  1. Where did we get that rumor, anyway?
  2. @Leewan: Agreed, we definitely need a special topic for these alternates. Does anyone what know the cheapest way to get black heads, completely plain or with one side decorated, is?
  3. Yes! And the Stormer piece in black is, for the same reasons, a necessity. Although I'm not sure the type of plastic used in the friction adder can be produced in black.
  4. A lot of those promos included surprisingly good and rare parts. Need I remind you of the Turaga Lhikan promo? Also, my greatest non-stars-build letdown is Mahri Kongu. The cordak ammo's fragility and the sets overall aesthetics were a bit bleh, to tell you the truth.
  5. Portal 2, Space Core.
  6. Pretty nice. My version (not using Jaw Beast, however) is kind of similar to that, although significantly smaller and less complex. Good work, and it's definitely given me ideas on how to build a HF version of Godzilla. And good news for me, thanks to my Galaxy Squad and Ninjago budgets decreasing, I'll have enough to buy multiples of the beasts. Any advice which sets are useful for MOCcing?
  7. You made a head out of a tricycle? That's just the best and most "What." use of a part I've ever seen.
  8. Quite definitely the Stars. Even the battery pack bonus set(s, I only got one) look better to me. On the same note, HF 1.0. The villains were pretty good, all things considered (the 2.0 building system is what made it a lot easier to build proper villains), but the heroes could have used quite a bit of work.
  9. To make it look like Nex more (apart from using orange, which would work much better as a detail color than that gold), use one of the many smaller joint parts to create a visor/monicle/zoom lens thingy that can be folded down over the helmet. Adding a source of propulsion for him to use for space travel or some way for him to destroy said planet would also help your MOC.
  10. Kids love generically evil-looking characters, so black looking evil wouldn't explain it. Even if they're not canonically evil, black is often considered a "cool" color anyway. The chance for Stringer to have a snazzy-looking black and blue mech is one of the reasons I want the minifig + mech thing to continue for another wave.
  11. The new half-cocoon piece in yellow, red/orange (if that isn't included in one of the other sets) or even black (any sinister-looking character could make good use of these).
  12. Just one more week to go...
  13. I saw these on Flickr, and I must say that the Croc and Eagle ones are the best looking ones of this series. The Lion one is a bit too strange-looking, especially from the back, whilst the Wolf mech looks slightly spindly from some angles (and absolutely stunning from others. That said, these are an extremely creative use of speedor shells and the bestial look on the Croc one is amazing. The one that pulls off the "mech" part of this the best is without a doubt the Eagle one, however.
  14. I guess I should have seen this coming when I saw the Legend Beasts. This is an amazingly voltron-esque combiner of those builds, which is quite strange, considering it's components.
  15. Beautiful. The spindly proportions, gangly legs and colorscheme a la Blactron I makes this MOC look very sinister. And the techniques used are excellent. What's the assembly at the top of the torso? I can't make heads or tails of it.
  16. Yeah, that part is one of the most useful of them all, allowing for the Drilldozer, Waspix or Stormer pieces to be added to it. More colors would be very useful for MOCcing.
  17. That's one snazzy-looking logo.
  18. That picture illustrates my point even better. There's no way the bar sticking out of the engine's/robot's torso's right side is thick enough to be that arm part.
  19. Quite nice. The HF version of Riaso is pretty nice, although I think the armor shells on his upper legs should be swapped out for silver ones. Compared to his past versions, Soldon seems pretty meh, even with the minimalist look that the IfB heroes share. All but the original and the IfB versions look nice actually, peaking around 2.0-3.0, which can also be said for Riaso. Nova Cole is a little meh in all his forms, truth to be told. BA Lan Illumin is my favorite of these MOCs, with his 4.0 version being pretty nice as well. Candra in XL format, is just...what. I like the 3.0 and BA versions, however, with their nice layering of gunmetal and white. Renna looks like a holiday-themed (halloween pumpkin, maybe?) hero for some reason. I don't really have much to say about Alex and Tiffany. Manix Hount's incarnations look pretty creative, however
  20. Strangely enough, there are a lot of errors in those MOCs compared to his usual standards. For example, Breez' mech uses Bohrok eyes instead of system slopes (which he probably has a few of left from his Bionicle MOCcing days, unless he got rid of technic parts along with all his other Bionicle stuff). Oh well, there's probably a perfectly valid reason that will make me look stupid.
  21. Hell, even the original 1954 Godzilla movie could be considered a ripoff of an even earlier one, The Beast from 20,000 Fathoms. For that matter, writing anything is a ripoff of the first written words ever. The same goes for movies, comics and pretty much any media.
  22. I already saw the new weapons on your flickr, and I must say, they fit with the overall look of the MOC very well, the modified meteor blaster and it's use of Pohatu turbine pieces in particular. About the LDD thing, does anyone know why it's so hard for it to process ball joint movement? Or why LEGO didn't make it work better once they realized it's problems?
  23. Yeah, it's always hard to make an inverted (right word?) circle in 3D programs; I kept running into that problem when trying to design an electromotor that can rotate in more dimensions.
  24. A lower body piece would be useful, but so would a torso with cup endings. What we really need is a piece that can be used for connecting multiple parts for large MOCs.
  25. Nope, it's already been featured in the show, and is quite definitely different. It's very unlikely that they'd reuse a vehicle, anyway.
