  1. Very nice build! Nice patterns going along the side though at spots there might be a little too much color for me.
  2. Great lighting there, really gives it a secretive and eerie feel! The wires and fans lying around are really nice as well, and that speeder looks fast!
  3. Very nice work LL, the plant growth is fantastic and so is that speeder! Mounties are funny too.
  4. Location: F03 Tags: Building, Military (at least I assume a beacon outpost would be considered military), Vehicle, Land Vehicle Please note that there are two elements in this collection of builds that have been reused for story purposes; the yellow speeder and the black and blue ship. So here I am, heading for the nearest Octan beacon as commanded. Great. I've got two guys here to walk you through the whole process. Meet Joe and Paul. Paul. ... ... ...Oh, um, Joe. Right. Paul, Joe - you guys got this. Of course! You seem to be taking advantage of the relaxed dress code, Joe. Naturally! Relaxed everything, if you ask me! Well, looks like you two got this. See ya! You too! - Psst, Paul... are we supposed to tell him that he's going to meet up with his partner at the beacon? I don't think so. I don't know how he'll take it. Okay. What's that? Oh, nothing much. I thought I heard the word partner. I abhor that word. Er... well... Looks like I'm here! Great! Umm - Paul? Right, so... your partner should be there waiting for you. What?!?! Relax! You'll like her. HER?!?! ... ... Well, hey, wha'dy'know! Here I am and I can't see anyone else, so - what do you two say we get on with this? I'm sure I can do just fine on my own! I'm getting her signal right above you. Above me?! ...oh. *sigh* Howdy! Well... that was definitely not what I was expecting. What's that, younker? My hearin' just ain't as good as she used ta be! I was just, er, talking to myself, Mrs. ... Galash. Mrs. Galash. Say! You've got a cool spaceship there! This baby ain't no spaceship, whipper snapper. This here's a 49X RayWing! Right! ... that's what I meant. Of course. Um... nice colorscheme! I know, right! You kinda lookin' like you could use a color update, too! Well, you know, I wouldn't mind a speeder in black, myself! You're in luck! I got just the thing! Um. That ... wasn't exactly what I had in mind. Hohoho! You ain't been around me long! Watch 'n' learn! I call it - the DeLUX! Wow! This is pretty swell! Tell me 'bout it! Only problem is, there's no place for my surf board on it... hmm... You brought a surf board, younker? Of course! You know, that ain't a bad idea! Lemme pull mine out. You have a surf board with you?!?! Be prepared! That's my motto! Whoa! Hold your horses! You two are supposed to head over to <classified>. Oh, right. Hey younker, got your Dom. for Dummies on ya? Domination for Dummies? What do you want that for? I need ta check out whether <classified> has water on it. If not, we might could go lava surfing. I got a lava surf board too, ya know. To be continued! An extra shot of the first build: And of the second! C&C welcome!
  5. Thanks! No roof of that sort would be complete without a plant! This was for the BrickStory competition, so I had a deadline! Not quite dead, yet, but I don't plan on trying it again for quite a while, at least not at such a large size! Of course I didn't count them exactly, but I imagine it was about a PAB cup worth! Thanks! Thanks Andrew!
  6. Very nice little boat, the supplies lying around look great too! Nice touch with the monkey!
  7. Your builds are getting better and better Purvel; fantastic texturing here and the furniture looks great as well!
  8. By filling out the license form you have essentially deducted the right amount from your account. You don't have to fill out a transaction form.
  9. Very nice ship, the MCTC will be humble to have her in our fleet! The red sails look great (if a little Corry-ish), and the shape is fantastic; especially the prow!
  10. Wait... you mean I've been wracking my brain over fitting small residences on 16x16s for nothing? I'm confused though. What on earth is the 16x16 requirement there for if it's neither a min. nor a max?!?
  11. Is it just me or are you two always going at cross-purposes?
  12. When Nocty and Avalonia trash-talk, who wins? Kaliphlin!
  13. Thank you! Ah; I see - you don't mean actually exactly the opposite of how they are now, but sideways. I've still got that bit laying around somewhere so maybe I'll give it a go and see how it looks (the problem being that the wings are much harder to attach that way). I was thinking of it more like this.
  14. So you've become a truly pirate-y pirate, eh? Nice work on this build, those stairs are really good (though dark grey might have been a better color, if you have it) and the cracks are very nice. I like how your builds are getting more interesting and complicated without losing your signature clean feel. Keep it up!
  15. Welcome (back) to BoBS! Nice intro!
  16. Don't worry, I wouldn't actually hang anybody all the way. Thanks! Thank you! Finally found something to use it for!
  17. Calling all Eslandians! Now's the time to shine in the February MRCA Trade Runs! If you're interested in being escorted by the crown, sign up here!
  18. To the Worthy Citizens of Eslandola, This month, the Empire of Eslandola has 5 escorting warships. The Secretary of State has drafted three routes. These are open first of all to any Eslandian citizen. If after the 25th of Febuary there is still room available, citizens of the other nations may apply as well. Sea Rats will need a note of legitimacy from a respected authority. (How do you get that? I have no idea. If you're interested, you might want to get the letter ready before the 25th, so you can be first in line.) Slots are granted on a first-come-first-serve basis. 'Tweenleg Tail: Low Risk - a Four (4) Zone Route that visits ports of a relatively small size. (Escorted by the Dark Lightning.) Dark Narwhal Safer Than Sorry: Medium Risk - a Three (3) Zone Route that visits ports of a medium size. (Escorted by the Travoa.) Stubborn Stern 4Profit: High Risk - a Six (6) Zone Route that visits some of the richest ports. (Escorted by the Queen of Terreli.) The Cotton Lady The Golden Snake Note: These routes are designed primarily for two (2) speed ships. > How do I participate? Sign up in this thread for a slot on the run of you choice. Post a link to your build and be sure to specify what type of license you have. If you haven't done it already, fill out the ship license form. Once enough members have signed up for your run you will be invited to a PM thread with your fellow merchants. There, you will receive details on your route and can set up a flotilla (see below) if so desired. When the MRCA form is ready, you'll be given a link. Then just follow the directions on the form and you'll be ready to go! Remember! For your own greater safety, within an escorted group merchants may combine in flotillas of up to three ships. You will have to take care of this aspect on your own. > Want to carve your own way? Eslandola has two other warships. These will be served out on a first-come-first-serve basis. Apply below if you want one. You must have at least two other members who have confirmed that they would like to travel with you. (We might make an exception for the speed three ships, since there are only two of those.) Provide a link to your own ship and your companion's ships and make sure that everyone has filled out the ship licensing form. You do not have to use these extra Warships for Trade Runs - take a Bounty Run if you think you can strike it rich! One of these ships has been applied for by MAESTRO and Maxim. The other has been reserved by Capt Wolf, Sir Stig, and Umbra-Manis. Important! Eslandola provides escorts but does not guarantee safety! So what are you waiting for? Let the sign-ups begin! __________________Guy K. Wyndzon __________________Secretary of State Given on the 19th of February, 616.
  19. Well, of course, I wasn't actually timing it, though I did try to estimate how much longer it would take at various stages. It could have been less. It sure felt like seven hours though! (Of course, I broke it up between various days, too. And I'm sure I got faster as I got used to it, though after a certain point, haste makes waste, you know!) Thank you!
  20. A long time. Probably verging on 7-10 hours of pure repetition. Thanks! Hmm... I'm trying to imagine them the other way and it's looking really funny... ! Thanks though! Thank you! If you really intend to try out my crazy technique, I'd recommend angling the build so that everything rolls down to one corner (start in that corner, of course!), and also LEGO wrenches (or a similar sized piece) are lifesavers when it comes to inserting the pieces in small spaces and gently nudging everything in place. Thanks! Be sure to pick a route with no speed bumps! That would be an understatement! Thanks! Well I have already graduated there, so I didn't really need 'em! In fact though, it didn't even occur to me that it might fit in Ulandus... oh well! Thank you! Someone else mentioned that about the wheel pieces - I don't have nearly as many but if I did it might be worth a shot! Nope, I'm afraid you can't see a reverse angle... I was seriously running out of time and didn't close the gaps between the roof and the wall. So I didn't bother to get a good reverse angle and the build is long since dismantled!
  21. It's definitely nice that LEGO decided to go with blue instead of red for this second one, to offer a little variety for those who already had the other one. Still given the prices I think this one is a much better deal! Thanks for linking the review!
  22. Actually I was kind of surprised to see that there wasn't a set of instructions on how to play the actual game... You're welcome! If you're looking for a small army, this is one of the best ways to go! Not being an army builder at all (I think it's awesome if I can make three figures that look like they might belong in a regiment together! ) I really wasn't concerned with that aspect. To me, the updated piece count was fantastic - and, I did find the set at a pretty good bargain, plus I had $40 that were burning a hole through my pocket...
  23. Not much to say about this build, except that the road was a colossal pain! One of my biggest builds to date - though I'm working on something bigger right now! Got some good use out of those corner tiles, too. And lastly, my eagle. Which I had been planning on changing to black but totally forgot. C&C are always welcome! Thank you very much for looking!
  24. You're right about the queen; blue would have been much better! Yes, the pieces are quite confusing. But if you're the one with the good memory, and your opponent is not... that can be convenient! But, of course, I most certainly did not get this set because I wanted to play chess. So I didn't give that much of a thought when evaluating whether it was worth the price or not! In some respects that chess set is better - do you know what the price was (for comparison)? The nice thing about this one is that the squares are tiled, which makes it look much more professional. And of course, tiles always come in handy for MOCcing.
