add-ons with a few of those, actually.

The Queen's wing pieces match those in the show exactly; semi-translucent blue segmented versions of the piece used to make Flyer Beast's wings. Also, the colors seem to indicate the Queen's lower jaw and the bionicle hand pieces used to connect the "spikes" to the wing bones all seem to be Earth Blue or some darker shade than the Azure ones we've gotten earlier. Too bad we only have one pic showing only part of the Queen. What we can see (yellow Savage Planet multi-spike/scale armor add-on!) looks amazing and it's not even a whole set. Also, why are so many people hating the faces? They all look a little too much like the Bionicle Legend Reborn ones (and Stormer's reminds of his 3.0 form for some reason), but they're not that bad.

Torts? TORTS? We're getting pastry-themed Mixels! Yay ! Some of the other names are similarly hilarious. Wizwuz, Footi and Hoogi are some prime examples of LEGO names making no sense.

A brown Stormer XL chestpiece seems the most likely for the mammoth, although the ice theme might just mean another white version. Or, if we're really lucky, a tr. light blue one.

I think one of the Fire Chi figures looks a little strange. A red head on an orange body with gold armor, white hands and holding a weapon that looks like the unholy offspring of a crossbow and a pair of nunchaku is a bit too strange for my tastes. On the other hand, the fire wings on the Phoenix figure look interesting, and it seems that the wolves are coming back (the snout is far longer than on the panther minifig). The "Ultimate Showdown" set seems like a combo of 2012 Ninjago's arena and the Exo Force Sentai Base (I can't remember the name exactly). The Mammoth mech thingy seems a little too lean (considering they appear to be using the larger types of mammoth that lived in icy regions as inspiration for the minimacrofigs). The tr. blue detailing on the side and the similarly colored tusks seems like new parts, and I wonder how they'll handle the trunk. The strange tower of what look like Ninjago spinners is confusing as well. The Macrofig is quite amusing and seems to have armor with three connection points (used here with barraki eyes to represent Chi). For some reason, there seems to be one lion with a golden head (and one with a completely white one, presumably the unfinished version of the same fig) but with ice blue armor (and new paw-shaped weapon piece).

That dragon's head in the temple made me wonder what the megablocks was going on, as it looked like a Mixels figure. And the Overlord Mecha-chair-walker-thingy is confusing, to say the least. Golden spider legs as railing and a SW missile launcher both feature in the build, but the figure has armor with golden pauldrons and a strangely elongated helmet. Meanwhile, the one visible back leg appears to have half a shuriken stuck in it. As far as I can judge from two blurry pictures, the temple seems slightly disappointing.

That's more or less what I thought. The summer sets seem to have a lot of MOCcing potential. I'm going to be combining all of Evo's mechs, the same goes for Rocka.

I'd change the colors of the exo-force robot arms so they all match, if possible. Here are a few tips for getting good quality pictures; a stack of books or magazines can make an excellent tripod; daylight always makes the best pictures; if your best room for photography is rather crowded, put your MOC on a desk so the light catches it directly, and. above all, if you have a camera with an auto-focus function, use it. Back to the MOC, the colors seem well matched and the wings are a great simple yet effective technique. The back, from what I can see of it, needs maybe a single armor piece more, which is where the basic variant of torso shell, some 3-length pins and a Stormer XL 3-long ball-joint add-on will be useful. The head seems interesting, perhaps a bit too bulky.

Heh, I'd forgotten about that SNOT piece. Project Slizer sounds interesting, the official storyline seems to have had so much wasted potential.

I suspect many fix-fics will be written because of this episode. The impression this episode gave me is "Sometimes, it's better if the monsters eat the heroes". Also, I suspect the Queen Beast will actually include some of the pods. About the Tunneler Beast, it's front-most set of legs appear to have smaller "paws" than it's back pairs. Any ideas what the back pairs use?

Personally, while I absolutely love the vehicles (Surge's quadrupedal winged mech is without a doubt the best of the year , with Bulk's Driller coming in a close second), I liked the episode up until the ending. Seriously, guys, murder of hundreds of babies, innocently attempting to protect their home, from what probably look like eldritch abominations to them, is worth getting three people back? Sure, as a whole the episode is a big improvement over older ones, but calling Breeze, the person who attempted to ride a kaiju, a treehugger for trying to solve things peacefully? No, not good. Deciding to shoot when the only person on the team who appears to have a modicum of control over the situation tells you not to? No, not good. Too bad the chances of the heroes getting reprimanded for this is virtually zero. Also, I feel the mechs got destroyed a little too quickly and in far too quick succession. Relatively speaking, they take a significantly smaller beating than the heroes (which they are supposed to help protect) have taken in earlier episodes before getting damaged beyond repair. They're practically made out of cardboard.

Upper limit on parts?
DraikNova replied to DraikNova's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
That'd still break the polygon limit. It isn't (only) the amount of parts (it'll be almost exclusively hollow, with the internals built as a separate segment), but sheer size that's going to stop me from building this. EDIT: Let me state this question differently: what is the part limit in LDraw, if there is an absolute maximum? -
Upper limit on parts?
DraikNova replied to DraikNova's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
That polygon problem is exactly what I'm asking about. The 13-foot SSD is large enough that it LDD can't handle any more polygons, and my project is quite a bit bigger in terms of length and width. Does LeoCAD (is that the right name?) or another program allow for larger builds than that? -
On the same subject, how do Scuba's? They appear to be connected to an unconnected jumper plate.

I think the first depiction works better. The flesh tones blend into the rest of the build, which is ironically the opposite of what I usually see when dealing with flesh-colored minifigs.
-
So, I've come up with some ideas for a LDD project, when I started to wonder; how much can LDD handle? Even my original plan was to make this project modular, but even so the largest module is 500 by 1000 studs wide (3 by 6 meters), and probably at least 100 bricks tall (90 centimetres) at some points. In your experience, when does LDD start to go haywire with large projects? After seeing the 13-foot Super Star Destroyer and hearing about it requiring 2 LDD files, I'm beginning to question whether LDD is even capable of rendering things at this size. I would hate to have to switch to some new program I'm not used to, but it'll probably be necessary. Thoughts?

[LDD MOC] 71,000 piece, 13-foot Super Star Destroyer
DraikNova replied to Fox Hound's topic in LEGO Star Wars
You must be insane for doing this . Completely and utterly insane. With that point made, even so it's impressive. It's horrifyingly detailed and mind-crashingly large. I may have to steal that engine technique sometime. -
I myself always see fire and ice as a reaction involving oxygen and the solid form of a particularly common substance, respectively. I wonder what themed parts will be introduced, though. I'd like some sort of ice shard piece.

I was giggling for a full minute when I saw this. I blame the comic-looking overalls, which are as excellent as the rest of this build.

While this MOC uses a very unique-looking build, this MOC's jaw spike does not look good on it, nor dose that head mold, although it is probably the only one that allows for the antennae to be attached. A simple lower jaw, perhaps using the HF round shoulder armor piece, would solve this problem. The use of the Bitil head is excellent and the upper body looks absolutely great, however.
