  1. Excellent update! I really like seeing the candle-making process in the interior. As I mentioned on Flickr, it's really neat to see the cobblestone technique in different colors, though I'm not absolutely sold on using all three colors. My favorite upgraded bit has to be the door though--such a cool idea to make it look castly. I'm making a mental note of that! Also--I usually find backwards torsos look a little off, but the backwards torso on your girl character inside looks fantastic!
  2. This is very good and very big!! I really like the combination of med lavender, dark green, and olive for the landscape, and the roof technique you used looks great. Nice lighting inside the building too, makes it look warm and inviting.
  3. The motion!! I cannot get over how smooth and beautiful the slight motion of the ship is. How high up is the base to accommodate whatever gears and stuff you had to use? Do you happen to have any shots of what the inner works there look like? How long did it take you to work that out? As you can tell, I'm really floored by the motion. As for the rest... it's a viking village, of course it's awesome! The shield roof, the trees, the round tower--great techniques for each of these, overall a really neat build, great stuff.
  4. Such an aggressive shark-like shape! Love it.
  5. Your edit is so sharp! I love how you made all the neon bits glow. Then too, you have a really fascinating shape. Several great techniques (canoes? brilliant) but what takes the cake for me is the white rubber band around the double wedge for the M... works so so well.
  6. Neat shape on this ship! I like the way it's mostly greebles with just a layer of blue on top. But my favorite part is the rover, the treads look very cool.
  7. These are unbelievable! I'm glad I'm a writer, not an artist. (Before you mention it... yes, I know AI can write, but I've never seen it compare to human writing the way these do to concept art.) Thanks for posting them here. I will at least add a link to this comment on the front page and maybe put some of the pictures there. Edit: well, I added them all. I couldn't pick Also, we had lost some of the ones we already had.
  8. Really neat tree trunk design! Wish I had that many
  9. A wonderful build--some really brilliant techniques in here. Great combination of arches and curved slopes on the right wall for the tudor, brilliant way to do the overhanging roof with brackets, and hats off for managing to create a new stonework technique after all these years of castle building! Also gotta mention the arch around the door with hammers and the triangle texture on the overhanging bit of the second story. The overall impact of the MOC is really fresh and crisp! And I really love how you guys have built yourself a niche of winter themed collab creations and become masters at it!
  10. I love how all of these... even the one not related... are redheads It really does give them all a cohesive look. The half-leg is a really intriguing idea, works very well. Not sure I could bring myself to tear apart a pair of short legs though. And oh, what a nice way to present them, all in one shot... I photographed all mine separately and am now editing them and I am sick of it. Wise choice.
  11. Nice little build! I love how much you were able to get out of it with all the story shots. The interior looks really cozy!
  12. You're sure setting a high bar for yourself! Great build, I really like your sunset presentation on the close-ups too! The red flowers on the vines add a nice splash of color and I love the variety of activities the children are engaging in!
  13. Thank you! Oh, that would be such a fun project! I don't know when I'll find time for it though Thanks! Thank you! Yes, the engineer part of me couldn't tolerate a tower on the roof of a house Thank you! Two of my favorite parts for sure! Thank you!
  14. So impressive! You pretty much know what I think about all the parts, but have I mentioned the eyebrows yet? Brilliant!
  15. CCC hosted a contest just for previous Master Builders, and somehow I'm on that list, so of course I had to participate! The challenge was to recreate a classic castle set. I chose the Guarded Inn--it was the bright colors that attracted me, and then the unique layout brought me back to it, though some of the forestmen sets were tempting me! It was really fun to modernize some of the old pieces, like the red-and-black tudor panels and the window on the outside wall. I made a few changes, like moving the tower from on top of the roof (I think it's safe to guess that this set wasn't designed by an engineer) off to the side and making the chimney medium nougat to differentiate it from the wall. But I decided not to tone down any of the bright colors of the set, and I'm glad I didn't--working with these primary colors was a blast! The door opens and closes pretty easily, though in the set it opened out. I decided to open it in so you could still see the arch over it. With the new castle and the updated lion knight torsos and shields, I figured I'd give the minifigures an overhaul too. I'm especially happy with the innkeeper. Of course the stable door opens to let the guests' horses in and out! The biggest feature of the original set was the opening wall. I don't know if it's really necessary to have an opening front when the back is completely open to the air, but I wasn't going to pass up the opportunity to build a play feature! Inside got a bit of a makeover! The new chimney is extra fancy and the chandelier actually swings! I also built a couple of tables and benches. Overall, this set was really fun to revamp, I hope I did the original justice! Would love to hear what you think about it! Thanks for stopping by.
  16. I thought this was new when I saw it on the collage! The monkey pharaoh statues are so good! Where did you get that idea?!
  17. Happy holidays to you too! This is a fun build, I'm surprised by how much I like the sand green walls next to the red windows!
  18. That is definitely true! I'm very glad I didn't have to move this far to take pictures of it. Tbanks Mass Editor! So good to see you again!
  19. A lovely building, the yellow and nougat complement each other very well and I approve the artist's choice to write 1622 just for looks even though the year is 622
  20. What a funny story--in retrospect, I should definitely have seen that coming, but I didn't for quite a while. Great job designing the giant frog and the swamp with all those olive green stems and the white flowers looks great!
  21. Great little build, I love the way the green hoodie works over Ayra's cape!
  22. Good to see some old but gold builders coming back for this challenge! Great upgrade, though I miss the yellow, the slope you added to the tower and the bit of frozen pond are both great additions.
  23. This is really cool, lots of stuff going on! I love the way you did the sandy beach and the red roofs really add some fun color!
  24. What a cool scene! Seriously though, I really love the light aqua you added, it makes everything look really cold! Great texture on the walls of the hut!
  25. Those hats are really something else! Quite eye catching. Lovely tree too and overall a great build.
